Dr. Wexler's office is absolutely FILTHY in a way that makes spending $750 for a consultation appalling. When I saw first walked in, I was about to turn and run, but he already had my credit card information so I was stuck. That being said, his approach -- albeit awkward and clunky because of his being SO disorganized and constantly cracking Dad jokes while he looks at his computer and his phone buzzes -- was, in fact, quite helpful. He is clearly very knowledgable about medications and has an approach that felt reasoned, logical, and objective. It was a very unconventional approach, but ultimately, I walked away very pleased with the actual treatment.

I'm bipolar and told him that I got into a fist fight. Without any of his medical degree backing up his response, he straight up says I need to be smarter. Then he goes on with bad jokes all over the place not taking this serious at all. This guy is very unprofessional.

Dr. Wexler is exceptionally thoughtful, compassionate, and dedicated to the care of his patients. He treats each patient with dignity and respect, he works tirelessly, and he constantly strives to do the best he can for each patient and family in his care. This is critically important in any “helping” profession, but is particularly appreciated in the field of psychiatry. This guy made me realize how unknowledgeable and without forethought most psychiatrists are. I trust my mental health with him, and his decisions are why I am now happy more days than not. He isn’t just the erratic trial and error I’ve experienced with others and he doesn’t talk like that. He’s an academic and it shows. He knows studies and medicine details that most psychiatrists never explained to me and in fact didn’t know, leading me to have improper care for 5 years before coming to Wexler. The other reviewers frankly are impatient with gruffness and clerical errors - it’s mildly frustrating sure but unbelievably worth the expertise and medical strategy this guy can provide. Much preferred over someone who sees me every week but does little. Wexler is expensive and a phd, but a massive cut above the rest in my experience and vastly worth the money. He could’ve fixed my life sooner and for the same money I spent chasing other psychiatrists. Highly satisfied

Dr. Wexler is a consummate professional. He is always very engaged and willing to listen. How do I put down into just a few words that I would without reservation, trust this Dr. with my life. I have been a patient and will continue to use Dr. Wexler's services in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Wexler!

Terrible with Refills.

Wexler is good with diagnosis. He is TERRIBLE at providing refills for prescriptions he writes. He writes the refill wrong consistently despite patients telling him to fix it and his agreement that he will. He has done this wrong for three patients I sent him.

Dr. Wexler is a fantastic clinician who brings the unique perspective of a research scientist to his practice. He is flexible and willing to discuss the details and rationale behind his medical recommendations. In particular, I highly recommend anyone with a complex set of issues that has felt ill-served by mental health professionals in the past to consider scheduling a consultation with him. This guy only cares about money. He couldn’t care less about me. He prescribed the worst medication that I have ever been on. He kept saying to me “you just need to tolerate the side effects.” Please do not go to this doctor. He is the worst psychiatrist I have ever been too.

Amazing psychiatrist. Very helpful, without feeling like you’re “at a shrink”. Been seeing him for several years and hopefully many more. His knowledge of neuroscience and the way different drugs affect the brain truly distinguishes him from his peers. Highly recommend. Esp if you work at a law firm.

Worst experience of my life. He is very unethical, he shares stories about other clients and he lost my paper work numerous times. He eventually had to hire an assistant. I am glad that i left and that I am not putting money in his pockets.

This man is extremely unethical . The things he says, his disclosure about and opinion on other clients , his temper, his controlling and bullying ways. But most important to note is he’s dangerous . He overprescribes stimulants . He knew I struggled w addiction and yet told me I needed more of a stimulant I was recommended bc of low abuse potential . He told me that it was ok bc other patients are prescribed meth. He told me to shut up and told me I was stupid . Out of space here but lots more

Dr Wexler has a spunky personality. If you want the same ol' type of doctor don't come to him. He's funny and jokes and made me feel so comfortable. I have had numerous providers before him but hope to keep him for a long time!

It was one of the worst therapeutic encounters I have had. He asks you to fill out a very long history of your condition and barely looks at it when you meet him for your first consultation. He spends more time talking about himself and his credentials. His fee is $500 for the initial consultation. Spend your money more wisely. AND at the end of the session I asked him to write out a brief summary of out meeting. He asked me to reach out via email to remind him. No response . Very unsatified.
