Dr. Firdaus Hashim

Dr. Hashim is a very thorough and knowledgeable physician. Since I have a very complex pain situation for my lower back having had two surgeries, I have had difficulty finding a pain physician who understands my problem and can support my situation. She is a realist and is constantly attempting to find different means to relieve my back pain. She is supportive and understanding and will do whatever it takes to assist in the elimination of pain. I highly recommend her

Horrible. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I NEVER do Reviews but I just HAD TO. This place is ridiculous. My first appointment lasted almost two hours (95%) was me waiting for her. I almost left but she saw me leaving and said she was going to be just a couple of mins so I just waited some more. My follow up appointment was today at 4:30 PM and I unfortunately got stuck in traffic due to a train. So I called and said I would be 10 mins late and would get there at 440. The front desk lady said that I would not be seen and would have to reschedule and that there would be $55 fee. I was shocked because normally it’s anytime after 15 mins that you have to reschedule at any doctor office but she said it was their office policy so I told her to have the doctor call me - and of course she DIDN’T. So I sent HER and email and asked why I was getting charged and she said the same thing - office policy and that she couldn’t waive it. Even said that I “didn’t know when I was going to get there” which is totally UNTRUE; I was VERY SPECIFIC with the time when I spoke to the front desk. It’s totally INSANE and completely unethical that she wants to charge me when it was NOT MY CHOICE to reschedule and I WAS coming - I can’t control traffic! Dr. Hashim saw me in a timely manor and greeted me with a cute "hello sunshine." We discussed the issues I am having with my back in great detail and came up with a plan to begin trying to isolate the issue and treat the cause. Glad I found the center and feel great about working with her.

I have had a decade of chronic pain and numerous surgeries. Dr Hashim has been wonderful in helping me deal with my pain. She is very compassionate and explained everything. She allowed me to make the decisions, while telling me the pros and cons. Great staff as well. Life-changing experience.

Doctor is very rude doesn’t believe the pain your in even with medical records. You’ll wait forever to get seen even if your the only patient there. She not children friendly I took my daughter with me and she ask me why I bought her.

I scheduled an appt here to discuss about getting a procedure that is targeted to help people with PTSD and anxiety. It's called a stellate ganglion block or SBG for short. I also scheduled consultations at other clinics as well because I had a hunch that the doctors were unfamiliar with this treatment. As it turns out I was correct, the other two clinics turned me away....The said they had never heard of it (this was somewhat expected as my PSYCH just learned about this treatment) Finally its the day before this appt at this clinic and I wasn't holding out high hopes. This was over the holidays...I remember because my grandmother unexpectedly went hospice about two days before I got the reminder phone call for my appointment. I explained to once of the ladies at the front desk I was having a family emergency and could i reschedule? She informed me that she was sorry about that and she will ask the doctor but I may be charged a fee but she will see if we can move the appointment. That was the end of our call. I probably should have followed up because nobody ever called me back to tell me what time slots were available. About a month later a get a bill in the mail for 50 dollars...not the end of the world, but I call in and explain everything and say "hey you said we could reschedule but you never called me to do so" before I could finish that sentence I was rudely cutoff with something to the effect of " no that's not true sir is says right here in the notes that we tried to move your appointment" this is the firs lie i got...nobody ever game me any dates or times. Then I explain listen can you just ask the doctor is she knows what this SBG procedure is and if she does it or will she turn me away like the other two clinics? Because those other clinics felt bad that they didn't know what the procedure was and felt like they wasted my time. To this i was greeted with something about HIPPA violations and she can't discuss anything over the phone. I know what HIPPA is and this is not a violation. This entire time the lady on the phone is raising her voice at me and cutting me off. Finally she escalates me to what I can only imagine is another person at the front desk because she was tired of dealing with me. This woman immediately is hostile, unprofessional and has a tone in her voice like she's going to put me in my place. I explain my situation again..look i'm glad to pay to 50 buck but ask the doctor if she can even do this procedure for me or will she turn me away? Long story short she tells me she's going to get the doctor on the phone. At this point I know they are both messing with me because they don't like me judging by their attitude and unprofessionalism and they put me on hold. I ask my GF hey are you hearing this? am I crazy or are they being absolutely rude and taking little pot shots at me? My gf who runs the HR office at a large company confirmed that she couldn't believe that were treating me that way and we both knew they were just gonna put me on hold and lay the phone down for a long while without helping me just to mean. But how long would they leave me on hold to talk to this doctor to ask a simple questions? 57 minutes is how long they left me on hold, before picking up and saying the doctor, Dr. Hashim was still busy and would have to call me back. I expected this to happen. So I waited for the DR to call me back even though I knew the Dr. never would, and of course the Doctor never ever called me back. I has been probably about 4 weeks now and I never got a call. The people at this clinic remind me of the places that are quick to take your money but once they get your money they brush you aside. One thing they should be reminded of is why they got into this profession in the first place. TO HELP PEOPLE, not bully them and take their money. I will make sure so write reviews everywhere I can because this was hands down the worst experience and customer service I have ever been apart of in all my years. -5 stars. I asked her if she could give me a letter for work with restrictions to not lift anything heavier than 50 lbs & her answer was “no I cannot do that for you.” She was never rude to me before until I told her that the injections weren’t working anymore & I need surgery. Very unprofessional! Ida or Lydia hung up on caller. Stated it’s not my problem. Will cancel appointment and charge you $ 100. They don’t verify anything through the insurance company prior to your appointment. Even the caller has spoke to them twice before appointment. They said everything was good with insurance co. Dr Hashim is one of the most caring doctors that I've had in a long time. She listened to all of my problems and asked good questions. I highly recommend her for any pain issues because she goes above and beyond.

The staff here is great, even with the recent changes. They are friendly and professional. Dr. Hashim is a fantastic doctor. She is firm, but fair. She follows the laws she has to in order to keep her job and her business running; in turn you have to follow the rules. She is friendly, funny at times, but still very professional.

I've been seeing Dr. Hashim for several years and I've been very happy with my care. I've had chronic pain and other health issues that makes my pain hard to control sometimes. Dr. Hashim always listens to me, and with her help we've found ways to control my pain with minimal medication. I have been seeing Dr. Hashim for over a dozen years. After seeing other Dr.'s and other procedures, Dr. took the time to listen and has been a tremendous help to me with managing my pain. She truly is compassionate even when it's just a needle poke. I'm grateful for having her and her staff.

Dr. Hashim has been my pain specialist for more than 10 years. Doctor also sees my husband and when diagnosed with cancer continued to manage his pain associated with that diagnosis as well. Dr. Hashim has provided me with numerous spinal injections over the years, in fact that is why I started to see her, after 2 years, I asked her if she would take over managing my pain medication. Dr. Hashim runs a tight ship, and through this we eliminated 3 medications from my regime, and many side effects went away. Following her protocols has given me a clear mind, pain relief, and I feel I am participating in life again. I have had 7 back surgeries, and don’t want anymore. Dr. Hashim’s skill with injections is the best I have ever had. Those injections have helped so much I have avoided further surgery. Worst employer in history, Was employed there for almost 4 years only to receive a raise because other staff members quit due to her abrasiveness and lack of respect. She will use terms like "I will not spoon feed you" however we are the one's spoon feeding her when we literally have to write down everything that already is in front of her face with a click of a mouse. She also will pull you out of patient rooms for no cause other then we forgot to put a date or name that she could easily fix however she will use the excuse that "she can't move past it or continue treating the patient" ALL a crock of bull! She has more respect and compassion for cats then she does for humans and displays that behavior with how she speaks and treats her staff and patients. I speak as a previous employee and not a patient although I was present when the patients would be treated so poorly along with the patients coming directly to me after crying or visibly upset due to her lack of bedside manner. Upon completing my two weeks notice she called my phone and left a nasty voicemail which I found tacky and unprofessional as I dedicated so many years and chose to tolerate her moods. If it wasn't for my family and upcoming wedding I would have quit sooner. She never admits fault in anything she does wrong or if it may be a mistake that she created, instead she will appoint blame on the computer or the "person" or the patient. So if you want to work for a hostile, bipolar, rude, condescending boss I recommend this place. She has so much potential to be a great physician with opportunity to grow however her own personality and God Complex is setting her back. I am not surprised at all to see her horrible reviews. If she calls me again I was told by the police Department I can file a harassment case which I intend to file should she ever call me again.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Hashim for a few years now. She has helped me manage my constant pain. If you’re looking for a great pain specialist doctor give her office a call.

I’ve been in severe pain for the last 25 years and no doctor could find the source. I’ve had too many x-rays, MRI’s and quite a few unnecessary surgeries. I was originally sent to Hashim so that she could “manage” my pain meds. She asked about my history and wanted a current MRI, reluctantly I had another one. Hashim was able to find what she thought was the source of my pain. I had my first epidural injection 2 weeks ago and was pain free within 2 days! She has literally given me a new life! I would highly recommend her to anyone!

I've seen Dr. Hashim for several years now to treat chronic pain. She's a great doctor that works to find the best solution for her patients. She's strict with the rules but with all the abuse in the news she needs to be. If you're serious about finding pain relief I'd highly recommend Dr. Hashim

I was her patient for many of the years I lived in Naperville(15) and wish I could continue with her because I got the most pain relief with her. And we had so much fun! She would tell the nurses I was the patient who made her humble! (because of my spinal condition and chronic pain)

I have been seeing Dr Hashim for years she is a GREAT DR she listens to your pain problems and will get you to get the best care for your pain problems I have never waited more than 15 minutes to see her she is very compassionate and has helped my pain decrease greatly she puts a plan in place for each patient to get the best care a nd her nurses are also well educated and very good listeners tp your pain concerns the my pleasant office and make you feel someone cares about you I am so Thankful Dr. Hashim is my pain Dr and I can live a somewhat pain free life from all her help

I recently moved from another state and chose Dr. Hashim because her office was close to my house. She is by far the worst doctor I have ever met, and she is very unethical such that I filed a report with the state, only to retract because the process is cumbersome and public. 1.) She took 3.5 hours during my first appointment; 2.) She immediately said I needed steroid injections in my back when I told her that I have had them for years and they don't work, and I already head 3 in the past 6 months (the limit is 2-3 per year). 3.) Post twighlight sedation for the injection, she is the only doctor that did not come out to see her patient (me) to check on me. 4.) After her injection did not work and I came back for an appointment, she sent her assistant in to ask me if I wanted another surgical injection, and when I said no, stormed into the room and exploded with anger. 5.) After I forgot the empty bottle of my medication which I absolutely need for pain due to a degenerative spine, two herniated discs and swelling from a recent spinal fusion, she refused to prescribe me medicine. When I asked if I could go home and get the bottle because I lived 3 minutes away, she said no and said she isn't going to prescribe me medicine unless I agreed to another surgical procedure. 6.) When I tried to explain my level of pain, she refused to listen and stormed out of the room; 7.) She kept the door open to my patient room during my exam and spoke so loud that everyone could hear my personal story and the lobby just starred at me when I left. 8. Her staff warned me, "she is crazy" and said, "don't listen to her." I wrote this review to warn everyone about my horrible experience and her unethical and un-compassionate practice. She is by far the worst doctor that I have ever been to and is unethical and not compassionate. She violated several laws by recommending procedures over limits and keeping doors open when meeting with me. She warned me that she would never prescribe medicine unless I did surgical procedures with her. When I did one procedure and it didn't work, she tried to force me to do more, and never checked up on me. Her appointments take 2-3.5 hours per appointment. She refused to listen to me as well

Waited for 1 hour. One patient before me and no one in waiting room. Patients should not be treated like their time is less valuable than the Drs. Would not recommend.

First off, Dr. Hashim runs late 90% of the time. Once you get used to that, everything is fine. She is an awesome doctor and will spend as much time with you as needed. I've been going to her for almost 10 years.

I have been seeing Dr. Hashim for 5 years. I have had 7 back surgeries and had been under another pain specialists care. She has helped me wean off unnecessary drugs and has worked patiently to assure compliance with narcotics. All my injections have helped over the years. I feel that she has given me back control of my life.

Probably the most unprofessional Dr practice I have ever visited. This was the most informative woman I've ever met. Very quick exam and she knew exactly where my pain was. Explained how it happens and how to manage it. Very nice, didn't just throw pills at me offers various actions to care and manage the pain. Love love love this doctor. I have already recommended her to 3 other people today. I have nothing negative to say. Staff was just as nice and professional as the doctor.

2 hours late for appointment after being called in 30 mins. Early at dr.s request. Extremely unprofessional, arrogant and rude. Has no voice mail, a tiny staff that is immature and also unprofessional. Dr. Came in for appointment 2 hours late, in street attire and made no attempt to apologize for the delay. Looking disheveled and unkept. When I questioned her about her lack of concern for our time, requesting an apology, she not only wouldn't apologize she cancelled appointment and walked out.
