Doctor Makenzie is an amazing doctor who preformed an open heart surgery on my newborn brother with down syndrome, he is turning 17 this July and we are so thankful for his wonderful work!

INCREDIBLE! Dr. Mackenzie is the best surgeon for pediatric cardiology. Not only did he fix my son's VSD in his heart, he made sure he wouldn't need any future surgeries as he was told by other doctors. If any child is suffering with a CHD, I would not take them anywhere else other than to see Dr. Mackenzie. He truly is a miraculous and compassionate surgeon who is our family's hero.

We are from Florida. Our daughter was born with a congenital heart defect. Her heart was repaired twice at Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL. They have since shut down their complex Heart Surgery Program. Recently it was time for another "surgical intervention" and we were going to have to find a new surgeon and hospital. Our cardiologist recommended Dr McKenzie. After doing as much research as possible about Texas Children's Hospital and Dr McKenzie, we flew to Texas for surgery. Dr McKenzie did an amazing surgery that repaired our daughters heart, while keeping mom and dad sane with regular updates on her progress. I would like to thank God for Dr McKenzie and the Staff at Texas Children's for he has given this group of people the skills that they have to save the lives of so many children. We are from Florida. It all started back in 2012 my son was only 5 days old and is now 5 years old today. Dr McKenzie and his team was AMAZING from the time he walk in the room. Dr. McKenzie was able to answer all my questions before I was able to asked them. My son had coarctation of aorta he was also looking at his mitral vavle which he was confident will grow as he become older. We still see a heart doctor once a year to monitor his mitral valve. I just want to Thank Dr. McKenzie and his team for EVERYTHING.

Amazingly talented surgeon. He gave our son a second chance when few people thought he would make it. My son is a developmentally appropriate 6 year old and I am eternally grateful. God be with you and your family, Dr. Mckenzie. If my son is to ever need surgery again, Don't be surprised if I bring him to your new location.

I am Addyson Watson's Nana. Words can never express my gratitude to you, Dr. McKenzie. You were her surgeon for all 3 of her surgeries in her 3 1/2 years of life. She turns 4 on Nov. 2, 2016. We, her family, can not say enough good things about you and how you have made her heart as strong as it can be. How many nights we've prayed for you and your team!!!! Dr. McKenzie is an amazingly talented surgeon. We have trusted our son's life in his hands 3 times for open heart surgery and he is thriving. I felt like he treated us as he would his own family. We are eternally grateful!
