Dr Frank Sellke is the best, he done my open heart surgery and everything went well as planned and as he said ???? I greatly appreciate his work and his staff are awesome, very friendly and all. Thanks Dr Sellke for everything.

Dr. Sellke performed open heart surgery (valve replacement) on me and it went very well. He visited me often in the hospital in the following days and was always caring and listened carefully to my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend him. The team he works with is also excellent.

My wife and I were very happy with the care and competence of Dr Selke. He spent a lot of time with us both before and after my surgery. No one wants to go through with valve replacement and bypass surgery. But if you have to get it and you live in southern New England, I strongly recommend you get Dr Selke to do it. He’s excellent at what he does and is a very nice guy as well.

Very caring, down to earth, and easy to talk to. Explained every part of the procedure, came to visit every morning and afternoon when I was in the hospital for six days. I would recommend Dr. Sellke to anybody.

On February 18, I was admitted to Mariam Hospital with chest pains. The ER doctor did two EKG tests, blood work, and then a chest x-ray. This showed a large aortic aneurysm. Dr. Selle was contacted and I was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for emergency surgery. While being prepared my aneurysm ruptured. My heart went into cardiac arrest and CPR was started. This was discontinued. My chest had not even been opened up. Dr. Sellke could have said: " Call it." But instead he began rapid emergency p during which time had to overcome my difficult challenges under very stressful conditions. This surgery last 5 and 1/2 hours. Because of his great skill and determination to do everything humanly possible to save me, I am alive and well today. It is a miracle that I have no brain damage as my heart was not beating for a considerable period of time. Dr. Sellke is a remarkable surgeon of the highest level. My deepest thanks to him and his team.

In Jan 2020 , I had an aortic value replaced . Was terrified about being cut open , having a giant scar and having open heart surgery at 50 ! Dr. Sellke assured Me the surgery would be a success, when I woke up in ICU I didn’t know what to think , however as my days in the hospital went by , Dr. Sullke not only visited Me daily , but also spoke to me in the hallway while I was working on my walking . The point is , he was amazing , answered all My questions, even the dumb ones and his office staff are just as nice ! I would definitely recommend Him ! Great surgeon and more importantly great guy !

I highly recommend Dr. Sellke. He explained things clearly, answered my questions, and accurately set expectations. Everything went extremely well for me, and expect others will have a similar experience.

Open heart surgery October 15, 2020. Dr.Sellke was excellent. Explained everything to my wife and myself. Visited me every day. Answered questions in a way that was understandable. Has a team of PA'swho were also excellent. Would recommend him to anyone requiring heart surgery. Rhode Island hospital and staff also get a five star rating. Very positive experience.

Five months ago my husband and I walked into Dr Sellke’s office for a 10 AM appointment to discuss coronary bypass surgery. Forty five minutes later he was wheeled from the office over the bridge and was admitted for a 6:30 AM surgery the next morning. Dr Sellke was easy to talk to and appreciated his encouraging manner and clarity of what the bypass would entail. This was at the height of the Covid so when I said good bye to my husband in the hallway at RIH I didn’t see him until I picked him up at the curb 8 days later. Dr Sellke kept in contact with me as did his PA team All easy to talk with and never once put off with my questions. I was in contact with the cardiac ICU unit during each shift change. The office staff in Dr Sellke’s office was always helpful and much to my surprise each time I found it necessary to call the office a live person always answered. A good experience overall.

One year ago, Dr. Frank Sellke saved the life of my husband, who needed emergency dissecting aorta surgery, which is as terrifying as it sounds and a condition few people survive. Every second counts and the actions of Dr. Sellke and his talented team at RIH saved my husband. Dr. Sellke is brilliant and fearless. He directs the Hospitals's Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and his team of PAs and cardiac nurses goes above and beyond to ensure every step is taken when it comes to the care of their patients. He would visit my husband multiple times every day, and his team treated my husband as if he was their own relative - I've been in other hospitals and never seen anything like it. I will never be able to adequately thank Dr. Sellke and his team of incredible professionals. I am just sooooo grateful they are in the world – saving lives and keeping families together. Wherever you live, if you need a heart surgeon, I encourage you to reach out to Dr. Sellke.

He was rude and disrespectful. Spent 2 minutes insulting the man I am caretaker of, and then left until a point was made that we had questions for him. His office staff was amazing.

Dr Sellke operated on me on 1/13/20 he did a fantastic job fixing my heart, you can trust this dedicated professional.

I had an aortic aneurysm and failure of the aortic valve. I was referred to Dr. Sellke. He was kind, thoughtful, easy to understand, and he explained what needed to be done and how he would do it. I went into surgery with a high degree of confidence that I would recover and be in better health once the procedure was done. After coming out of surgery, I was visited by Dr. Sellke each day I was in the ICU, and I received top-notch care from the nursing staff. They were always there when I needed them, and they were caring and kind. I was discharged just 4 days after my surgery. I cannot imagine receiving any better care.

My mother was very sick and was told she didn’t have much time unless she had open heart surgery. We went October 21 and she had her surgery, there was so many complications and near death moments. Dr Sellke was there every day and always informed me via in person or on phone of every step he was considering. He is a wonderful, friendly and very commutative regarding your family’s life. He did a wonderful job and I would recommend him to anyone I knew if they needed a heart surgeon.
