I was so nervous because of the terrible things I'd heard about Corpus Christi's healthcare system, and when I found out my insurance covered only ONE surgeon ANYWHERE near me (the other options were over hour drives) I panicked. Then I met him. I saw some reviews saying he came in and said surgery and left too quickly, but HELLO he's been practicing for quite sometime. I must say, I was SO grateful, that a five minute "you need surgery" appointment FINALLY got me the help I'd been looking for for over a year. His bed side manner is so relaxing, kind, genuine, and yet direct to the point. Despite what some may think, my five minute appointment with him finally got me on track to being healthy again after battling severe pain AND the pictures of my poor gall bladder along with stones I was shown in my post op proved he knew exactly what he was doing and exactly what I needed. I called a few days after about a simple question after leaving the hospital and he actually came to the phone himself. I was blown away. The women that work in his office are so so so sweet and caring as well. The times I've been there I was a tad scared because his office was FULL each time, but those ladies, plus an amazing doctor, make sure things run smoothly and as quick as possible. I can't believe I stumbled onto one of the best surgeons ever on my first go around. I wish I could give him AND his staff a big 10 stars. Staff is so important when it comes to doctors. I've actually had to leave doctors because of their staffs in the past, but Dr P and his staff are top notch. The ONLY thing I have negative to say is, he mentioned how long he's been doing this, and I worry he will retire lol. Dr. David E. Pearce is an EXCELLENT general surgeon. I am a 74-year-old female who has had my fair share of procedures and surgeries. My most recent was February 5, 2022, when I was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. Dr. Pearce was my surgeon. He was friendly, kind, very attentive, and knowledgeable. He showed great concern for my comfort, explained his role regarding my surgery, and answered all of my questions. The surgery was a success without any complications. From our first meeting through my follow-up office visit, my husband and I were kept well informed, treated with dignity and respect, and knew we had been in gifted hands. Dr. Pearce has over 40 years of experience in the medical field. That alone is worthy of 10 stars. I highly recommend Dr. Pearce.

Dr. Pierce, performed a colonoscopy on me on 11-17-20 he did a wonderful job. He is very gentle and made sure that I never had any kind of pain. His staff was very nice and helpful at all times at the hospital. Thank you to everyone involved with my procedure, for treating me like a queen. I walked in the office on the defense due to reading the negative comments on here. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was not anything close to what I read. The two ladies behind the desk were very friendly and sweet. Dr. Pearce, while he did not spend much time with me for the consult, was still pleasant enough and very efficient. Minimal small talk but that is fine with me. A very good experience overall.

This guy has the worst manners of any doctor I've ever seen. Spent 30 seconds for a post-op consult, wouldn't answer questions, wouldn't look at surgery incisions, dismissive of concerns. Avoid this man at all costs.

I had Laparoscopic Bilateral Inguinal Hernia surgery(on both sides of my groin) 6 weeks ago. Surgery was a complete success and I fully recovered with no problems. Dr. Pearce called me at home the day after surgery to check on me. Dr. Pearce is a knowledgeable, competent, experienced professional doctor. I was also very pleased with Spohn Hospital South (Saratoga) facilities. I would highly recommend Dr. Pearce for this kind of surgery.

The staff was very friendly and kept me in the know, even though my wait was not long at all,Friday the 15th I had my surgery with Dr Pearce he himself called me to check up on me the very next day he did a wonderful job and was there to answer any and all my questions...my over all experience was great

Dr. Pearce removed my gallbladder & personally called me himself the next day to see how I was doing. My experience with him was wonderful, he make sure you feel comfortable, he is calm so his calmness rubs off on you, especially since surgery can be a little nerve wrecking. Zero stars not available. Go to a different doctor. I had to make two trips for appointment to get blood work done prior to surgery since his office didn't send over report to hospital. Then my surgery paperwork says 9:45 a.m. surgery, but when checking in am Told 1:40 pm. But at 11:00 a.m. I am Told insurance hasn't approved surgery. Came to hospital septic & disoriented. I needed energency surgery for an unusual situation. Dr Pearce did a wonderful job. His patience with my 1/2 brain or less was appreciated. Also I dont have staples from breast bone to umbilicas. I very much appreciate the sutures.

i wish I could give negative stars. His staff is rude and condescending. Their behavior mirrors his. He has absolutely no compassion or decency and brags about how mean he is. He told us he did not care about patients. I asked why he was so mean & he laughed and said his grandchildren think he is mean too. When I had questions about my care he told me he did not care and that he was there just to look at the wounds. He let me know his patients only get 5 minutes. His office is dirty to

I went for a cysts took my 60$ and said they don't cover it they knew what I was going for before the visit the staff was rude he saw me 2 minutes

Rude and unprofessional office staff. Signed in on time for my appointment, After an hour, the staff ignored and never acknowledged my presence, never gave me new patient forms to fill out or took my insurance information/cards. When I informed them (front desk) that I had been there over an hour and I was cancelling my appointment, their attitude was one of indifference. This was my first and last visit to this office.
