About David Alan Friscia
Reviews for David Alan Friscia
Dr Friscia has a whole team of professionals working with him. Preparing the patient, with no fear or confusion. Thank you and I look forward to returning and completing my procedure. I look forward to wearing sandals and polishing my toenails bright red
I had a complete rupture of my left Achilles tendon in July, 2021. Dr. Friscia and his staff got me in for consultation very quickly and scheduled me for surgery a week later. Ten months later, I have just completed a 100 mile hiking trip with zero pain or issues. If that's not a testament to Dr. Friscia, I don't know what is!

Dr. Friscia is my hero. He performed a masterful reconstruction surgery on my painful arthritic foot. I suffered with pain for 30 years until I found a Doctor that I believed could correct my foot. I trust him with my life. He is AWSOME!!
I had an appt with Dr. Friscia he is amazing and I spoke with Sonia over the phone and answered all my questions. She is wonderful as well.
Dr. Friscia took care of a severe broken ankle for my husband and now bunion relief surgeries for me. His care has been exceptional. He is caring and has great skill. I would recommend him to anyone in need of his specialty. His P.A. is knowledgeable and vested in extend care and helping us navigate our experience. His staff is professional and demonstrates skill that says one is in good hands. I am especially appreciative of Katia.
Following what I believe was a successful open achilles repair by Dr. Friscia, the incision opened slightly after 6 weeks and under his care it expanded and became a long term wound issue. In spite of the persistent wound, the doctor chose not to refer me to a wound clinic, even while the treatments in his office over the course of 2+ months were wholly ineffective, and possibly damaging. As weekly office visits produced worsening outcomes, the doctor's solution was to perform not one, but two, more "surgeries" under general anesthesia to debride the wound that his care was sustaining. Ultimately, I lost complete confidence in the doctor. He was a bumbling, horrible communicator unable to make much eye contact, nor to articulate any plan/goals for treating the wound other than performing repeat surgeries. Thus, when I was stable enough, I sought competent medical care elsewhere. Overall, Dr. Friscia provided an inept standard of care and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
I went to see Dr FRISCIA today my visit was really good , Dr was very nice and explained everything going on with my foot and treated me all in the same visit . I would strongly recommend him to anyone having foot pain . we really are lucky to have wonderful providers . in the Desert .

For over fifty years I have suffered from ankle damage caused by a gunshot wound received in Viet Nam. Reaching a stage where walking had become very difficult, I decided to seek a remedy. Following a careful investigation, I consulted with Dr. Friscia. After an initial visit, followed by X-rays and a CT Scan, I decided on a total ankle replacement. Dr. Friscia is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but possesses a demeanor that inspires a patient's confidence. Six months after the replacement, I am pain free and have regained a degree of mobility that I had not enjoyed for many years. I highly recommend Dr. Friscia to anyone who suffers with a debilitating ankle injury.
I had a full ankle replacement from Dr. Friscia in July. I am 80 years old and had concerns about having this surgery, since online research indicated this joint replacement has not been done nearly as often as other joints. We also had concerns about the surgery during a pandemic and at my age. My spouse and I were extremely impressed with the time Dr. Friscia took to carefully answer our questions. He and his team are extremely conscientious about both surgeries and patients. He and his office have even researched orthopedic boots, providing one at the first follow-up appointment. Having to wear it for two months, the fit was important. I had suffered a lot of pain for two years and now, I am walking independently without the pain. I know it was the combination of Dr. Friscia’s fine surgery and his staff’s consistent professional caring that made the difference.
It took me so long to write this review when my son and I always talked about doing this over and over. My son Leo was in a very bad car accident in 2015 in La Quinta Ca. His injuries were very severe (TBI) and since the beginning all I heard from Doctors was negativity. As a mother I always kept this very positive and never lost hope, once my son was stabilized, I brought him home and we started all kinds of therapies, within a year I noticed my son's feet were not normal, I requested to see an orthopedic even tho my son's primary doctor at the time said to me he didn't think there was nothing to do to resolve this problem, I insisted and we saw the orthopedic my son had a "foot drop" due to TBI he prescribed some special boots and splints and we continued with life and therapies a few months later we went back to orthopedic as his feet were not getting better and I could not put his tennis shoes, orthopedic continue prescribing different types of splints, we continued with therapy and nothing seem to help. I did change primary doctors, the second primary doctor sent us again to see an orthopedic, we just continued to get the same answers and same recommendations over and over with no results. I then Asked our second primary doctor to send us to a foot surgeon he replied to me saying I don't think there is something they can do, he looked at my son's feet with the look of a doubt insisting and saying this is just the way it is. I insisted to see a foot surgeon and he ended sending us to Eisenhower Hospital where we met Doctor David Friscia, the first thing he said when he saw my son's feet was "of course I can repair this damage", the light of hope was so bright, my son and I felt so blessed and always knew that we would find a Doctor who will believe that he/she could do something about Leo's feet and help him heal. a few weeks later Doctor David Friscia did a foot drop surgery to my son and when my son came out of surgery with his feet aligned and straight was a day of so much gratitude, tears of joy and happiness. Doctor David Friscia we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts because you changed our lives forever, my son Leo can wear his favorite tennis shoes, no pain, no discomfort, we believe in the power of healing and we are so thankful to God for allowing us to find YOU! My son's foot surgery was in 2018 we hope you remember Leo as he does remember you and he wanted me to write this review for you since then. THANK YOU GOD BLESS YOUR HEART AND HANDS TO HELP OTHERS LIKE YOU HELPED MY SON. It took me so long to write this review when my son and I always talked about doing this over and over. I broke my ankle and fibula, and tore my ligaments on both sides of my ankle, on an overseas vacation in January. I had emergency surgery there in the developing country, allowing me to travel home. But it was a temporary fix. I then had corrective surgery with Dr Friscia a month later in February, and I am pleased with his meticulous attention to detail, and his using the latest technology to repair both my bones and ligaments. I was also very impressed with Eisenhower‘s operating suite, their pre-and post operative care (nurses and anesthesiologists were amazing), and enjoyed working with his PA, Bill, throughout the recovery. All Eisenhower and DOC staff were aligned with my care, and rooting for my full recovery. I’m pleased with the results, and expect a full recovery. The only criticism is for administrative staff to process pre approvals with Blue Shield faster. I had to follow up a lot, for a few weeks, for insurance and DOC to get pre approvals for surgery.
The worst, most uninvolved, least patient oriented physician I have EVER dealt with. Barely spoke to me or my partner, ever; even after two surgery in two months he never once came to me or my partner after to report on how things went. They went horribly. Because of his lack of attention and oversight of his PA I had 3 hospital admissions, 5 ER admissions, 2 surgeries, and ended up with an open wound for over 6 weeks that he did not address. I had to self-refer to a limb-salvage specialist and now I have a PICC line to my heart, daily IV antibiotics for at least 6 weeks, AND daily 2-3 hour Hyperbaric Oxygen tank sessions. This ordeal, which Fricia told me I would be recovered from and back at the gym by July, started on May 2nd and continues. I have been on "rest" in a chair for almost 4 months. I used to run 5 miles a day. Now, I have constant pain and neuropathy that may never leave. Because of the Medical Malpractice laws in CA it is impossible to hold this person accountable.

I had ankle surgery done by Dr Friscia for a severely disabled ankle due to RA. He not only gave me hope that he could fix my ankle but he actually did it!!! Two years later still going strong. I went from being obviously disabled to having a normal life again. Thank you Dr Friscia, I am forever grateful.
I broke my heel and Dr Friscia repaired my heel and took care of the bone that was sticking out, and later my knee so far so good . It's only been a year but I am very happy with the out come, , Dr Friscia spends the time that is needed with me and always ask if I have any questions, thank you Dr Friscia
The office is nice & staff is polite; However. I was kept waiting 90 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, making my total wait over 2 hours because I arrived early as required. Dr. Friscia spent 5 mins with me. He then mis-read my MRI results (which I confirmed w/ 2 other doctors), and prescribed a topical medication that cannot be used while breastfeeding, despite his staff TWICE confirming that I am nursing. Wasted $40 for meds I can’t use and can’t return. I was just a number to him.
Worst ever! Just waited an hour and he never bothered to see me. No respect for others schedule. Find a doctor that respects every patients time.

Dr. Friscia performed surgery on my ankle in which both bones were broken....he is a reserved quiet man of few words. Its true, that his PA takes most of his appointments post surgery, but i asked to see him and he came in to talk to me. All of the staff was very good and professional, there were never any long waits, i read the other reviews, but never had an issue making calls and getting in touch with someone. Overall, i am extremely happy with the whole experience.

After suffering for two years from loss of cartilage in an ankle I feel I was fortunate to have found Dr. Friscia at the Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center for complete ankle replacement surgery. The skill and expertise of Dr. Friscia and his staff carried me seamlessly through the preparation, surgery and painless recovery period in a caring and professional manner. It has been truly life changing for me, and I can now walk without pain.

I believe Dr. Friscia is a fine surgeon. I have had a good outcome from my surgery but I saw him only once before surgery (after being seen twice by his PA) and was seen by his PA three times post op. Never saw Dr. Friscia again after the operation. It is impossible to reach the practice by telephone. Today I was on hold 38 minutes before being transferred to voice mail directing me to leave a message and the call would be returned by the end of the next business day.
