Dr. Smith performed brain surgery to remove a tumor over 10 years ago and I appreciated his thorough explanation of the process and the care I received. I've had no significant problems following the surgery and live a very full life.

During my spinal fusion Dr. Smith cut 2 nerve roots and caused a meningocele which paralyzed me from the waist down. Many surgeries later to repair the spinal fluid leak, I transferred my care to another neurosurgeon who also made some mistakes which caused 4 more surgeries. I now have an implanted morphine pump which somewhat controls the pain, but nothing can help the weakness in my legs or the neuropathy in my feet. He has been called a poor technician in surgery by other medical specs.
