Dr. David Martincheck

After having 5 surgeries, the latest being a reconstruction surgery for an ongoing problem I have been coming to Dr. Martinchecks office for pain management. My first visit was with him and I’ve seen the NP since. After my last surgery in January 2023 I did see him. Everyone in this office is phenomenal. Anetta at the front desk is always warm and welcoming, she always remembers my name and makes conversation. Tamra is also very sweet. I’ve never been made to feel bad for taking/needing pain management. Correct use doesn’t equal abuse in my opinion. They do have you come in every month, I feel like they genuinely care how my pain is and if the medication is working. I appreciate everyone in this office and the respect they show. I understand pain management can be scary or embarrassing but I don’t feel that way at all when I come to see Dr. Martincheck or Spencer the NP.

This was my experience with Dr. Martincheck. Dr. Martincheck performed a spinal cord stimulator trial on me probably around 2018. The trial was performed in the back of his office and there was no equipment to guarantee proper placement of the leads. I was not sedated at all. Dr. Martincheck did give me two pills to take prior to this “procedure”, unfortunately the pills did nothing for me as well as the shots in my back that he administered. The lead was inserted in my back and then pushed up my spine to a spot somewhere in my back. The only problem is I felt the lead hitting every nerve on my spine. I thought I had already experienced the worst pain in my life, this “procedure” proved me wrong. The only person to ask me if I’m okay was the nurse. After the trial was over, Dr. Martincheck removed the lead and I was out of there. I did use his office once so a representative from Boston Scientific could adjust my implanted spinal cord stimulator. Dr. Martincheck made it a point to interrupt this appointment and stick his nose in. Dr. Martincheck had no business with the appointment, his work was done long ago. Dr. Martincheck looked at me and actually said “so you planning on getting off pain pills now”. I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in my right lower extremity. For a medical professional to say that to a patient is extremely damaging to a patient’s mental state especially when the patient’s history is not even known. Dr. Martincheck is just one more doctor who failed me, and even worse Dr. Martincheck didn’t believe me and in the end just looked at me as a drug seeker.

I have been going to Dr. Martincheck for many many years. I travel almost 4 hours round trip to go to him every month because he listens to me, treats me with compassion and has helped me more than any other Dr. I have been to for my back and neck pain. Every time I see him he shakes my hand, sits down, leans in and gives me his full attention as we discuss my pain levels and any options for minimizing my discomfort. I feel like he is fully present and that counts for a lot when dealing with such a difficult situation. His staff have always been wonderfully kind, caring, efficient and sympathetic as well.

I would never recommend Dr. Martincheck to anyone! Friendly at first but after eight painful spinal injections he walks away without saying a word! My words are never again. The injections did nothing for my pain!

The best pain doctor I’ve been to. He actually listens without judging you.

Please get another front desk person.. Everytime I bring my mom she is so rude .I hate that my mom has chosen this place for her pain problems..

Dr. Martin check is amazing, the staff except the office manager and Tamara could be more friendly. Now the new NP...well no comment . I miss seeing my Dr. I wish I didn't have to see the NP all the time. Overall great pain management clinic!

I went to Dr Martincheck he is one of the very best pain management Dr . He is a kind , will listen to you and advise you on the best treatment to help relieve your pain. His staff is wonderful too!

I met with Dr. Martincheck on one occasion. I had severe pain from sciatic nerve damage. I waited a week for the appointment suffering pain throughout the week. Dr. Martincheck seemed quite nice. He referred me to get an MRI. He asked me to call the day after the MRI so that we could develop a treatment strategy. I called daily for four days and he did not return my call. The nurse told me that he had received the MRI report. I eventually picked up my MRI and took the report to another doctor. Dr. Martincheck, YOURE FIRED!!!

This doctor cares about your pain and genuinely talks about how much you can do to help yourself. I appreciate his honesty with me. And he tells me or discusses with me the pros and cons of adjusting my medicine. I appreciate that because you get to a certain age and give up and just take drugs. That’s not me and dr Martincheck helps me to avoid taking the step for more drugs. He works with me to find different solutions besides upping a strength of a pill. I appreciate him taking the time to actually give me options—-good and bad the best thing he has taught me is that I have options. I do not have to be tied to pills just to cope with pain.

Dr martincheck is a great pain management dr. He actually listens to where the pain is and tries different treatments. He is very explanatory . He is always friendly and respectful. The staff is awesome as well

I've been seeing Dr. MARTINCHECK for almost a year now. He & his staff are very friendly and he listens to my concerns and tries everything possible to help with my pain. He is very professional and personable. I will continue to trust him as long as he is here. Would recommend him to anyone needing a compassionate professional pain management doctor!

Im new to Waco and found a myself a much needed primary doctor, who referred me to a pain specialist, due to a fall and other history. The referral was sent out on the 2nd of JUNE, 2017..Dr. David Martincheck's office called WEEKS! later to schedule appointment for the 17th of JULY..about a month and a halfs time. Their questionnaire! A bit much, but I complied. After taken to exam room..intern took all pertinent information..Its important that I let any new physician know about a condition I was born with, Called (Dexto Cardia and situs in versus) meaning my heart is on my RIGHT! And all major organs on opposite side..(normal in all other aspects) After intern left room, I heard him softly trying to inform Dr. Martincheck of my condition. Through close door and down the hall, I heard him laughing and joking about it loud enough for me to hear clearly! And I quote! " WHAT ABOUT HER FEET!?" REALLY! Im in excruciating pain! And hes joking about his patient he hasn't even met!...He's got a new office and practice, from what I've learned..and this is the professionalism I'm to expect? Or lack of!!! I was then told by said doctor, that they would have to request MRI, LUMBAR MRI, ETC. And! Would see me no later then NEXT Wednesday for some cortisone shots. Being that I'm was referred AND a new patient! You'd think! They would have wanted any information on my chart as to why I was sent there in the first place. Nope! They never called me back with any other information. A week later a left a message with their answering service! Never called me back. left a message on OFFICE VOICEMAIL!! Last week! IT'S JULY 31ST! And DR. DAVID MARTINCHECK'S OFFICE HAS YET TO CALL ME.. Would I recommend this office??? What do you think? FYI, Dr...You might want to listen in on whoever is making referral appointments..she did everything possible to discourage me from making it.. UPDATE! Social Media does work! Dr. Martincheck's office called regarding my voice mail left at their office. They female went on to say that my imaging had not yet been received. I reminded her that I had offered to pick them up! To expedite my next visit. I was told it wasn't necessary, since it only took a few days. I called every location I have had imaging done! And requested a copy, which will be available for me tomorrow. I also inquired about any doctor requesting my imaging within the last month! And all places replied with a no ma'am. I was the nurse and had my back broken when a patient find it it a hospital I work at. This pain management doctor had the nerve to take a drug test and say that I put. Toilet water in my urine! He had the nerve to do this to me when all of the time I had a UTI which caused cloudy urine. Pretty stupid to me not to think about that first. I’m tired of these doctors don’t care. He had the nerve to tell me he would no longer service me but I was never never going to go back to him and he knew it for saying such a thing about me. He is awesome doc..would recommend him very much. He actually listens and helps with your pain. staff is pretty nice too. The only person I did have problems with was a Vanessa...she would not let me talk to another staff member or the Dr. Very rude lady

Dr Martincheck knows his field quite well. I trust this man to provide me with the utmost treatments available. This is not a pill mill like other places in the Waco, TX area. Dr Martincheck doesn't push injections and takes the time to actually listen to my needs. He is by far the best in my immediate area. Truly can't be happier.

Well it was a lot like a trip to the Emergency room, the only exception is that Dr. Was expecting me but as soon as he seen me he labelled me a pill seeker and proceeded to inform me the pain that shoots down both legs was arthritis . when i had asked if he had gotten my most recent of a long list of MRI reports and images he said he had gone over them and then he told me it was due to arthritis that i was experiencing this pain. Best bedside manner ever.He listened to all my concerns and came up with a plan to control my pain.His staff was excellent and very nice. I would highly recommend to anyone tired of being a number rather than a patient.Mr.martin is an excellent listener and great doctor.I travel from temple and he is certainly worth the drive

Dr Martincheck took care of me for a couple of years in Waco. He managed the medicine in my pain pump as well as my oral medicine. Her very knowledgeable,professional,but most of all personable. You know he cares about you & your well being. Since he left the clinic in Waco, I haven't been happy with his replacement. Anyone who has the opportunity to have him as their doctor is lucky!
