Dr. David Howard Plotkin

Dismissive and rude. Didn’t take concerns about my husband’s health seriously. He was later diagnosed with a benign brain tumor and did not survive. Should not be allowed to practice medicine.

Dr.plotkin is the PCP of my entire family, and he was recommended by a dear friend of mine. After my first consultation, he was very knowledgeable about my problems, I like him so much that I got my husband and mom to change their PCPs to Dr.plotkin. We like quick and accurate diagnosis, I like straightforward decisions, and Dr.plotkin will tell you what you need without going around pushing you to different doctors. We all like his style and how he practice medicine! He is moving to a bigger office and doing virtual consultations until the new office is ready, and we happily prefer him in virtual than any other doctor in person! Dr David is a man you can count on in an emergency or on a day to day basis. During the 10 years he has treated me, he has helped me through several medical emergencies. I've been seeing Dr. Plotkin for over 15 years. He's fantastic, very through and personable. couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

This office is the worse Ive ever had to deal with. They like to schedule tele med calls for every 3 months even when you dont request or need them. He doesnt see anyone in person even though other doctors have been doing so for months now and they have the nerve to tell you to hold up to an hour and a half of your time to wait for him to call you. Who does that??!! Good luck trying to cancel appointments. They manage to screw that up as well!! This office is the worse Ive ever had to deal with. Dr. Plotkin is a one of a kind MD. He is blisteringly bright and amazingly well informed about all issues medical. I understand that people could find him somewhat aloof or detached but he is anything but. His focus is always what is best for his patients. On numerous occasions he has gone above and beyond what I had expected from a General Practitioner. I had retina surgery and Dr. Plotkin called me to see how I was doing and to answer any questions I had. I would recommend Dr. Plotkin to friends and family. He is a really good and caring man. I have been a patient of Dr. Plotkin for 15yrs. I have faced horrid times due to illness. Dr. Plotkin has done his best by me. Doctors these days spend most of their time in "fighting for you" with the insurance companies. Doctors also have a life of their own. They carry a baggage as heavy as yours and push it along each day just as you do. I appreciate that he has time to remember facts about me as a person, not as a patient. That is meaningful to me. In every single time of crisis I felt his empathy and felt that he did not leave me alone. That is meaningful to me. We are all doing the best we can with what we have, and Dr. Plotkin has done his best so I could help myself.

Since the virus hit do United States Dr. Plotkin‘s has been a godsend to me because he Constantly keep in touch with me due to the fact I have a lot of medical issues I would recommend him to anyone he has been a great doctor for me

Rude doctor with unfriendly and uncaring staff. Minor infection turned Septic while waiting more than a week for the doctor to get around to seeing a relative. Ended up in the hospital for a week. Avoid this practice.

I am not completely surprised by the negative comments regarding Dr. Plotkin and/or his office staff. I mean they are sort of a one-man show, so some of the comments regarding wait times make sense. Here is the thing; Dr. Plotkin is a fairly young yet VERY knowledgeable physician. He has many years of clinical experience and even a specialty in sports medicine. He takes his time with each patient and shares information that is often outside the scope of time that is allotted for each patient’s visit. Is it accurate that you might wait awhile? Yes. Is it also true that when he comes in to see you, your appointment may run over for the next patient, YES! You cannot fault this man for having bedside mannerisms that have escaped the medical profession as more practices have multiple providers and/or make money based on how many patients they see per day. Dr. Plotkin’s office does not operate that way. His office has minimal staff with one physician, one nurse, one office specialist/manager, and one administrative assistant. He does not have other providers to cover his patients and he believes in providing comprehensive examinations. The office staff has changed a lot over the years with only the specialist/manager being consistent. She has learned to adapt to Dr. Plotkin’s leadership style where others have for whatever reason stumbled. She has a great memory and will call you by first name when she recognizes you. Although she does not always have the most welcoming tone when you first walk in, she is definitely a gem and knows how to keep the operation together. I would undoubtedly recommend Dr. Plotkin as a physician. He has been my Primary Care Physician (PCP) for well over ten years and I look forward to the next 100! Great family doctor. Very knowledgeable. Easy to talk to and discuss issues with. Listens to patients.

Dr. Plotkin is very thorough and doesn't hesitate to refer me out for any tests. He is very knowledgable about current treatments/research. He is particularly skilled when it comes to sports functioning/injuries/illnesses. He has stayed late (I got a 5:45 appointment) when I had an urgent need to be seen (not his standard practice, but I really appreciated that!). He spent 60 minutes with me in my last physical. What other doctor does that?! Not a perfect office, but I get great care.

I thought it was time that I wrote this review after years of telling people my experience with Dr. Plotkin. I hope that Dr. Plotkin has matured since around 2000 when I was seeing him. I came to him with some pretty unusual problems: trouble breathing, darkening vision, extreme fatigue, nausea that went on for months. I saw him many times, trying to find an answer. He did the usual tests, but never a brain and spinal MRI. After exhausting his knowledge, he sent me to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist saw me and said, "My conclusion is that your doctor is an A$#hole! I don't know what is wrong with you but you need a new doctor". I eventually ended up at Hopkins where I was diagnosed with a rare disease called NMO and later reclassified as a MOG patient (this is very googlable). A brain and full spinal MRI would have shown this. Sometimes the doctor makes the difference... Was very sick following botched dental surgery. Dr Plotkin probably saved my life. He made time for me when I needed him.

I love Dr. PLOTKIN! He is an excellent doctor. He is very kind, polite, and he addresses all of my concerns. I will continue to see him and I highly recommend him!

Great Doctor. I've been going to Dr Plotkin for over 10 years, and feel he is very knowledgeable and diligent. Not sure why one of the reviews says he's not friendly, because he's always been nice and pleasant to me.

Doctor Plotkin is someone who cares about his patients. He takes his time to ascertain the patients history. And he also listens to what you have to say. One speciality is for him to monitor your medicines as he did mine. He is almost like a Chemist. He makes sure that all medicines prescribed by him and my other doctors are well compatible. Worest doctor, not friendly and give time for his patient to listen. I felt so bad how he treat his patients. Don't recommend Dr. Plotkin for any one.

I have been a patient of his for many years and he has helped my go through some bad times over the last couple of years. He literally saved from some dangerous infections . He always has time for me and I never fell I am a bother. I would recommend him as he is very knowledgeable and proactive when it comes to injuries and sickness.

This is by far the most unacceptable of a doctor. He is very insensitive and never listens, prescribes wrong medicine. Do not trust him. I repeat, DO NOT TRUST HIM. He shouldn't be allowed to practice.
