Dr Ong seemed a little annoyed that he had to talk to me about a risky cancer surgery. He assumed I was "asking for the surgery" (his words) and while he did a good job explaining the procedure and risks, it was not until I told him I was sent to him to get his first-hand explanation about the surgery that he realized I was listening openly and weighing everything he told me. He was very forthcoming and I hope to have a second chat with him about the surgical option for my condition.

Great doctor with pertinent Information!!!!!

I was very impressd with Dr Ong's expertise, knowledge pf my case and other docs involved, his ability to listen and respond respectfully and carefully to my concerns and questions. I feel much more confident about my upcoming surgery, Including anesthesia, which I'm understandably anxious about given my age, conditions and recent surgical history. Much better communication than I expected.

Evan is an amazing surgeon and a caring human being. Cocky as a great surgeon should be without being arrogant. I wouldn’t be here as a 5 year stage 4 colon cancer survivor without him.

The title says it all. They say Seattle has the best doctors and unfortunately this guy cares more about money than his patients. A waste of traveling 2 1/2 hours.

I had a pretty extensive surgery where Dr Ong and my oncologist worked together. Spent 9 days in the hospital and could not have asked for more attentive care. From Dr Ong to his NP Susan to the 2 residents covering my case. Everyone deserves an A++. Dr Ong comes off as not only a very smart surgeron but his bedside manner is just so caring. In addition our pre op appointment left us with clear understanding of what to expect after surgery.

I believe this doctor does not review a patient's medical history. He does not go the extra mile to request a pet scan to ensure the patient does not have cancer. He proceeded to cut open the area, allowing air to increase the cancer growth Was told throughout his recommendations he said 'the good news is there is no cancer'. Patient was a Whipple procedure candidate even though they did not have cancer, however, patient was to weak for the procedure. He said a gastric bypass was only option. The day before bypass surgery, he repeated the patient did not have cancer. Once in surgery, found cancer in numerous organs, completed surgery, then told caregiver, about the cancer. Then upon request from the caregiver to read the 'final' pathology report, he refused, stating a nurse, or hospitalist, can read it to the patient and caregiver. perhaps this is why he does not allow his face to be put on this page.

Dr. Ong is very knowledgeable, well trained and experienced oncology surgeon. He is compassionate and did a great job explaining the surgical procedure to me with laying out all possible outcomes. He used layman terms to explain the highly complicated surgery. His knowledge and tons of experience dealing with Abdominal Sarcoma gave me and my wife the much required trust and confidence. He did a phenomenal job with my surgery. Recovery has been great. I would highly recommend Dr. Ong to anyone.
