Dr. Tunkel is the best ENT doc. He treated all my 3 kids when they were toddlers. When my son turned 11, he had complicated sinusitis. Local ENT specialist told us it was too complicated to treat. I happened to have Dr. Tunkel’s email from 3 years ago. I sent an email from local ER to Dr. Tunkel at 5pm, not knowing if he will remember me or my son. Dr. Tunkel called me back in 30 seconds and asked me to bring my son to Johns Hopkins. From there on out, my son was treated with utmost care. I am forever grateful to Dr. Tunkel and his team. His team follows his footsteps as well. A week after discharge, my son bleed profusely, ENT on call called me immediately saving me a trip to local ER again. Dr. Jenkins operated on my son with great care. I highly recommend Dr. Tunkel and Dr. Jenkins. God bless them.

Dr. Tunkel took out my tonsils and adenoids 30 years ago. Today he took out my 2 year olds tonsils and adenoids. That is how long he’s been doing this. Thank you Dr. Kunkel for your incredible bedside manner and amazing surgical skills. Having my 2 year old “go under” was incredibly scary for me. But, the moment I met with Dr. Tunkel and his team, I was immediately put at ease. You will not regret seeing Dr. Tunkel and you will walk away feeling like “that was a breeze!” If I could give more them 5 stars, I would! Dr. Tunkel took out my tonsils and adenoids 30 years ago. I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Tunkel! He truly is one of the best physicians we’ve been treated by. He’s professional, but so caring. You can tell by his bedside manner that he cares about his patients & their needs. Dr. Tunkel has treated my son for over a year & a half now (surgery & follow ups) and every encounter we’ve had has been great. I highly recommend him. Surgery did not succeed!

I couldn’t be more impressed with this physician. On our very initial visit I immediately knew he was fully invested in our son. He had confidence, expertise, and a genuine demeanor that got us to a decannulation we didn’t foresee for many more months. He was a second opinion and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Dr Tunkel was the textbook definition of a perfect Dr. We sought him out as a second opinion on a very scary diagnosis. Not only did he disable the prior diagnosis, he expedited the process of removing the trach from our son. From minute one I felt he was fully invested in the best interest of our child and had the immeasurable experience to carry out an awesome plan of care. Bedside demeanor was impressive. Confident, prompt, and never sugar coating.

Dr. Tunkle has always been cordial and thorough when examining my 5 year old son. He even performed a surgical procedure 3 years ago by removing his adenoids. I would highly recommend him.
