It's been over 2 years since my surgery with Dr. Freedman, as I wanted to give myself time to fully heal before making a judgment and writing a review. Dr. Freedman had a written and signed consent to repair a tendon on my hand, but he went beyond the scope of the consent and started doing another procedure. I was awake! We agreed to use a local anesthetic and not a general, and we were talking much of the time, so he had ample opportunity to ask me if I wanted him to go digging around in my hand. He basically destroyed the knuckle joint. I still do not have full use of my hand and I was a working nurse. Normally after the type of surgery I had, PT is ordered and 8 sessions should be enough to get the hand back on track. The Physical Therapist soon realized that something wasn't right and he was sending me to other doctors for consultations to see why my hand was not healing. Long story short, I was seeing other doctors and had to have a special motorized apparatus, called a Continuous Passive Motion machine, for several months, all on my dime. I asked Dr. Freedman to contribute to the cost, and he responded by calling me an extortionist. My hand only improved due to the assistance of other hand specialists and the amazing physical therapist I had. I realize that Dr. Freedman has good reviews, but I met patients in his waiting room, also unhappy about the results they had from Dr. Freedman. 26 months post surgery and I still have to do periodic physical therapy and I do not have normal use of the hand. And this was a simple tendon repair, nothing complicated. I'm saddened that he did not assume any responsibility for his egregious error in going outside the scope of the signed consent, nor assist financially for any of the medical expenses I incurred, which exceeded $10,000. Get many 2nd opinions before deciding upon this doc! The best!

Great receptionists, both very friendly. & Dr.Freedman is great! Will always ask you if you have any questions with a smile on his face. You can right away tell he cares about his patients.

I was terrified when I learned my broken wrist needed surgery. But Dr. Freedman put me at ease, was warm and very knowledgeable. It was also very easy to see him right away and shortly thereafter he performed surgery. My wrist healed beautifully and I’m able to do all my favorite yoga and Pilates classes without any issues.

I am approaching my third elbow surgery in 14 years with Dr. Freedman. The first two were to repair breaks in the bones utilizing pins and screws. This upcoming surgery is to remove a bone fragment. Dr. Freedman is my "go to" doctor. I trust him. I have recovered with no complications and I would highly recommend him (and have) to anyone looking for a highly skilled hand surgeon.

Dr Freedman has operated on me numerous times over the past 10 years. He is patient, reassuring, always explaining my options and has delivered excellent results from his surgeries. I wish all doctors were like Dr Doug Freedman!

I had a handful of Dr's that couldn't figure out what was wrong with my thumb. My MRI wasn't even picking up the extent of the injury. Dr Freedman LISTENED, he was patient, he believed me, he thought outside the box and figured out what was wrong with my thumb. My surgery went so well. Great bedside manner and very personable. I'm a Massage Therapist and my hand is my livelihood. He did a great job! He saved my career.
