Average doctor for back pain, at best. Can solve very specific issues with injections, but not good at solving complex problems. Would not go back and would not recommend, there are many better ones out there who can identify root cause of issue

Simply put, Dr. Walega is the best.

I was also surprised at all the negative reviews as Dr. Walega has always been kind, caring, and compassionate towards my pain. On top of trigger point injections in the low back and neck he also performs epidurals in my low back. Dr. Walega also works with my neurologist to treat small fiber neuropathy.

Dr. Walega is a caring and compassionate. He always has a plan to treat my pain and goes above and beyond in doing so. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for chronic pain relief.

I have the consistent professional medical mastery of Dr. Walega for 15-years now in 2018. I am living as healthy and comfortable a life as I possibly? can because? of Dr. Walega's conservative efforts to prevent more intrusive options to manage my chronic pain.

My experience with Dr. Walega has been excellent. He is a caring physician with excellent people skills. He trains fellows and directs them with precision when doing procedures. I'm impressed that while he has a very busy practice, he also participates in clinical studies aimed at pain reduction with new techniques and medications.

Dr. Walega is a very real, down-to-earth, kind person. As an RN with 50 yrs. experience, his authenticity and skill are greatly appreciated.

I have found Dr. Walega to be most empathetic to my pain. He is not a miracle worker. It is my responsibility to tell him exactly where my pain is at a given time. He is not a mind reader. I have seen him for approximately 3 years for spine and hip. Using the accurate pain information that I give him, we have had extremely satisfactory results with epidurals in four different locations. I think he's the greatest! I am shocked at the negative views of Dr. Walega. I had the completely opposite experience. I have seen him many times in the past 5 years, and have found him to be compassionate & extraordinarily helpful. He has spent significant time listening to me and my symptoms of back/hip pain, and found ways of alleviating that pain. When he felt he could not help more, he recommended another Dr. for the next step. He has personally called with test result, & spent more time with me than other Dr.

Dr. Walega is a great doctor. I have found him to be a good listener and empathetic. He is not a mind reader. It is extremely important to exactly convey to him the locations of your pain and be detailed about it. I am treated for two levels of spinal pain and also hip pain very successfully.

Condescending, defensive, and lazy. Hostile when you ask for more due diligence, provide constructive feedback, or show data suggesting his diagnosis is incorrect. He prescribed a drug cocktail my pharmacist refused to fill; he said I might have a seizure. Walega disagreed. No seizure, but intense illness ensued. Skip him; you deserve a caring, hard working Doctor that tries to confirm diagnoses . I went to the Mayo clinic; they laughed at his idiocy when I summarized it.

Similar to what another patient on the side said… My worst experience with a medical doctor was with Dr. Walega. He is arrogant, lacks empathy, and has a horrible bedside manner. It is extremely surprising that someone with his attitude would spend his days working with patients who live in chronic pain. Apart from his bedside manner, he was not successful in actively helping me manage my pain. The medical students in the NW pain program, on the other hand, were excellent.

Dr. Walega is responsible for one of the worst experiences I ever had in the medical field. He turned out to be one of the most arrogant, self centered primadonna with a horrible mercurial attitude. He is not able to diagnose complex pain issues and should not be allowed to treat patients outside an OR as his social skills and bedside manners are counterproductive to a patients health.
