I have been in extreme pain with my right hip, I came to see Dr. Couper with my hip issue and wanted an x-ray, he told me that for a women my age 65, I seem to be moving very well. He examined my hip and said it was a sprain and no x-ray needed. Sports Medicine I then went to and they found serious issues with my hip. Doctor Couper didn't listen to me as his patient and said I didn't need n x-ray. FYI always listen to the patient. Lucky to have him and the Martin's Point team.

I couldn't get a hold of my primary care doctor so I got a call from Dr. Douglas Couper at Martin's Point and told him I need a doctor to call in three prescriptions to the Walmart pharmacy so I can get the recommended travel shots for a discounted price since I was uninsured at the time. He said that shouldn't be an issue and that they'll be ready today. I changed my work schedule so I could go take these shots and low and behold, once I called the Walmart pharmacy, I received word that the doctor hadn't even called them yet and instead spoke to the travel clinic at the doctors office who were charging me $571 for 3 shots when I would've paid a little over $200 at Walmart. Finally, I got my real doctor, who I was unable to reach previously, and she sent the prescription in within a matter of minutes. This was after spending a few hours trying to find both a pharmacy and a doctor. Thanks to my doctor I saved about $300. Absolutely ridiculous.

If I could put negative stars.

One of the best experiences I have had at Martins Point Health Care. A truly good person, a great physician, truly cares about his patients unlike others at this practice. I would highly recommend Dr. Couper to anyone who is looking for a great physician, a caring person and a Doctor who has kept up with the most recent trends, information, training and just cares about his patients.

I had requested him when I first changed to Martin's Point because he is Internal Medicine Board Certified. Thankful I was in his care leading up to some major surgery. He was kind, thorough, and aggressive without being alarming. I hope he remains my doctor for many years.

Does a fine job - fairly on time - answers questions - not intimidating. Office not great at returning calls promptly but they have followed up well on long term problems

Very busy and difficult to see. Expect 3-6 month wait for an appointment. Nice enough guy.
