Dr. Smith is a very knowledgeable pediatric surgeon who makes his patients feel valued and at ease. His bedside manner resonates well with children.

Dr Smith saved my granddaughters life 10 years ago when she was 4 months old. She is now 10 and he just removed her gall bladder. This is nevaehs 4th surgery with Dr Smith and I am so thankful to have come across him. I believe had we not had him as her surgeon we would have had negative outcomes..Best pediatric surgeon in fort wayne.

DR SMITH AND HIS STAFF ESPECIALLY JOSIAH AND TRACY ARE AMAZING!! MY SON HAS A VERY RARE CONDITION AND DR. SMITH AND HIS STAFF GOES OVER AND BEYOND TO KEEP HIM TAKIN CARE.OF HE HAS DONE MULTIPLE.SURGERIES ON MY SON AND IF IT WASNT FOR HIM AND DR TURRENTINE FROM RILEY HOSPITAL MY SON WOULDNT BE ALIVE TODAY!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!! MY FAMILY AND I.LOVE HIM. HE IS VERY DOWN TO EARTH AND GETS STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. THANK YOU DR. Such a great surgeon and person in general?? we love love love him. He always puts a smile on the kids and parents face and does his job well and is straight forward. Will most definetly recommend to any and everyone that needs him. His nurses are great as well and love them as well. Thank you to dr Smith, josia, and Tracy and the rest of the staff for everything they have done to make our daughter all better??????

He was overwhelmed and strung too thin when caring for our daughter. Unfortunately his careles mistake almost cost our daughters life. However, he was very friendly. I would rate his attitude a 10. I'm glad they now have more surgeons in the area.

Here we have an "Office Manager" who can't return phone calls, forgets who she is talking to, and leaves early too often when you are still waiting to hear back from her. Dr. David Smith talks to children in an inappropriate manner, misses a scheduled appointment, then hides when you want to talk to him. Dr. David Smith has a few nurses who also follow along with his use of inappropriate language. I won't let them near my son. No way would I EVER recommend this person. Not only did he and his staff dismiss and belittle our concerns about our daughter post surgery, he left a clip on her bileduct causing her to go septic. Not the only kid he did this to either. 3 years later and she is still battling through the after effects of his carelessness. If I could rate him a 0 I would.

Dr. Smith was very relatable with his patient (our 2-6 month old daughter), with my wife and I (varying medical backgrounds), and with the hospital staff and care team for her. He is very knowledgeable and skilled, and takes time to know his patients and walk them through his procedures and methods. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone in need of a pediatric surgeon.
