Going to the dentist is never something one looks forward to however, the wonderful staff at this practice make it a much better experience. Dr. Shiotsu and Dr. Tam are friendly and genuinely care about you. The entire team is professional and caring and make you feel as if you are part of a family. I highly recommend!

Recently I fell and lost one front tooth while damaging the other. Dr Shiotsu very kindly and quickly saw me the next day- handcarving a temporary front tooth so I could face the world! Everyone in this office- drs Shiotsu, Tam, the receptionists, assistants, the hygienists- All are so kind, so professional and so caring. I am so fortunate to be a patient here. I always experience apprehension going to the dentist, but my fears were allayed after seeing Dr. Tam. He is patient, friendly, calm and professional. He takes the time to explain procedures and to make sure I’m as comfortable as possible. I have also seen Dr. Shiotsu and he is outstanding as well. The entire team go out of their way to be responsive, caring and accommodating. Top-notch office! Fantastic experience. Broke a tooth and was brought in as soon as the office opened. Dr. Shiotsu did a fantastic job reconstructing the tooth. It needed a filling removed, added support for a new crown, and resurfacing before the temporary was put on. Painless! I really appreciated that he got me in so quickly when I know he must have had a busy schedule. Additionally, his office staff worked to to ensure that the permanent crown could be placed before I leave for a trip in 3 weeks. Incredible people!! Fantastic experience. Extremely poor experience. I recommend avoiding this place. Arrogant doctor's attitude making unvalidated assumptions and being wrong on multiple occasions, unexperienced assistant (constantly hitting my teeth with his tools) at the same time next to hazardous conditions of the office (tiny rooms, holes in the ceiling, water stains. Renovation was due for the last 10-15 years.). Some of the dental work was fine, however, some of my concerns and questions were actively ignored by the doctor. The administrative staff is very friendly and professional, payment options are limited (charging fees for debit card use, only taking checks without extra processing fees). Overall - stay away, there are better dental places that are run by professional doctors with a customer-friendly attitude. Extremely poor experience. I recommend avoiding this place. Prompt and excellent care.

Efficient, excellent care, and nice staff

I would like to share how professional, courteous and helpful the entire Staff are at Dr. Shiotsu's Office. They get the job done efficiently, safely and smoothly. Outstanding, experienced, skilled dentist! Thorough and efficient. Referred to him by my previous dentist who was moving out-of-state and told me this is the dentist he would personally use for his oral care. I've been very pleased with the work he has performed. Dr. Shiotsu has been my dentist for 20 years. He is an excellent dentist and the office and his staff are extremely organized and professional. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

I was seeing Dr. Ryan Tam for my annual screening. It's a very good experience as Dr. Tam gave me precise information based on diagnosed evidences and discussed his plan throughly. I was also very impressed by his emphasis on how good habits can go a long way in building general teeth health - that's a sign of what a good doctor should care about in my opinion. I started going to Dr. Shiotsu once my dentist retired. He is fantastic. I needed a crown replacement. The temporary crown that he put in was better from a fit and function than the original crown. Now I have the permanent crown and it is perfect from all aspects.

This review is in response to the 8/19/19 one-star review by "Anonymous." I am a health care professional and must respond. I am sorry that "Anonymous" had an implant failure. But no health care provider can guarantee a perfect result every time. Sometimes we really don't know why treatment failed on a particular patient, because every human being is different and comes with a whole set of unique problems. Also, "Anonymous" inferred that Dr. Shiotsu is not a "specialist." In fact, he has had 7 years of post-dental school specialty training, including 5 years in Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. His diplomas are on his waiting room wall for all to see. But the comment that bothered me the most was that "Anonymous" had spoken to an MD and an "implant specialist" and they had given their opinion about Dr. Shiotsu's prescribing antibiotics when neither of them knew anything about her case. This is HIGHLY unprofessional and unethical of them!

* I had two implants done by Mr. Shiotsu. Both failed. When asked what could have been the contributing factors, he repeatedly replied, "I don't know". * He prescribes high dose of medications without explanation. When I consulted my primary care Dr. and an implant specialist, they adamantly advised against such medications for the type of dental work I needed. If you need dental implants , I highly recommend you see an implant specialist. You'll be glad you did. * He underestimates the intelligence of his patients who may not hold profession of his choice. He dismisses patients fears, and ridicules patients questions. He clearly discriminates. * Hard working staff, unfortunately, high turn over of assistants and hygienists.

Dr. Shiotsu has done an amazing job for me over many, many years. I would highly recommend him for anyone who wants a perfectionist in what he does.

Dr Shiotsu is the consummate prosthodontics dentist. Can't say enough good things about him personally and his technical expertise. I had extensive whole mouth reconstruction and it took a while but he got it 100% right. I couldn't be more pleased than I am now. Thanks Dr.

The office is expertly run and creatively decorated. The professional space is very clean and comfortable. The staff is well educated and skilled and very respectful. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth is great. She was gentle yet really got after my caked on sugar bugs. No down talking about my non daily flossing habit either. The office is very good about explaining the science of oral care. Best of all, they don't sell services or procedures that are unnecessary. Dr. Shiotsu is very kind and has great chair side manor. Getting a crown is never fun. However, my confidence in Dr. Shiotsu is so high that I almost fell asleep during the lengthy procedure 5/25/17.

If you value your natural teeth then Dr. Shiotsu's office is where you should go. They are respectful, caring and most importantly, highly skilled!

I know I'm in good hands. Staff is friendly. Scheduling is easy. Follow up on procedures and responding to dental situations has been great. I've been going there for over 10 years.
