was going to this dr. and decided not to go back since communication with the dr. is horrible as her secretary is an older person, and not really with it, and was very frustrating waiting for answers for days, weeks, and since you can never speak directly to dr. all was lost in translation, very frustrating.

I am very happy I came a cross Dr. Centurion. She has seem to understand my personality and responsibility as a patience so she listen and respect what I have to say about my development and acts accordingly.

I have been a patient of Dr Centurion for well over a decade and she is definitely one of the good ones. She is quite knowledgeable and non judgemental. Moreover she is a person with great humility and empathy. Though it's a sad reality at times that there are those with apathy and only about pushing product she is quite the opposite. Here's to her! After reading Dr. Centurion's contribution to an article on "Quitting Alcohol" in the March 2015 issue of Allure magazine, I have to question her knowledge and experience as an addiction psychiatrist. Methods she describes are attempts at controlled drinking and do nothing but prolong the disease. Suggesting "just" sleeplessness and anxiety are normal symptoms of non-dependent withdrawal is naive at best. Suggesting further that tremors can be treated successfully with valium is downright dangerous. Stating that nine out of ten people who DRINK TO EXCESS are not alcohol dependent may very well keep someone active in the disease who may have otherwise sought help. What study or source is cited in that statistic? Someone in NY should really check this out. Scary. Despite her location on the Upper East Side and all the stereotypes one would usually associate with such an upscale location, Dr. Centurion has proven to be an unusually open-minded, highly-intelligent, highly-educated, and most importantly, extremely compassionate therapist. I have been her patient for years and have been continually surprised by the genuine interest and empathy she has shown in the face of the crippling depression I once suffered. I'd like to add that one of the negative reviews Dr. Centurion received was written on my behalf. A doctor friend of mine found it objectionable that Dr. Centurion prescribed Ritalin to me despite my history of substance abuse. However, I specifically asked for the Ritalin and I believe that Dr. Centurion was justified in prescribing it because of the severity of my depression at the time. I had absolutely no will to get up in the morning and found that the mild stimulant effect of Ritalin helped me to function through a very difficult time.
