Dierick R Sparks

Dr. Sparks is and excellent surgeon and the most compassionate orthopedist I have ever know. He did both of my rotator cuff surgeries (left, 2017 & right, 2021). He did my husband's below knee leg amputations (2016 & 2019) and reverse shoulder replacement (2017), and a few revisions. We are from the Calhoun county area but wouldn't consider going anywhere but Sparks Orthopedic.

Dierick Sparks may have SOME orthopedic skills, but go to Bham for hand and wrist issues. Had a wrist break, he put it in place with a plate. After many trips back and to therapy, hand did not work properly. BAD pain was a constant issue. Begged him to look further into the issue, he come off like we were stupid. Just prescribed pain pills. Really? After a few more visits he said it MAY be nerve damage that will heal itself, then released me. After months of extreme pain and some loss of hand function, went to a highly rated Dr. in Bham. There was other damage that he did not correct or did he cause it?!? The fix... a second surgery to remove the plate and fix a cut/torn ligament! Dierick healed the bone only and should have known his limits! He did not get it right and made it out to be me, w/ no alternative. Should have went to Bham first. Now, have heard the same type story about him more than once. Where were these people a few months ago? Now, I'm am writing this for u! Good Luck!

Dr. Sparks has done multiple surgeries on me, everything from ankle to both shoulders, in my opinion he is the greatest orthopedic surgeon around here, he not only has corrected my problems but he has a fantastic bedside manner, I recommend him to everyone I know. Thanks for everything !

He is very caring and will spend as much time as needed to address your concerns. Wonderful surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone in my family. He has helped me tremendously
