About Donald Stanley Stewart
Reviews for Donald Stanley Stewart
Very nice staff members. Doctor is extremely competent. Had foot surgery and everything went great! Will definitely go back to him again!
Dr. Stewart and his staff are excellent healthcare providers. He is very thorough in explaining the diagnosis and treatment plan. Plus he is a good listener and does not rush visits. It is easy to get an appointment and you don't sit in the waiting room forever. I would and have recommended him.
Dr. Stewart and his staff are very caring, helpful and professional. Dr. Stewart carefully explained my options to take care of my foot pain. I am very confident in him as I prepare for surgery.
I had a fall and suffered bilateral calcaneus fractures (fractured both heels). I saw Dr Donald Stewart the day (a Friday) after my injury. He performed surgery on the following Monday. I was in casts with no weight bearing for 2+ months. Dr Stewart realigned my heels, put screws in left heel, and put screws and a plate in my right heel. He is very knowledgeable & easy to talk to. He instructed & directed my recovery. He moved me from double casts to double ortho boots. Although Dr Stewart said my recovery would take 18-24 months, he released me from his care at 6 months. He did a fabulous job! My surgery and recovery was amazing. He and my PT gave me a multitude of exercises for range of motion & strength. Got me up walking in ortho boots. I have 100% of my range of motion and walk with a normal gait. At 8 months, I am able to run. I cannot say enough great things about Dr Stewart and his skills and abilities! Dr Stewart is an excellent surgeon. He performed a bone fusion in my ankle and I can do everything I did a long time ago before I started limping. I walk and hike and take very long bike rides like I used to do. Obviously I have a little less flexibility since there is no cartilage in my ankle but that was the reason I had to have surgery in the first place. DR. Stewart, over the past 2 years has performed two surgeries (Tendon Transfers on each of my feet and ankles. He also straightened my toes.). From the beginning, he has been courteous and straightforward. He discussed my options and what results to expect. The surgeries were successful. I would recommend Dr. Stewart to anyone who is having an issue with their feet or ankles. THANK YOU, DR. STEWART

After I had a Bi-Malleolus fracture of my Right ankle (during the Corona Virus), He was available to get me in right away, even with quarantine in full effect. I was seen in his office on a Friday, and after assessment he said I would have surgery in a week, due to my skin having quite a few "fracture blisters" and he wanted to be sure those healed a bit before operating. He addressed every concern I brought to him, and he gave valid answers that left me feeling confident and calm regarding my surgery. Even on my post op appointment he was quick, but very thorough and got to the point on where I was at and what the next steps were. I am in the healthcare field myself, and even run a couple of Urgent Care Centers in Dallas, so I know how important patient information is and communication is vital. He impressed me, and I will not hesitate to use him again, should I need any orthopedic needs in the future!
The best . . . fixed botched surgeries done by a podiatrist. Highly recommend.
Great Experience. Straight forward diagnosis and treatment plan along with solid advice on balancing performance with recovery. He provided great tips on staying fit, keeping up my schedule while allowing time for recovery and avoiding activities that put me at a higher risk for injury. Was also able to make some good recommendations on supports/compression sleeve that will protect my ankle as it heals.
My daughter had an issue on her right ankle OS Trigonum and had arthroscopy. He explained everything, everything went just as explained, her recovery was excellent. We will definately use him again if ever needed.
The longest wait time in a doctor’s office, I’ve ever experienced. They promised a refund on my copay bc I had to leave before seeing him. Still waiting on the refund.
I had seen doctor Stewart when I first took a tumble down some stairs and tore both ankle ligaments. He’s advised I would need surgery, yet I waited and after the swelling subsided spent the next 1.5 years struggle with instability and pain but stayed as active as possible. Because the ligaments can’t repair themselves I created more damage to the bones and cartilage. At one point I was thinking I had a stroke because my left leg and foot just wouldn’t move right. Running was out of the question or even a light jog. The impact was too painful. After some sobering life events I returned to doctor Stewart in greater pain and with more damage. He may want to respond with the procedures he did to my ankle. He examined me once again and advise what needed to be done. He and his team clearly described and provided resources to help me understand these surgeries he was going to perform. After the surgery I woke up and less pain than I had been living with for a year and a half. In fact, only did Advil and Tylenol for the entire recovery. I started physical therapy a couple weeks after the surgery and continued until I was able to outgrow the exercises they were having me complete. It has now been a full year since my surgery, I am actively playing tennis at an intermediate level, Mountain biking (clip in), some light jogging for short distances, and hot yoga to stay limber. Only wearing a brace in activity where I am cutting and turning. I can say, I have near zero pain in my ankle during and after activity! Dr. Stewart is blessed with great skill and a wonderful approach to getting patients back to a lifestyle they want to pursue. I am 50 years old and would say I am in better condition than I was before the fall down the stairs. My success tips: -Get surgery when advised -Have a passion to move -Listen and do what you are told -Share your goals with everyone that will listen -Understand pain is healthy, don’t cover up pain with medication. You may injure yourself by pushing too hard. -Push yourself out of your comfort zones and habits -Share and be honest to caregivers -Pray and meditate to connect to your faith -Have fun!! I came into his office due to ankle weakness. I was quickly getting to a point where I couldn't walk very far without my ankle giving out on me and falling over. I explained to Dr. Stewart that the issue with my ankle stemmed from an accident 18 years prior and had never been treated until I saw him. As I have a great fear of doctors and surgeries, we tried various methods to improve the problem. When none of these worked, Dr. Stewart was very sweet and kind in helping me come to terms with the fact that surgery was the only option as all others had been exhausted. He was very thorough in explaining everything. He pulled out a copy of an x-ray and showed me exactly what needed to be done. He explained potential complications during and after surgery (there are always risks in even the most basic surgery), post-op procedures, and potential lasting problems (some people may experience slight aching during inclement weather). The day of the surgery, he came to my room and talked to me. He made sure I was comfortable and as calm as I could be given the situation. The surgery went over well and I was home by that evening. Unfortunately, the pain medication he prescribed was not effective. My husband called him up that very day and Dr. Stewart was very quick in helping my husband get a new prescription that would better help in alleviating the pain. At the post op visits, Dr. Stewart was attentive in making sure everything was healing correctly. At one point, he had concerns there may be an infection starting and immediately prescribed antibiotics to help get ahead of any potential problems. He seems to be a doctor that cares about his patients and takes pride in his work. It has been almost 2 years since the surgery. I do not have any problems with my ankle anymore. I do not feel it during inclement weather, and the scar is almost non-existent. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Stewart to anyone. I came into his office due to ankle weakness. Dr. Stewart is a miracle worker! I had so many problems with my foot, but his superb surgery skills and medical expertise corrected it all. I’m amazed and blessed. Dr. Stewart has given me freedom to walk again.
Dr. Donald Stewart is someone who will not jump to surgery if an alternative might fix the issues. I did use orthopedic inserts to hold off surgery. However, if you do need to have surgery on your feet, look no further. He has performed and worked to perfect his skills in repairs of feet and ankles. He has found his specialized lane. He rebuilt both of my feet to correct severe bunions and claw deformed hammertoes. With the surgeries being over 5 years apart, he used new and improved hardware to stabilize by foot. He surrounds himself with a great staff to support his patients. Being able to return to a quality of an active life is such a blessing to no longer be in constant pain. Thank you Dr. Donald Stewart II!
Totally pleased with doctor and staff

I was able to get in quickly after an injury. Dr. Stewart was thorough and listened to my concerns about athletics and what I could/ could not do. Highly recommend.
Dr. Stewart is an amazing surgeon. He did two surgeries on me and I have referred quite a few of my friends to him, especially those who are physically active. He knows we want/need to get back to our normal active lifestyle as soon as possible.

He is very personable. Explained things in terms I could comprehend. Willing to answer as many questions as I needed. I was able to go into my surgery with confidence, even thought I wasn’t sure exactly what Dr. Stewart might find.

Doctor Stewart and his staff are awesome. Your search is over for the best foot and ankle surgeon. IMHO
I work as an aircraft mechanic. I fractured my ankle at work. Dealing with workmans comp insurance is intimidating. I found Dr Stewart though social media reviews. I feel very fortunate to have found such a skilled man. Dr Stewart performed surgery to repair my ankle. I have had a fast recovery and have good range of motion. The staff at his Mansfield office is top shelf. At no time did i feel discrimanated against because it was a workmans comp injury. Thank you!!
He is an amazing physician. Doctor for TCU football team, had know Idea. Really care for his patients over well being.

Dr.Stewart is a phenomenal surgeon, his skills as well as empathetic bedside manner makes you feel at ease, he takes his time to educate the patient on what is going on and what is required to fix it. That is vital to me as a healthcare worker of 24 years I can spot a gem of a doctor a mile away and he is it! Thanks Dr. Stewart.
Dr Stewart has save the use of my left foot. The first surgery I had was performed in the city in which I live, Wichita Falls, Tx. That doctor really botched things up. Two years later Dr Stewart tried to repair the damage and everything went well for five years. I recently had to have surgery again and the results are great. I would have and will continue to recommend him to anyone needing foot surgery.

His office squeezed me in for an appointment at the last minute, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated him making a thorough assessment and presenting me with my options for treatment. Fortunately, my injury was minor, but if I do ever get a more serious one I will definitely consider going back to see him.

Before surgery I was in constant pain in my right ankle from a fall down the stairs. Dr Stewart gave me many suggestions to try before surgery. After 6 weeks of physical therapy, we decided to try an ankle tendon scope to find the issue. During the scope, Dr Stewart found the problem, fixed it with a new inner brace, and helped me get my life back. Now at 12 weeks postop I am released to be normal again. I couldn't have done it with out Dr Stewart's vast knowledge of the ankle!
Awesome experience very glad I did It
Very patient and explained the options thoroughly

The total experience with Dr Stewart and his staff has been excellent. I have never experienced any surgery though my 67 years and for having a major foot Surgery, I couldn't have expected such a perfect outcome. Thank you Dr Stewart!!
Very confident with Stewart and staff
Great doctor!!! Great staff !!
Today was my first visit with Dr Stewart. He was very helpful, patient, caring and totally explained the problem I was having with my foot and what to do. He was not rushed and answered all my questions. When I left the office, finally, I was at ease and felt completely comfortable with this experience. I will recommend Dr Stewart to others.
I'm happy I was referred to Dr.Stewart. It had been over 4 years since I was last able to run, and even then it was restricted to short distance jogging due to loss of motion in my legs. I was to the point of losing motion after short walks, now my wife has me up and down the stores with her...which might be good or bad depending on how you see it. All jokes aside, my experience was nothing short of great.
