Dr. Elmo Michael Agatep

Dr. A is better than a rockstar to our family. Additionally, he treats two of our sisters and their large families. He’s very professional and intelligent with just the right spark of wittiness for those of us who may get a little nervous at doctor offices. We highly recommend this super hero doctor!

In 2008, Elmo Agitap became the first doctor to figure out specifics on my having atrial fibrillation. Over the next six years, I worked with a handful of cardiologists, that finally turned everything around. In those hard years, I told my doctor that I felt like I was just going to get worse, and then die. It came down to ten hours of major open heart surgery that patched two holes, replaced two valves and zapped with electricity. Dr Agatep has what used to be called a good bedside manner. He is so reassuring, attentive and never rushed. He writes down what you should do and hands it to you, so you won’t forget. Whatever the ailment we ALWAYS FEEL BETTER after seeing him. And he is an excellent diagnostician. Wish he could be cloned.

Agatep is the best MD ever. lol. He is educational, attentive, and progressive. I recommend him all the time.

My wife and I had a bad experience with Sandra at the front desk. We are latino, maybe that's why, even though she is MEXICAN, you can tell. I preferred to not going there no more. The doctors are very professional and very nice persons but those ladies taking care of the front desk have different attitude with specific people.

This is the best doctor ever...informative, assumes you can walk and chew gum at the same time, kind, effective and takes charge of urgent matters promptly and efficiently. I've only seen him once, but I've seen my fair share of doctors (unfortunately). Sadly, most are non compassionate and treat you like an inconvenience. You wait 30-60 minutes for your scheduled appt yet they don't have 10 minutes to give you undivided attention. Well, that was NOT my experience with Dr. Agatep. He was very thoughtful, informative and listened to my concerns. I left the office feeling as though all my concerns were addressed and any issues that required lab work or referrals were set in motion. I recommended him to my husband for the next dr. visit he needs. A+ so far to this Dr. I've only seen him once, but I've seen my fair share of doctors (unfortunately). Dr. Agatep is a great Doctor. You can tell he really loves what he is doing. He knows a lot and if he doesn't know something he researches it and emails you with follow up info. He is very good at communicating. He writes note telling you what steps you need to take to resolve your health issues.????

Let me start by saying that I, my husband and my daughter have been with Seal Beach Family Medical for 13 years. My daughter even drives all the way from the valley because she likes her doctor so much. Physician care is excellent, but all of the support services, referrals etc. have really gone downhill since they affiliated with OptumCare. For example, I was in excruciating pain, referred to an Optum affiliate for an ultrasound and the ultrasound provider would not give me an appointment for 10 days. When I called the referral department to see if there was an alternative, I got voicemail, left a message that was never returned. I was not notified of the results of the ultrasound once I finally got it. Instead I got a computer generated message that a referral had been approved for a provider whose name I could not understand the computer generated speech was so bad, and a phone number. I called the phone number and got voicemail again - nobody to talk to and find out why I have been referred to a specialist, what was the problem, nothing. This would NEVER have happened before Optum. As another example, Seal Beach Family Medical used to use Memorial Labs for tests. There was never a problem. Now they use LabCorp and They are often extremely slow at reporting lab results to my primary and repeatedly neglect to sent the results to my husband's cardiologist despite repeated requests to do so. If I did not like my primary physician so much, I would leave this practice and find one that cared more about the quality of patient care. Under Tricare military insurance Dr Kimball and staff made us welcome. We've had great luck making appointments and visits with staff are awesome. Thank you all

I was afraid to go to a new Family Doctor after Dr. John Turner retired. I was referred to Dr. Agatep by another Doctor. He really cared and took his time with me. He gave me excellent advice. He is young, knowledgeable,energetic ,competent and very nice! I couldn't be happier.

Dr. Agatep is an amazing doctor. He truly cares about his patients and takes the time to sit down and really listen to the issues you are having. He makes you feel comfortable and cared for. I wouldn't want to see any other MD!
