Ladies - I strongly recommend Dr. Erin Crosby-Deverdis for your urologic-gynecology care. I cannot be more grateful for her comprehensive pre-surgical planning and guidance and expert surgical prowess for an extensive surgical procedure. She took the time to understand my complicated surgical history, clearly explained options with pros and cons, and proactively prepared for any complications that might have arisen. She clearly wants to understand your needs and exudes confidence as she develops a plan to provide for the very best outcomes possible. Not only did she perform a 6 hour surgery without complications, the end result of all that work was even better than I expected. I have worked with surgeons my entire nursing career - and I can only say I am highly impressed with her expert surgical skills, bedside manner, and patient centered approach to care. Albany Medical Center has a superb surgeon meeting the needs of women with uro-gynecologic issues, and as women, we are fortunate to have someone of this caliber available to us in this region.

I hesitated to have repair but am so happy I had it done. Dr Crosby was highly recommended and my experience was excellent .

She's one of the only doctor's I have ever seen that actually listens to her patients. She has done 2 surgeries on me, one to repair my pelvic organ prolapses and the other to place an interstim for overactive bladder. She's a great surgeon and a wonderful person. Highly recommended.

Dr. Crosby took the time to explain the procedure and what to expect after. She was very thorough with her visit and was wonderful post op. I would highly recommend her.

This my first, and only experience with a physician wh failed to communicate with me at all. I was actually in an examining room with her once but she wa totally focused on training a resident. I was referred to Dr. Crosby by my Gyn for a potential injury to my urinary tract. It took 3 weeks for her to review the referral, and I was the one who had to contact the office to finally schedule the appointment. I wasn't important enough for her to see, so she pawned me off on her nurse practitioner, and I hold her responsible for her mistakes. I waited 8 weeks to be misdiagnosed as needing estrogen, and told to come back in 6 more weeks. If it were a Gyn problem, my Gyn (who is a real doctor) would have diagnosed it. There was blood in my urine, but apparently that didn't concern her. She also seemed to think I was exaggerating about my pain level, because she asked me if it was really that bad when I doubled over and leaned against the wall after walking just 10 feet. I ended up in the hospital for 10 days for a raging infection that I'd obviously had for more than 10 days, 10 days later. I also have numerous masses in my bladder that were biopsied last week by a urologist who actually listened to and believed me. Absolutely the best physician I have ever met. Dr. Crosby is not only incredibly thorough with her exams, but also with her explanations. She explains pros and cons of all options and is very respectful of your autonomy. She took excellent care of me before, during and after my surgery. Her nurse practitioner is kind and knowledgeable and also treated me as a valuable team member in creating my care plan. Yes, she typically has a resident with her, and she appears to be an excellent teacher. Very highly recommend Absolutely the best physician I have ever met. I was so very happy with my visit with Dr. Crosby. She immediately inspired confidence and trust in her expertise and skill. She has an awesome caring manner that puts any nervous patient at ease. She patiently explains all options and respects her patients.
