He was very arrogant if the fact that he kept bringing up that he was the Doctor and knows best and quick dismiss the concerns I had for my daughter. He didn’t seem to listen to fact that I was concerned about the underlying problem that could be causing the adverse effects that she was having. Just that he was the “expert” in his field and he has seen people with worse problems. In my opinion that shouldn’t make her problems any less important as he made it seem. He also used very vulgar language about a “cutting open her neck to do a biopsy or sticking a needle in her neck to do a non invasive biopsy” while she was in the room making it difficult to respond in the care I wanted for her because she was crying about having either of those things done. He seemed to lack common sense in say in front of children. I felt very belittled the entire appointment and will not be seeing him again. I would not recommend him for anyone, especially anyone with children.

I took my two year old daughter into to see Dr. Sweall as she needed to have tubes put in her ears. He was very kind and informative. He made sure he talked me through the whole process and what to expect. He even called me personally the next day to check to see how she was doing.

The staff at ENT was very pleasant up until Dr. Sewall. He seemed to be running behind schedule, as he didn't come into the room until about 20 min past my appointment time and generally rushed through the process. I was referred for concerns about a mass on the left side of my neck which to date no one seems to have an explanation for. I've been experiencing difficulty swallowing, and although I'm young and otherwise healthy I have extensive family history with cancer so my primary Dr has been very thorough in getting everything looked into. He basically dismissed all of my concerns and made it seem like I was making something out of nothing. He didn't provide any helpful suggestions as to what it could be, and even said he doesn't think any future examinations my Dr has scheduled are unnecessary. He said it could be a lymph node, although labs and a CT were done to them already and they're normal. He then said it could be stress or reflux. I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed.

Bad bedside

I had a L stapedectomy. All my appointments with Dr. Sewell and staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Sewell explained my upcoming procedure well and entertained all questions. Bedside manner was comforting. I felt very optimistic in his care. He also called the day after to check on me.

This physician seems to be informed and seems to care. It's his current situation with his nurse or assistant that ticked us off with her one size fits all mentality regarding a child with a 10 + year history of allergy and immunology difficulties. We've had enough of the eye rolls and opinions of people like her. The fact that we have / had to deal with her instead of Dr Sewall directly is why we would not recommend.

Rude, pits patients through more testing than needed, and will not see him again.

Dr. Sewall is an excellent physician and surgeon and we would not trust anyone else with caring for our daughter. He explains procedures thoroughly and makes himself available after surgery even personally calling to follow up on post surgical recouperation. We are lucky to have such a talented ENT doctor in our area.

Terrible.

He is a solid doctor. Caring and straightforward. I REALLY appreciate he told me what he thought was going on - not just what he thought I wanted to hear.

Dr. Sewall took time to explain things to me and, importantly, also to my son. I appreciate the fact that he called us at home the day after surgery to check in. He is an excellent surgeon and I would highly recommend him. My son wants me to add "and he loves dogs too!" :)

I was referred to Dr Sewall by a friend. I was willing to travel to get his opinion of a chronic problem. His diagnosis, explanation and patience definitely deserves 5 stars.

Very kind doctor. Easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him.

I had been told by several walk in doctors that I had chronic sinusitis. I was ready to be be scheduled for sinus surgery due to the chronic pain i was having. After being seen by Dr. Sewall, it became clear I did not have sinusitis; instead I had migraine headaches. Thanks Dr. Sewall for listening and to me and using your expertise to diagnose me correctly!

Dr. Sewall was amazing to work with. I had seen him a couple of times over the course of a few years regarding my enlarged tonsils. After working with me, it was determined it may be best to have them removed. I had read so many horror stories about how terrible the surgery can be, but recovery went well, and I didn't need anything stronger than ibuprofen while recovering! Dr. Sewall's care during the surgery was stellar and he didn't cause any extra trauma in my mouth or throat.

My daughter has had hearing difficulties for the past 15 years. Dr. Sewall is and always has been wonderful with her. He explains things clearly, takes time to answer questions, is reassuring. His compassion and consistently thorough care has inspired my daughter to want to pursue a career in pediatric ENT.

It has been almost 4 years since I've seen Dr. Sewall, but wanted to give him the credit he deserves! I traveled hours to see him as I had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He was very kind, explained things in a way I could understand and made sure any and all of my questions were answered. My incision is near invisible, not many people even notice it without my pointing it out (and I am not a heavy person where the incision might hide in a skin fold). I have been told by many that I had a great surgeon and am very lucky. I am still cancer free and am very thankful to have been under Dr. Sewall's care! Dr. Sewall was very friendly and patient with my mother who has Alzheimers. It is sometimes difficult to get to the bottom of her issues because of her deficits but Dr. Sewall was able to play detective and uncover her problem. Working with such a kind man has been a pleasure.

Very thorough & professional. Explained the procedure in terms that were easy to understand and most importantly the surgery he performed was a success.

Felt like he was angry off I was there. Very rushed and short with me if I asked a question.

He was professional, kind, and gentle. I have seen him as a patient and also have taken my children to him. My children felt comfortable and well cared for.

Dr. Sewall treated me for a chronic sinus infection. He is a very dedicated Doctor who is committed to the well being of his patience. I would highly recommend Dr. Sewall to anyone!

Make sure when you visit, you are not being billed for surgery. Communication with this doctor and administration is poor. Make sure you know what your co-pay is before you see the doctor. One would think that this is standard operating procedure, but it was not in my experience. I made an appointment with the Ear Nose and Throat Associates of Wausau because I needed to ask a specialist on what he could do for me for my snoring and to remove my ear wax. He removed my ear wax (5 minutes, lots of nurses watching). Then he looked in at my nasal passage with a tool and told me that there really wasn't much he could do for my snoring. When I got my explanation of benefits statement, there was to surgery charges and I was obligated to my surgery co-pay charge. I was shocked that I had gotten surgery and was not even aware of it. Again, make sure you know what your co-pay is prior to committing to the appointment.

Dr. Sewall did well with my tonsillectomy. However, at my follow-up appointment, he said everything appeared normal, and reiterated that every time I told him about my continuing symptoms. I have had throat inflammation, sinus inflammation and plugged ears for a long period of time, and the symptoms have not improved - even 3 months out from surgery. Now I am on antibiotics prescribed by Dr. Sewall and am still not improving. I have heard many good things about Dr. Sewall, but have been frankly disappointed in his lack of caring in my case.

I was very unhappy with my initial visit to this doctor. I was treated rudely by the doctor, who talked down about other medical professionals, and made me as the patient feel like my symptoms were not important nor cause for concern. Instead of offering me more information to help me understand, he simply stated that he knew what was 'not wrong' = NOT HELPFUL! I would not recommend this doctor for his bedside manner, his knowledge, or his professionalism!

Dr Sewall is caring and professional. Did a gread job with my child, surgery went well and have seen HUGE improvement. His office staff on the other hand leave something to be desired! They were very rude and condesending to me. It is hard to get an appt with Dr Sewall in the office that works best for me. I was trying to arrange an aftercare visit for my child and was told that if I didn't like the appt that was offered to me that it was just to bad. He see's many patients and can't fit everyone in all the time. WHAT?????? If it were not for the great care we received from him, I would have saught medical treatment elsewhere!!

After no success at another medical facility treating me for a hole in my eardrum - and two failed surgeries at the initial facility, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Sewell. Finally - after all this time - the surgery was successful and hearing is restored! I would highly recommend Dr. Sewell to anyone and am grateful to have been blessed with his care of my ear.

Didn't listen to a word I said even after asking about my symptoms. Then persisted to tell me that I didn't have what I thought I had. Then after doing a CT scan that showed otherwise he said 'I'm human, I have the right to be wrong.' He also perscribed me a medication I was allergic to after I told him atleast 3 times that I was allergic to a certain ingredient in some medications. So then after paying $100 after insurance for a medication I go home to take it and get really ill. Luckly my throat didn't close like it has in the past, but I did have to deal with a whole array of irratating side effects.
