Dr. Geoffery Engel

I really felt Dr Engel listened to every word I said and evaluated my case in a full and professional manner. He also explained the treatments available and the reasons for choosing the recommended treatment.

I had a problem with urination, there was a blockage caused by prostate, I asked him to give me something to loosen up but he said there is nothing like that available. He only gave me the same pills that I was taking before. After a few visits and many tests I went to another doctor Sosenko , he gave me two other pills and the symptoms disappeared on the same day after one visit. I feel like a newborn I have no problems urinating , I have been sick for almost 10 years. also the nurse in dr Engel clinic who took the blood was very unpleasant.

I went to Dr. Engel to get a second opinion. From the moment he entered the door, he was rude, condescending, and dismissive. Every time I attempted to explain something to me he interrupted just to be dismissive of my questions and concerns. He is - by far - the worst doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. I’ve been to Northwestern to see a doctor in the neurology department, and he was absolutely wonderful. I am just upset that I put up with his rude behavior. He is awful!

Dr. Engal was the rudest, most obnoxious doctor I have ever been to. He was very dismissive and belittled my concerns - repeatedly! I went to him for a second opinion. That was a big mistake. I do not feel, however, that Dr. Letco is reflective of the wonderful doctors and healthcare professionals at Northwestern. I have been treated by doctors in the neurology department there, and they were wonderful. I am grateful now for my compassionate, dedicated doctor - Dr. Letco - at the University of Chicago. Dr. Engal could learn a lot from him.

After my 2nd appoint, I understand his bed side manner and was impressed. Down to earth and I felt a sense of care from him as well as the staff.

He's a great physician and a caring human being. I never knew him until I needed his expertise almost 25 years ago. How blessed I am that our paths crossed.
