Eliot Sorel

Right off the bat, he told me I was overweight and asked me why. No empathy, no eye contact. I wish I had stood up for myself; instead I babbled my way through an explanation. I'm so angry now looking back on that, and realizing how awful he was to judge me by my appearance. I would NEVER recommend anyone to him.

Dr. Sorel has incredibly poor bedside manner. He is consistently combative and rude, as well as wildly inflexible. He does not make me feel comfortable or cared for. His demeanor is extremely triggering, especially individuals suffering from severe anxiety. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr. Sorel took the time to set up a detailed treatment plan and really get to know me as a patient.

Dr Sorel talked over me the entire time I was working with him. While he may give good medical advice when it comes to medications, he wont let you get a word in edgewise. How can he actually advise you when he wont even listen to you? Exactly. He is a terrible doctor with the worst communication skills I have ever experienced. He also went to another doctor on my behalf and discussed my medical file. I never authorized him to do so nor did I sign a HIPPA release. This was an obvious violation of my rights and beyond disrespectful.

Helping a friend in need, I called around a few different offices listed by their insurance provider to see what their wait time was for new patients to get an appointment to save the friend that step since the person is already overwhelmed with life. I gave him my full name when asked and explained. He was very short with me, asked how I got his number (told him the insurance website) and asked what I needed curtly after I had just explained. I get that this might not be a typical call a psychiatrist receives but I explained a couple times that I simply wanted to know how far out a friend would have to wait for an appointment (as wait times can be tremendous and this was not sharing anything personal) so that my friend could pick up the phone to call someone who could help quickly. I ended the call telling him not to worry about it and that I wouldn't be recommending him.

Dr. Sorel is not only a lazy doctor (diagnoses based off of a 15 question online quiz) but he is incredibly rude. He frequently cuts me off, doesn’t answer my questions, never spends more than 15 minutes, and demands extremely frequent and costly check ups during which he doesn’t actually check in on you, rather just charges you.
