Please avoid this surgeon at all costs! He operated on my L4-L5 disc due to herniation and compression. His surgery failed mightily. I was in worse condition following the surgery than prior. THE BEST NEUROLOGIST IN THE WORLD DR PAPAVASILIOU IN CAPE CODE HE ALSO DOES HIS OWN SURGERY A PIONEER IN THIS FIELD

Visited Dr. Papavassiliou for a consult after an x-ray indicted a Chiropractor sheared the screw heads off implanted L5-6 rods. The Dr that did the initial surgery was a very good friend from BI in Milton but died from a sudden heart attack forcing me to seek help elsewhere. Dr P stated that my friend used hardware that was unnecessary and too light, and then said he'd use heavier hardware, which contradicted his statement made moments earlier. He intimated that my friend was wrong and that he knew better. Anyone that trashes a prior provider and contradicts themselves in the same breath means you need to run away and not look back!

I have had 3 surgeries with him. He always answers all my questions and makes sure that I know all the alternatives that I can try before booking my surgery.

The Doctor was thorough and considered my needs in his approach to my treatment. VERY professional and took the time to answer all of my questions. I felt confident with him as my surgeon and my results were excellent.

Run away from this FRAUD. This imbecile completely disrespected my elderly mother. He told my mother she might need to use a walker forever. He offered no solution and giggled like a bowl full of jelly as he told jokes to a trainee he had with him. My Mom didn't accept this guys advice and she has undergone two Vertebroplasty procedures and is completely healed! Mr. Papavassiliou marginalized my Mothers importance and his Staff REFUSED to make an appointment for 8 weeks from my Mothers hospital discharge date. She was in agony wearing a prehistoric back brace and they REFUSED to make an appointment. My mother has since found a real surgeon and is now completely healed. She walks 2 to 3 miles per day. If she had listened to this amateur, she would be using a walker!

Dr Papavassiliou’s third opinion helped me avoid two surgeries that were unnecessary. For two months I was experiencing excruciating pain in my shoulders, hips, neck, and hands upon waking up every morning. I thought I was dying. Strangely, my symptoms would disappear by afternoon every day. Rather than having surgery on a shoulder (labrum repair) and neck (spinal fusion-double discectomy) as I was told by two Ortho Docs, Dr Papavassiliou felt my problem was likely a rheumatoid arthritis related issue. His diagnosis was spot on and confirmed by a rheumatologist. After a year and a half of treatment, my Polymyalgia Rheumatica has run its course and I have my life back. Thanks Doc!!! I owe you big!! Thorough exam including images discussed with me, reviewed my symptoms and concerns about healing and recovery. Returned me to function after being bed-bound for 3 months. Excellent surgeon, helpful staff.

Dr Papavassiliou is a great doctor. He looked at my MRI and explained how it was causing my leg pain. He got me into surgery in a timely manner and the pain was fixed. He is professional and answered all my questions. When I called the office with more questions they were also answered right away. He is the best of the best.

When you visit a neurosurgeon usually its because you are injured to the point where your life has been seriously altered. I had hope when I first made scheduled the appointment. I left with no hope and no help. I have typical severe herniated disc with arm pain and ended up going elsewhere. No follow up tests ordered, no treatment offered whatsoever and serious display of unprofessionalism.

He saved my life as I know it. I needed back surgery from a car accident; I couldn't walk and I was 27. Now, at 30, I'm restored and living life! Thank you. This dr comes highly rated and recommended by friends and peers in Easton/ Brockton/ Milton!

During my visit with Dr. Papavassiliou and upon leaving my appointment I have never, ever felt that level of discouragement, disappointment and confusion. His demeanor was unfriendly and cold, but that I can look past. I live in chronic pain and he minimized it and basically told me live with it or take pain medication every day. Told me my back is fine (I have two herniated disks, arthritis and narrowing of spinal canal) It’s not fine. He did not go over MRI with me. Completely unacceptable.

Never even bothered to look at my MRI clearly. Extremely unprofessional, disgusting attitude when you ask any quesions, calls you crazy if you insist on ahowing him your mri report. Total waste of a day, and he shouldnt practice if be doesnt want to belp or even guide you in tbe right direction. I left there highly upset and it takes alot to set me off. His mannerism is atrocious. Never stepping foot there again.

I saw Dr. Papavassiliou for a second opinion. He not only agreed with the first opinion but was able to schedule me for surgery within a week of seeing him. Surgery was totally sucessful and horrible, stabbing neck and back pain was eleviated.

I am terminally ill with cancer, and saw Dr. Papavassiliou because of a fractured vertebra first diagnosed in October. I cannot even express how rudely I was treated by him. I was so appalled by his lack of professionalism that I told him off (and it takes A LOT to get me angry!) I am switching doctors and WILL NOT be seeing him again.

The consultation with Dr. Papavassiliou went totally awry... Looks like he did not read the referral (and didn't know the reason for referral) nor looked at Medical record. As it became apparent during the visit, he became defensive and rude... I have high-deductible plan, and pretty much paid fr this consultation out of pocket. I am totally disappointed as no question was answered, and had to pay for rather bad experience... I cannot say how good is Dr. Papavassiliou as a surgeon...
