I had a facelift and quad Bleph with Dr. Richards. I am so happy and I have recommended all of my friends to him. I feel so much younger. Everybody says I look like a different, happier person. I will be coming back!

I’ve known Dr. Richards for more than 30 years. He’s an excellent surgeon and a wonderful person who sincerely cares about the quality of his work and the wellbeing of his patients. Several years ago when he performed my facelift which included fat transfer, a brow lift and lower and upper blepharoplasties, the results were exceptional! After six months of healing the shape and proportions of my face looked very natural and the surgical stiches were next to impossible to find. For close to ten years the results of that truly transformational lift remained virtually unchanged. Yet with Father time refusing to take a break and the effects of a recent 20 pound weight loss it’s time to call on Dr. Richards to perform another miracle. Next week I’ll return to him, without hesitation, for full facial fat transfer and an upper lip lift (where’s my upper lip, I can’t find it!? Just another part of aging, dang it!).

Would recommend both Dr Richards and the entire Cosmetic Surgery Associates staff. I've gotten both liposuction and botox and have been pleased with the results. Prices are fair and transparent-no hidden fees. Both Dr. Richards and Sissy (botox) listened to my concerns and questions and had thoughtful answers.

6 months post op and I am very happy with my results. Dr.Richards is so kind and listened to what I wanted. His nurses, the anesthesiologist, the front desk staff, and his surgical coordinator were also all very kind and polite. Such a great and stress free experience, he is worth the wait!

When I decided to get a mini facelift, I searched for many many months. I am someone that keloids real easy and I wanted to make sure I found a doctor who had a precise stitching technique to avoid visible scars. Then I found Dr. Richards in Bethesda MD. He had so many positive reviews and had completed this surgery with amazing success, I quickly scheduled an appointment. I waited a month to get a consult (he is THAT popular) and I was patient because I wanted the best. I even traveled over an hour to see him because it shouldn’t matter how far you go to ensure excellent results. Dr. Richards explained the procedure and the recovery process. The day of surgery was a breeze. All Covid protocols were followed and I went home with my face bandaged. It has been a year since my procedure and I do not have a visible scar! Amazing! My girlfriend also had a mini facelift but she decided to go to a doctor in our neighborhood and her scars are so visible it’s sad.

Great experience and great results with Dr. Richards . First and for most the staff is also amazing. My first person of contact was Mariah, and you could not tell me we weren't girlfriends lol . She helped me with my size picking, she knew exactly what i was looking for. And 3 weeks post op i can say for sure i got exactly what i wanted. My girls look amazing. I got an auguementation and a lift (the donut lift) and even my scaring is so minimal . I am so pleased. Dr Richards is a charm and a talent !. He even accommadated me with a hotel room because my surgery was a little bit delayed. He clearly didnt have to do such thing but i thought that was really kind of him. He made me really comfortable before into surgery. You can tell everyone there loves what they do and only aim to please and deliver the besg service. 68 YR. OLD FEMALE - (EYEBROW LIFT) I had a terrific consultation with Dr. Richards in his office regarding my droopy uneven eyebrows. They looked as if they were resting on top of my eyelashes! He was so understanding as he examined me, and also truly tactful as he confirmed cosmetic surgery was in order. By the time Dr. Richards finished explaining the specific details of his surgical plan, I had only one question to ask, "When?" The office staff is a highly knowledgeable, patient friendly team of skilled professionals. Dr. Richards was thorough in explaining my concerns and assured me that my concerns were minimal compared to the consultation with the other doctor (from a different practice). His confidence made me feel so at ease and I knew I made the right decision assigning his to tend to my needs. The patient coordinator Jennifer Fonseca was also outstanding! So I unfortunately had a very bad botched tummy tuck done in Korea in February 2021. Feeling terrible and needing help , I contacted Dr. Richards' office. As soon as I had the consult I knew he was the doctor for me. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Joanne the surgical coordinator for Dr. Richards answered my many questions along the way and went above and beyond to help me with information. - I was still in Korea and had to wait 6 months to have my surgery. I was recently seen by Dr. Richards for a Breast Augmentation. Dr. Richards and his staff made me feel very welcome from start to finish. Every question I had was answered and they were very accommodating. They were honest and explained what sizes I should be looking at for the results I wanted based on my height and build. I am one week post surgery and I will give my experience two thumbs up. Everyone was informative, helpful and very professional.

3 star is NOT for the doctor! Dr Richard might be an amazing 5 stars surgeon!! So, I came for an consultation from real self, I tend to look more doctors before I decide which doctor i will pick for my breast augmentation. I had real high hope on the doctor, now i still do. I mean Dr Richard has a good amount of nice reviews that is why i drove 3 hours back and forth to see him. The thing disappointed me was the whole consultation process, I drove a long way to their office, i was excited to see the real doctor Dr Richard, to talk and explain to me, but instead i was speaking with head lead patient coordinator Joanne Gildea. Ok, I mean thanks for your time and you are a wonderful sales person, and very enthusiastic and welcoming and beautiful! She took her time and very patient and nice. But unluckily I did not plan to drive to just talk to a sales person. I have visited several doctors offices, I have mostly spoke to the real plastic surgeon, of course would also talk to nurses sometimes as well, but mostly I talked to my potential future surgeon. When Dr. Richard came in he was smiling and a very nice guy! looked like a great person! and took few pics and probably stayed 3 mins, but it was NOT his fault. this office's whole process is just like that. the head patient coordinate already have arrange the doctor what to do and can just leave us alone, and she said everything was done and measured, yes, she measured me, NOT the doctor or nurse, I thought she was the nurse the whole time. after i came back home double checked oh she is not. I still do think Dr Richard probably a good doctor, but the whole process was kind of made no sense to me, also she answered all my concerns but she didn't really know what she was talking about, I am sorry i had to say that. for instance, she said: we want to insert implant through the crease, instead of around the nipple area, because we don't wanna lose sensitivity around the nipples." It is a false statement, you may or may not lose sensitivity no matter where the doctor choose to have the incision for the breast implant. it's about the nerve system instead of where to have the incision for the implants. I mean for me, or other patients, we as patients want to hear from a professional, NOT a sales person, also she told me the second consultation i don't have to come to the office if i don't want to. they took the measurements and will order the size of implants after i pay the deposits, money is not a problem for me. But the whole process doesn't make me feel as comfortable , to just order a size without doctor double measuring it? I didn't get the reassurance from them at all. I am sure other patients may drive even further than me to hope to talk to the real doctors not listening a sales person's opinion about the breast augmentation or any surgery they want to do. But it is just my own opinion and my own feelings about it, maybe some people are ok with only talk to sales person, but not me. I mean I still do strongly believe Dr Richard has really good skills and talents to do breast augmentation, Unfortunately, I am not returning to their office. I would go for a doctor who really talks to me about my concerns and the surgery risks and measure me himself and help me to decide which is the best looking on me and the most safest for my body as well. Dec 5, 2020 will be a year since Dr. Richards performed a rhinoplasty, a chin implant, and an S lift for me. I cannot express how incredible the entire experience was and has been. Dr. Richards and his staff are ALL amazing, kind, friendly, and professional people. They make you feel welcome and a part of their family. The surgery was easy (at least for me), with no pain whatsoever. And I mean none. I like how he went over the procedure with me and asked for my input on the day of my surgery to make sure he was clear as to what I wanted before he started the procedure. The experience was as great as could be expected. The whole staff was professional, competent, and reassuring. The atmosphere is clean. I felt it was a fair price. My experience with the entire staff at Cosmetic Surgery Associates has been nothing short of amazing. I had my first consultation with them over a year ago, and from my first consultation I knew this was the office I wanted to perform my procedure. I put in an inquiry online and within that same day Jennifer reached out and gave me more information and set me up with my first consultation and was very informative in answering any questions I had. Upon meeting Dr. Richards I knew that I was in good hands. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced and I believe his work speaks for itself. Due to financial reasons, I was unable to get my procedure last year as planned, but they allowed me to keep my pricing and allowed me to reschedule for this year. I finally had my procedure done on the 18th of this month. My treatment was so great that the whole time I was in the car on the way home coming off anesthesia, all I talked about was how well I was treated and how happy I was with the results even coming right out of surgery. I got very nervous once I arrived at the office the morning of my surgery, especially going in alone due to covid, but the entire staff just has such a calming and positive energy. My OR nurse was absolutely fantastic and talked to me the entire time up until surgery and it really helped calm my nerves, along with Dr. Richards. I honestly think I might have chickened out if it wasn’t for them. Dr Richards performed a tummy tuck, liposuction of arms / flanks and breast enlargement with crescent mastoplexy. I was very impressed with his ability to explain each procedure and how some were inter-related. His explanations were technical yet clear. I opted for the less invasive liposuction of the arms vs a lift, based on his guidance (when most doctors on RealSelf said hands down I should have a lift). He was right, in my particular case, liposuction worked just fine. This conservative approach was the right thing for me. All of hIs suggestions were spot on. I had an elective procedure performed here, and had an overall great experience. From the initial phone call for information, Mariah was incredibly positive and knowledgeable, and made me comfortable throughout the whole experience. Dr. Richards was very professional, and I feel that he did a great job with the procedure - I would definitely recommend his work. I do have a couple of constructive comments, however: my wait time to be seen at roughly half of my appointments ran to about half an hour past my appointed time, and I always felt that Dr. Richards was incredibly busy. It is possible that that is the case (he does great work), but I felt that my time with him was rushed and that I should have spent more time with him going over the procedure beforehand. I cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Richards and the entire staff at Cosmetic Surgery Associates. I was so nervous and so on the fence about getting a breast augmentation, but knew it was something I really did want to do.... I was so comfortable every single step of the way with his entire team. I am writing this outstanding review of Dr. Franklin Richards because I know how hard it is to find a good surgeon when you do not personally know one. Every medical practice’s website has photos of beautiful women so it’s impossible to determine a doctor's skills from the website. In my case, I had wanted a blepharoplasty for several years but I was afraid because I had seen so many women (and affluent women) whose eyes looked weird after their procedures (eyes too round, asymmetrical, etc.). I got lucky when my aesthetician told me she had seen Dr. Richard’s surgical results on her clients and they were exceptional. I made an appointment. Dr. Richard's was very easy to talk to and I told him of my fear of being overdone. He put my fears to rest with his professional and respectful manner. Dr. Richards provided such wonderful care and advice on my liposuction surgery. I went to four doctors to receive consults and chose Dr. Richards. He recommended liposuction versus a tummy tuck after hearing what I wanted to achieve with this surgery. I am so pleased with the results and happy that I went with this less invasive surgery! I love the results and can fit into my pants again after the stomach, flank, and inner thigh lipo. I look and feel great!
