David Edward Seaman

My experience visiting Dr. Seaman and his staff in Erie, PA has been incredibly pleasant. When I was originally referred to him, there was a 4 month waiting period. After being instructed to call back to check for cancellations, I was able to get in for an appointment 3 months earlier than I was initially scheduled. Dr. Seaman is very knowledgeable and thorough. He ordered more extensive testing than any other doctor I’ve ever seen. Some may find that to be a burden, however I appreciate a doctor that’s willing to explore all possible avenues to find the root cause of my symptoms. In the past two weeks, I have messaged his office twice to communicate current symptoms and their severity. On both occasions, I received a prompt response AND was asked to come in to his office for further discussion/testing/observation. This diligence is greatly appreciated, and I would absolutely refer Dr. Seaman to anyone in need of a rheumatologist.

Dr. Seaman is actually available to be seen through UPMC EPN Rheumatology in Erie, PA. I had my first appointment with him today. He was very thorough, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. He listens and helped me to understand why he disagreed with my original diagnosis of séronégative rheumatoid arthritis. The office staff was very efficient and friendly as well. I’m glad we finally have an excellent, competent rheumatologist here in Erie.

Do not go to this doctor!! He prescribed me dapsone which sent my spo2 levels down to 80 which hospitalized me. Instead of coming to see me in the hospital he kept uping the dose. I had to go to cleveland clinic to find out what was going on and found out then it was the dapsone which they immediately had me quit taking. Please stear clear of this wreck less doctor!! Excellent doctor. Never had any problems with getting appointments or meds. Hate to see him leve Mon General.

The office staff are rude. I was told my labs were normal, but in fact they were abnormal. They were supposed to refer me to a nephrologist due to abnormal urine test results and the fax didn’t go through. They did not bother to follow up or contact me. Very incompetent. I am a medical assistant and worked in medical offices for years and this is unacceptable office behavior. I don’t have any answers and have to start the process all over again. Getting into see the dr was quite easy.....but....after that.... nothing good to talk about. The office staff ....going on three weeks so far.... will not return a phone call which is necessary for continuation of care....so i try calling them daily and leaving many unanswered messages in the hopes they return my call so i can receive appropriate medical care. Very unprofessional services from this office.

Dr.Seaman is very nice and answer your question and polite i have recommended him to several people he listens to you and his staff is always very kind it is an outstanding atmosphere

Dr. Seaman is extremely thorough and smart. He took a long time to get an appointment with— but he was worth the wait. I have been very pleased with his care and work up. I’m very glad to have a specialist who sees me as a whole person and not just that subset of specialty.

I started seeing Dr David Seaman 20 plus yrs ago. Was diagnosed by him as having fibromyalgia. While in Washington PA, his staff was very pleasant and caring. Since the move to Morgantown, not so much. Staff there are pleasant enough but their jobs do not seem to always get done and they tend to pass the buck. There are a couple of staff who have gone above and beyond for me. For some reason this office has had trouble getting and or keeping good help. As for Dr Seaman...I have sat in his office crying or cussing or just plain telling him some horrible ways that i feel. He has always listened and gave advise. I feel so blessed to have Dr. Seaman as my doctor... I have a rare medically diagnosed disease called Giant Cell Arteritis...And lucky for me Dr. Seaman is very knowledgeable about the condition and treatment. Once I was referred to him he immediately scheduled me within 2 days. I was explained in layman terms by him what I had and what the treatment was going to be. I feel so confident we are going to treat this condition and I am going to be successful in getting well. He's a good and caring man.

Very knowledgeable and very caring physician. People do not understand the benefit of having a rheumatologist in the area and having the access. People take his specialty for granted by missing appointments. He is an awesome physician with a true gift and his staff is phenomenal. We are very grateful to be under his care. We recommend Dr. Seaman to anyone who their Primary Care is going to send them to a rheumatologist, this is the physician they want to see. I am very thankful to him and his staff for the work they are doing for my family. By the way, this doctor is very diligent and very aggressive (in a good way) with finding out what is going on with the patients under his care. You want this guy to be your rheumatologist.

If I had to give a rating it would be in the negatives. I had an appointment in Aug. 2019. This person is the most self-centered and arrogant man I have met in the doctoring profession. He did not answer questions, all he harped on me was about my weight, I am a little overweight but by no means am I obese. He continued to push for me to take a depression med. because the side effect is losing weight. I did not receive a discharge paper, when I requested one, I was told they do not give them out. He stated that he would prescribe a pain med. he never did. I had to call the office two wks. Leaving messages before someone called back. Finally a script was called to my pharmacy for only sixty days with no refills. After the sixty days my pharmacy faxed his office for two wks. requesting a refill, I continued to call during those wks. to no avail to both of us. Finally the office called and said ”that the dr. was dismissing me as his patient! I guess he has forgotten his Hippocratic Oath!

He is terrible and the staff is worse. They don’t even answer the phone and they don’t return phone calls. It took over a month to fill my prescription after I had my office visit. I would recommend going to anyone else.

I have been a patient of Dr. Seaman's for the last several years. I couldn't find another Rheumatologist who would accept UPMC for Life Insurance after he left Washington so I followed him to Morgantown, and am glad I did. He knows me better than I know myself. He also knows if I tell him I ache that I'm not kidding, and will help me. I totally appreciate him and all he has done for me!!! He rates 10 stars in my book!!!

Dr Seaman is professional yet friendly. I feel confident in his care and would recommend him to others.

I wish I could post a lower rating. You will be able to tell immediately that he has zero emotional involvement or passion for his profession, and his staff is incredibly rude, inefficient, and annoyed by their job. Wendy, the nurse, is completely worthless and tries to pass the buck to get you off the phone without resolving any issues you may have. The rest of the staff is no better. I'm a healthcare provider myself, and I'm urging you to look elsewhere to be fair to yourself. Problems will arise such as prior authorizations, refill authorizations, and associated complications with whatever disease state you are suffering from. This is not the staff or provider you want in your corner to help you. I wish I could post a lower rating. I have to say, Dr. Seaman is a bit reserved and I am quite an extrovert so I wasn't sure how well we would mesh, but I couldn't be happier. My PCP has issues where he is literally out of the office for weeks at a time and had cancelled my last 3 appoinments. It was Dr. Seaman that listened to my other health concerns that were unrelated to Rheumatology and provided me with referrals. His office staff has always been pleasant and helpful. Terrible staff never returns calls very unprofessional will Not be going back a tip for Dr seamen Get a new staff

Dr. Seman is my saving grace. I had gone to other doctors, but he is theONLY one who has helped me. My husband goes to him also, and he helped him more than any doctor in Uniontown did. We will definitely reccommend him to everyone that needs a great rheumatologist.

I cannot imagine where I'd be without Dr. Seaman. I seen so many doctors who did absolutely nothing for me, I was in constant pain and some strange things going on, I was ready to give up when I was sent to Dr. Seaman and trust me when I say I thank God for putting him in my life. Have and will continue to recommend him.

If I could rate less than one star I would! I came here telling the Dr. that I was told I have Raynauds by several Dr.s his response, "I'm not convinced you have raynauds" Ended up that not only do I have Raynauds but I have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and also Sjogrens. Both of which were not diagnosed by this Dr. after seeing him for at least 2 years with no results and actual worsening of my condition, I decided to do research and find a top rheumatologist to get the proper diagnosis. I would not recommend this Dr. If I could rate less than one star I would! I love this place. Always patient and courteous. Dr. Seaman always tries to give the medication with least side effects. When I was severely anemic, it Dr. Seaman who sent me to a hematologist, not my PCP! I feel like they actually care about your well being.

He was so nice spent a lot of time explaining and answering questions

Waited several months for an appointment and very dissatisfied. Will not be going back

Can never get a return phone call when I have questions and it took over eight weeks to get my bloodwork results even after calling the office several times. He just recently closed his waynesburg office and did not even inform his patients. Left his office and was told to call as needed for appt and 3 months afterward denied my med refill and left me without medication if it wasn’t for my pcp I would have gone without meds

Failed to dx my s.l.e. Failed to dx my sjogrens and said he wadnt convinced I had Raynauds which I've had for years and 4 other Dr agreed I had it! Seen him 3x complete waste of my time and money. Did nothing to help me or treat my pain. Would NOT recommend at all.

I certainly would!! Dr. Seman has seen me and my husband through many painful days and nights. I call , Amber and she gets right to him and he has an answer for me. I only wish he was in Uniontown. I never have a problem with appointments, waiting etc. At one time there was an undesirable nurse there, who made terrible decisions, but she is gone now. We trust him, because he has helped our pain situation for over 15 years now, and I am very glad someone told me about him.

Asked multiple questions about my symptoms and medications to which I got the answer I don't know. This doctor had no idea what was wrong with me so he ordered 2 blood tests for which it took two months and 8 phone calls to get the results. Do not go to this doctor he has no idea what he is doing and does not care about getting back to patients.

I would definitely recommend Dr Seaman. I have been his patient for 20 years and he has always been attentive to my health problems and concerns. I have never felt rushed or unable to get answers to all my questions. I have a very unusual diagnosis, which was made thanks to his diligence in research and seeking opinions from other experts in his field. He was not reluctant to send me to other physicians to confirm that I was properly diagnosed.

One of the worst experiences I have had with a physician's office. I waited over 2 months for an appointment. When I finally saw Dr. Seaman he spent very little time with me, and seemed unconcerned about my pain or symptoms because the labs came back negative. I called repeatedly asking to discuss treatment and he never called back. I finally got a call back from someone in the office saying that he said I had mild osteoarthritis with no explanation of how he came up with this diagnosis.

Had an allergic reaction to one of the medications so I called the office twice and nobody ever called me back. Aside from that he is an hour late for appointments and rushes you.
