Dr. Demetrius F Loukas JR.

I’ve known him as a Dr. of Oncology since 1982 when he was on my late husband’s cancer team. He is informative, caring, knows his stuff! I’m glad he’s my oncologist. I chose him and I feel secure knowing he’s my doctor. He’s a straight shooter, understandable and good at what he does.

Dr. Loukas is very approachable and patient with any questions one may have. He is kind.

Dr. Loukas has been my doctor for years. I have confidence that I have had the best of care.

Very good dialog, explains lab results, answers questions/concerns, and gives recommendations with appropriate encouragement.

Dr. Loukas has been my oncologist for over 25 years, and I consider him instrumental in saving my life. I recently had a new, tough cancer diagnosis. In discussing my options with my husband and me, he was thorough, honest, and compassionate--all of which we appreciated. I give thanks every day that he's my doctor.

Dr Loukas has always made me feel comfortable with my cancer and I have felt comforted the way he has taken the time to answer my questions. I have never felt as if he were rushing to get on to the next patient. I thank God every night that my surgeon placed me with him.

Dr. Loukas has been my oncologist for almost 20 years. Obviously, I think very much of him, professionally and personily.

I transferred my care to Dr. Loukas and have been so very grateful. Here's why. I have a very treatable condition that prevents my body from regulating its iron levels. I needed a hematologist (blood doctor), but there aren't a lot of doctors who specialize in hematology. It turns out that lots of oncologists (cancer doctors) are "also" hematologists. Beware. This is where I initially went astray. I was referred to an oncologist, who I'm sure is outstanding treating cancer patients, but like a hammer that sees every problem as a nail, he seemed entirely preoccupied with looking for cancer rather than treating the condition we knew I had. Argh. Frustrating and time wasting. When I transferred to Dr. Loukas, he was immediately able to better explain my condition, his plan to treat it, and to accurately predict what to expect. Within just a few treatments he has brought my iron levels down to normal. What a difference! I can't say enough good things. Great staff too!

Dr. Loukas is a great doctor with so much experience. He is dedicated to his profession and always answers my questions. After going to see him now for 18 years, he always remains the perfect gentleman.

Dr Loukas always listens to me and if I have concerns, he answers them in ways easily understood. His calming manner is just what I need.

He has been my doctor for 27 years. I am afraid he will retire on me.

Texas Oncology and Dr. Loukas's staff were amazing with my brother's treatment. They never acted like they were too busy to answer your questions or be available to the patient like some Drs do at times. The entire staff was always caring, kind, informative and positive.

Dr. Loukas is unfailingly kind and attentive. He has made me feel better about my health and life, especially all during my chemo and surgeries last year. He made a scary situation a great deal easier, and I will be forever grateful to him.

I have seen Dr. Loukas for 11 years. He has always been extremely competent and professional. I respect his opinions and the knowledge he brings while overseeing my health this past decade.

I'm convinced I wouldn't be here today without him.

Dr. Loukas has been my oncologist for almost 10 years. I have complete trust in him.

Labs are done first and the people there are incredible. They are very friendly and professional and have never hurt me. Then I see Dr. Loukas. He is always warm and friendly and explains the lab results in a manner that I can understand. I am very fortunate to have him as my doctor. I trust him completely.

Dr. Loukas is always very through and attentive to details. In recent visits he has twice recommended phlebotomies which were needed.

Excellent Health Care during my visits with Dr. Loukas. I find him highly knowledgeable about my condition and he communicates very well with me. The visit never feels rushed. He takes time to make sure I understand what is going on with my lab results. Personable and caring. His immediate staff reflects the same philosophy of being patient centered and treating patients like adults.

I have been seeing Dr Loukas since 1997 when I had my second occurance of breast cancer. He has always been kind, caring and I consider him a friend. I have recommended him to many of my relatives and friends.

Love this Doctor. He is patient and listens to everything you have to say and to questions you want answered. The staff is also caring and the visits never take long.

My first appt. with Dr. Loukas was when he filled in for Dr. Fain who was out on sick leave. I liked Dr. Loukas because he made me feel comfortable and it was a very good office visit. When Dr. Fain left, I chose Dr. Loukas to be my doctor. Recently had another very nice office visit. He discussed my health history, current medications, and did not rush me thru the visit. I like him and his bedside manner. He made me feel very comfortable , and I would highly recommend him to other patients. I gave him 5 stars above !!

I have the greatest respect for Dr. Lukas as a doctor and as a man. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Dr. Loukas as my doctor by my side as I went through my treatment. As a Stage 4 Breast Cancer Survivor, I attribute my 22 years survival to Dr Loukas (and God!) Dr. Loukas provided the compassion and care to lead me through the path that no one wants to travel - cancer treatment. Prior to treatment, I sought a 2nd opinion from MDA. Their plan was the same that was presented by Dr Loukas. I trusted him then and I trust him now. He is extremely knowledgable regarding cancer treatment and advancements. Each appointment is like a visit with a dear friend. I highly recommend him for anyone seeking an oncologist! The staff at Texas Oncology midtown are proficient and friendly. The lab personnel are some of the best that I've experienced. You can't go wrong with this team!

Twenty years ago Dr. Loukas steered me through breast cancer and treatment that helped insure that it would not return. I have enjoyed my annual visits with Dr. Loukas who is always, in spite of what must, at times, be a very stressful job, warm, friendly, caring and supportive of my overall health. Kudos to you, Dr. Loukas. You are the BEST !!

I see Dr Loukas every 6 six months for breast cancer well checks and blood draws. He always takes the time to ask if I have any questions or concerns about health. I am blessed to be a 7-1/2 yr breast cancer survivor because of the plan of care Dr Loukas has provided.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Loukas. He is compassionate and empathetic, and makes me feel that he has time for me. He offers encouragement as well as medical expertise, and inspires my confidence.

Except for an unavoidable computer glitch which failed to schedule my lab prior to visit everything went very smoothly. I have no complaints about the care or office protocols...very smooth. My only complaint is the parking. It is very hard to get in and out of the parking spaces...maybe if they were slanted rather than straight on the flow of traffic would be easier. I don't mind paying, I just would like the parking spaces to be easier to get in and out of so traffic isn't blocked both ways

Dr. Loukas has been my oncologist since I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1995, when I was 44 years old. Today I am 70, and I know that without his expert care all these years, I would not be alive today. In my opinion, there is no doctor who has more expertise or who is a better human being--a rare combination, and one that I continue to be grateful for.

Attentive, respectful, compassionate, genuine, informative.

Dr. Loukas didn't make us feel rushed - he took the time to explain the procedure and answered all of our questions. My family took part in the visit and he was patient and answered all of their concerns - even by a phone call with my daughter in Portland, Oregon. Very considerate. Has remained so through my treatment. I would recommend him to a woman needed care.

Dr. Loukas has been my oncologist for 19 years. I think he is fabulous. He listens and cares.

Itwasn't just one visit: It was a whole course of treatment that has lasted over the yers. He has been a long-time friend as well as medical advisor. When I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma he was the logical choice. His advice through the whole process of receiving the immunotherapy and radiation treatments was comforting and of the highest quality. I would recommend him to anyone seeking care from a highly qualified and experienced doctor. You don't need to go to Houston for the highest quality care and I am living proof of that.

Dr Loukas has kept me well informed through this entire process. He has a great, gentle “bedside manner”. Great listener with clear responses to all my question.

Dr Loukas is wonderful and caring ! I have been seeing Dr Loukas since 1993 and he is always friendly, caring and compassionate Dr, He has. been there with me through some rough times! I have told many people about him and will continue to.

It has been my luck to have Dr, Loukas as my physician over these last 6 plus years. One of the several things with him I love is that he listens to you about what’s going on and responds directly about it with compassion and response of what to do including changing your meds accordingly. His concerns are authentic and honest. I along with many of his patients I’m sure would not want another physician as their Oncologist. Dr Loukas was the BEST Oncologist. He is the BEST Doctor I have ever had, and I mean any type of doctor. He is kind, gentle, and smart.
