I can’t say enough good things about this surgeon. And I am a doctor myself - I’m an anesthesiologist, and as an anesthesiologist- I had more fear about open heart surgery than the average person - I was sure he would be an excellent surgeon because of where he is practicing but usually the more talented the surgeon the worse the bedside manner - not for him , bedside manner was impeccable and he even texted me on my cell phone before I arrived at the hospital . This surgery was The hardest thing I have been through in my life and thanks to him it was easier because of him . one review will not show my gratitude for him but it’s a start . if you are lucky enough to have him as your surgeon - then know that I wish you the best and you are in good hands . I met dr. Soltesz when brought to cleveland clinic for heart problem I needed surgery. Dr soltesz took on my case to do my operation. Had surgery on jan. 18th. Thank god! I met him in operating room, spoke briefly. I felt comfortable and trusted him immediately. I was very lucky to have dr. Soltesz as my surgeon. He has a special gift. I had surgery twice with Dr Edward Soltesz. I remember telling him my biggest fear was waking up with the tube. He thought I was sleeping and I remember him sticking up for me in the ICU. Very nice doctor and he did a very good job. I lived a normal life afterwards and felt better. I may need it again. I am working to get him again as my surgeon. Dr. Soltesz, thank you for your surgical expertise in being able to perform all three coronary bypasses successfully on me. The surgical team did an excellent job in minimizing my post surgical during recovery. I am fortunate and grateful to have been a coronary bypass patient at the Cleveland Clinic. My post surgical progress has been very good! The Cleveland Clinic nurse practitioner commented I look good going in on my 6th week of post op recovery and I feel very good! This Dr is hands down one of the best. Very thorough and professional. My mother went in for a mitral valve replacement and a blocked artery and after talking with him pre surgery he had me very confident and comfortable. What a great job this Dr did with my mom also leaving a scar that is hardly even noticeable on her chest. I couldn’t thank this man enough for the treatment my mom received during her time in his care at the Cleveland clinic. This Dr is hands down one of the best. Very thorough and professional. What a piece of garbage doctor. I would NOT recommend him to anyone! EVER! Poor bedside manor and let my Mom suffer after she got an infection after her surgery. He refused to see her and kept trying to pawn his mistakes off and referring her to other doctors. He refused to see her even while she was as the clinic main campus. He knew he was in the wrong. This man likely saved my father's life. Thank you, Doc. Unlike other review, I think Dr. Soltesz has a phenomenal and humble bedside manner. He explained things clearly and concisely and performed his job with panache.
