Amazing Dr, amazing outcome, amazing staff. I've noticed a few reviews stating that Dr Joos wasn't addressing their concerns and wasn't "making them feel comfortable" with some of his responses to their questions.. This man is very good at what he does, he doesn't sugar coat what should be done. He is blunt and to the point and he knows what he is doing. If I didn't take his, straight forward advice, I wouldn't be where I am today, with full functionality of my ankle (especially 6 months after my initial injury) I would highly recommend Dr Joos and his amazing staff, go into his office with an open mind, ask plenty of questions. but if you don't care for his answer, either reword your question or take it as advice coming from a professional. Thank you guys for your amazing work

Dr. Joos was really straight forward and all however I wish he would have looked at my records before coming in the room so I didn't have to go over the results of a pervious nerve study again.

I worked with Dr Joos and he is the first person I went to when I had my Lis Franc injury to get surgery. Surgery went amazing. He is one of the best Foot and Ankle Surgeons in the state of Utah.

David A. Joos, MD was referred to me when I had the unfortunate Achilles rupture last year. I benefited from his fairly aggressive recovery schedule. I was able to play in a disc golf tournament just under 3 months after surgery. Not only that, I was ahead of my recovery schedule at every check-up thereafter. He was very clear and honest for each step before and after surgery. If you are in need of achilles surgery, Dr. Joos is your guy.

Bar none, my experience at Utah Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is one of the best experiences I have had as a patient. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and checked in. I sat down and a minute later the attendant came to get me and take me back to the examination room. Wow, so prompt and attentive! I was told that Doctor Joos was with another patient and would be in shortly. No kidding, two minutes later Doctor Joos came in to meet with me, very impressed by how prompt and efficient the office is! Prior to my appointment, I had an MRI on my ankle taken at the hospital. Right out the gate Doctor Joos began to explain the results of my MRI, his understanding of my underlying conditions, and multiple approaches to next steps and his recommendations for physical therapy, and then explained courses of action we would take if the PT didn’t show improvements. Doctor Joos answered all of my questions, provided estimations for recovery time, anticipated my concerns, helped me see and understand the short term and long term benefits of each stage of treatment. Doctor Joos was thorough and knowledgeable about every procedure and course of action. He showed me my MRI images and thoroughly explained what my underlying and degenerative conditions were and why I was having symptoms and pain issues. Doctor Joos did not rush and explained terms in detailed language that I could understand. He answered all of my follow up questions and laid my fears to rest! I left feeling like he was going to take care of me, that I was in good hands and that we had made a comprehensive plan for treatment. I felt completely confident that my condition would improve and be resolved. I cannot praise the nurses, assistants, and staff enough, their professionalism, care and attention to detail are unparalleled. I give the highest recommendation and praise for Doctor Joos and his practice.

Very knowledgeable and a very easy guy to talk to you about what is going on, he also explained what he thinks happened and the best course of treatment.

Dr Joos was very attentive and did everything he could to help me resolve my problem. He laid out my options in a clear way and helped me form a plan for how to handle my situation. Everyone there was very kind and good and I left perfectly happy with the experience. Thanks everyone! ❤️

I was planning on bunion surgery, then fell & broke a toe on the same foot & was referred to Dr. Joos. He gave me great advice on my broken toe, so I asked his opinion on my bunion. Great doctor! He took a ton of time to sit and explain things. He made me feel like I was his only patient that day- focused, not in a rush, personable, and sincere. I don’t need to go back for this injury, but I told myself on the way out, “if I ever get hurt again I’m coming back to him for sure!” You’ll be happy you chose him!

Dr. Joos is very receptive to hearing the symptoms and then cutting to the main issues in a very pleasant and humorous manner. I feel confident that we can come to the best outcome diagnostically and operatively. I really appreciated his candor.

Standard of care was excellent, staff is great, all questions were answered and everything was handled professionally. My achilles tendon rupture couldn't have been in better hands.

Dr. Joos, was the first doctor to really listen to my problems with not only my foot, but my calf. I have been struggling pain with no answers from other physicians, he listened, was knowledgeable and was want to find answers.

Caring, supportive physician and staff. Great care, good communication, but most importantly, excellent surgical outcome.

Dr. Joos is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He is treating me for an ankle injury. He listens and spends time explaining test results, treatment options, etc. Dr. Joos is kind and caring. I leave his office knowing I have a doctor who is going to do all he can to help me feel better. Highly recommended.

Dr. Joos removed some hardware that had been in my leg for 14 years, he mentioned the risks and possible struggles that he could encounter during the surgery. Two hours later I was in recovery.

Horrible Doctor! He was rude and insensitive and I was accused of looking for an “easy fix.” He wasn’t tactful at all when talking to someone with a disability! Kept telling me, “with a significant foot birth defect (like I have) it will never look like your other one.” I wasn’t even there for him to do anything cosmetic to my foot. He’s got some work do to on his bedside manners. He does not have a likable personality. They took x-rays and he didn’t even mention them like didn’t show them to me didn’t talk about them at all. I was recommended to DR. Joos from our physical therapist for ankle reconstruction surgery...I have never experienced worse bedside manner in my entire life. He was completely insensitive to my situation, and made me feel completely dumb. The entire appointment I felt like I was being yelled At and given a lecture. He never once asked what I would like to do, what I felt comfortable with, instead I was told what to do...and non of my concerns or opinions were taken into consideration. I have never been so unimpressed with a doctor. Nor could I believe he was in the medical field and dealt with patients in very discouraging situations on a daily basis. The staff was friendly and attentive. His assistant was very helpful and respectful the whole time. But I did not have a good experience with dr. David Joos, it started fine but I was amazed at how as the visit progressed his attitude turned sarcastic and dismissive. I have been suffering from pain in my foot for several months and he treated me like I was annoying him or wasting his time. I went to another doctor 2 days later and had a wonderful experience. The 2nd doctor didn’t fix my problem but walked me through steps I could take to feel better and was empathetic to my pain. Maybe dr joos was having a bad day which he is entitled to, but I can only rate him on my experience. The staff was friendly and attentive.
