Gerard Joseph Meskill

All visits are thorough and in unique circumstances, Dr. Meskill takes extra scheduled time for more discussion. He has a laid back professionalism with empathy and excellent listening skills. Listening between the lines is an art. He has no problem admitting something is outside his expertise. I became his patient approx 8 years ago when he was with a top doctor in Houston and has the training that surpasses any in his specialty. His personality is very good for all patients, but especially those who are "doctor shy" and those with TBI and Chronic Pain who typically have sleep issues. He is the rare doctor that is reachable through a portal he and his staff uses. Highly recommend.

I would love to book another appointment but Dr Meskill seems to be unreachable. Lyndell Reid 713-502-0735. His office sent me a release of records which I returned on 12/01/2020. I never heard another word from his office although I have called numerous times. Guess it’s time to find another doctor

Extremely professional, I did not encounter any of the issues other reviewers mentioned here. He was not rushed and was very polite. After a week of wearing a cpap I'm already sleeping better and clinching my teeth less.

I recommend Dr. Meskill to ALL of my friends and family, and even to a few enemies. ;) Dr. Meskill is a highly-trained, well-respected, patient-friendly, down-to-earth doctor. His easy-going personality, passion for all things sleep and brain related, and his love of people, make him one of the very best sleep medicine doctors there are out there. The sleep specialist in the Houston Methodist system I met with for a second opinion on my diagnosis shared his opinion of Dr. Meskill: he is at the top of his class, and he is very well respected by his peers. The Houston Methodist specialist reassured me that I was in excellent hands with Dr. Meskill. If you are looking for a sleep specialist who is a trusted leader in his field, one who is patient, patient-friendly, research-savvy, and an all-around good human being, Dr. Meskill is the one to see. I only wish I found him sooner! P.S. I wouldn’t trust the negative reviews, especially given the comments (read: the lack thereof).

In addition to sleep apnea my wife has heart, parkinson and back pain issues. She works with 12+ specialist doctors. Her experience with Dr. Meskill is superior to her experience with her other doctors because -Dr. Meskill forms a great patient relationship-takes the time to address her sleep issues and even makes helpful comments about her non sleep issues. Dr. Meskill is caring, articulate and extremely thorough.We recommend Dr. Meskill to all our friends with sleep apnea issues.

Dr. Meskill is a wonderful doctor who cares deeply for his patients and his work. I have comorbid conditions and I struggled to get my narcolepsy under control for years before I saw him. He has helped me tremendously!!! My sleep was incredibly fragmented and now it's normalized. He spends nearly an hour with me during visits and explains everything very well. In fact, it's comforting because he can explain the exact reasons I experience certain neurological symptoms. He is very intelligent and direct, so I leave my appointments with a better understanding of my condition. I am confused by the feedback others left because it's the exact opposite of my experience. Perhaps it was intended for another doctor?

He saved my life. He validated me and my suffering when nearly no other doctor did. I am so grateful doctors like him exist. I referred a friend to him and he gave her her life back too. 10/10 would refer all my friends and family to him if they were struggling with a sleep condition.

Dr. Meskill has been by sleep physician for many years now. I suffered from sleep apnea and he oversees my CPAP care and treatment. I find him to be an excellent physician with a fantastic bedside manner. He is a good listener and he is very knowledgeable. His medical skills and competencies extend beyond simple CPAP treatment. For example, through CPAP treatment and prescribing medication for my restless leg syndrome (RLS), Dr. Meskill has made it possible for me to routinely achieve a restful sleep each night. I am no longer tired and sleepy in the daytime and I am able to give 100% effort to my job. Dr. Meskill has changed my life for the better and I am extremely grateful for his thoughtful and attentive care. Among the many physicians that have treated me over the years, I believe Dr. Meskill is clearly in the top 1% in terms of concern and care for his patients. I highly recommend that you seek his services if you have any concerns about your sleep health.

Poor bedside manner as mentioned below. Misleading and one of the worst experiences with a doctor.
