Dr. David B. Ettinger

I simply can’t say how impressed and thankful I am to Dr. Ettinger and the staff! This team went  the extra mile to make sure that I felt at ease and comfortable during my first visit with them recently.  I was very anxious (who isnt when they visit the oral surgeon right?)  Everyone in the office made me feel  that they all genuinely cared about me as a patient and that I was in good hands. I needed a wisdom tooth removed and believe it or not, It was extracted that very same day! Unheard of right? I wasn't in any pain during or after this procedure (which was a complete shock to be honest.) I didn't even know the procedure was over and when I was told it was, I had to ask again because I just couldn't believe it. The post operative instructions were discussed/explained in such detail that I didn't have to refer back to the "cheat sheet" provided, not once. I can say with confidence, if YOU are in need of an oral surgeon you need to see Dr. Ettinger !!!! 

I was nervous about the idea of implants but was highly confident in Dr. Ettinger and his staff after my initial consult and couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome for my procedures. I had an extraction and two implants, which were finished within an hour, including anesthesia. I experienced no pain and healed so quickly my dentist was amazed. She expected a 6-month recovery but I was ready for crowns in 2 months. Super experience overall.

During our preliminary exam Dr. Etringer and his staff seemed friendly and helpful. But during our return the receptionist seemed very cold and short with us, only talking enough to get us to sign a form, ask for our temperatures, give a fake half hearted apology when she got information about my wife's procedure wrong, and pay announcing to the room how much. After which she did not say anything to me for the rest of my wait. Had no idea my wife was finished until I noticed her outside. I waved said goodbye have a nice day & got a cold look, easy to notice with no mask. During our very long wait I notice the treatment the white couple behind us got from the receptionist. She was friendly and talkative. Walking them through options when their card was declined, never announcing their fee. She went out of her way to let the wife know she could stay there in the waiting room or in her car and she would come out to let her know they were finished. I see why no award in over 10 years

Dr. Ettinger and his staff provided one of the most comforting and professional experiences I have ever had in health care. Dr. Ettinger was engaging and took the time to fully explain every aspect of my extraction and implant procedure. His staff was incredibly gracious, accomodating and, above all, caring. And everyone had a great sense of humor. What a find!

Dr. Ettinger is amazing. He is highly qualified, having earned both a degree in dental medicine (DMD) and a traditional doctor's degree as well, (MD). He provides superior medical and dental procedures. In my case, I wanted to have an implant, rather than a removable false tooth, to replace a tooth that needed extraction. Unfortunately, I did not have enough bone to hold the implant securely. Although disappointed with the advice of several other dentists, I did not give up on my goal. Dr. Ettinger was able to help me achieve my goal by completing a bone graft that made it possible for me to have a secure, stable implant inserted. I am very pleased with his work and my results. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ettinger, his excellent staff, and the great atmosphere in his Newark office. Everyone knew exactly what to do with calm careful work. Sedation is available, which is good for someone like me, but you will not be overmedicated. The procedure takes place quickly and efficiently. If you care about yourself, don't go anywhere else. I was referred to Dr. Ettinger to have 3 teeth extracted because my regular dentist could not get them out even after 2 and a half hours and 2 visits. Dr. Ettinger had all 3 out in under an hour, I had NO wait & was taken straight back even on black friday. I had next to no pain & couldent have gone smoother. NO ANESTHESIA EITHER. I recommend Dr. Ettinger to everyone & anyone. He is the best as are his staff members. They even called me an hour after the procedure at home to make sure all is well and that I dident need anything..

A truly pleasurable visit to an Oral Surgeon! From my first consultation to the day of the procedure, Dr.Ettinger and the staff made this easy. Everyone is absolutely professional and attentive. The waiting room is fabulous! You can even play a game of PAC-MAN on a vintage PAC-Man unit! Dr. Ettinger knows his business, and has a no-nonsense direct, informative approach. My procedure, which consisted of three teeth extracted (2 wisdom and a molar) was painless! If you can believe that! It felt like it took 5 minutes. One minute I am laying in the chair talking to the “doc” and the staff, and a minute later, I am waking up and feeling fine. That evening I received a call from the staff to check on me. And she kindly spent time explaining the answers to my questions. I would recommend these professionals to anyone.

Dr. Ettinger is an amazing oral surgeon. I trust him explicitly. I had a very bad infection at the implant site, and although he did not put on the implant tooth or re-cement it many, many times, he stood by his implant and did surgery to clean the area at no cost to me. He also didn't charge me for any subsequent office visit. This is a surgeon to be trusted!

I went to Doctor ettinger for 2 Surgery’s. One when I was around 11 years old my K-9 was growing up, he removed that and have had a full recovery. 10 years later I’m now 21 and had an implant put in on my front tooth. Surgery was 110% successful and I have made a great recovery. Doctor Ettinger is one of the most polite people I have ever met and have had some great conversations with him. Exceptional staff. Very nice bedside manner. Got an emergency 3 tooth extraction of which 2 of the teeth were wisdom teeth. It was next to painless and only took 15 mins.

Dr. Ettinger and his staff will take good care of you. I called Wednesday at 3:30 they fit me in for 4pm and set up tooth extraction Friday morning at 9am now that is service. every thing is healing up great. Thank You !!!

I came to Dr. Ettinger because I had the roots of a root canal that needed to be extracted. I was incredibly nervous because in my past I have had painful dental experiences (with other doctors). His staff is courteous and very friendly (especially Deb). I did not had to wait. They took time to answer my questions and explain things fully. Dr. Ettinger is brilliant - I felt no pain whatsover. Dr. Ettinger and his staff, especially Jackie, Christy, Alexa and the rest of the office staff were great with getting me in and out, and off to work in a timely and professional manner. He is friendly, but not too talkative-which is perfect for a surgeon dealing with the business at hand. I am so grateful for the efficiency of their staff and the willingness to work with me on such short notice. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs this type of service!

All staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Very clean environment. Dr Ettinger was informative and left all decisions up to me. I had a 9:30 appointment and left at 9:45. Very fast and very painless. I’ve had wisdom teeth out in the past by a different surgeon and Dr. Ettinger was by far the best. Highly recommend!

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Dr. Ettinger is an amazing surgeon. He fully explained the procedure and I felt comfortable asking questions. I had a great experience! All of the staff was very friendly including Dr. Ettinger. very relaxed environment (and I went in with a LOT of anxiety). Dr. explained to me what needed to be done within minutes. (I needed all four wisdom teeth out. One had been cutting me and a rotten baby tooth) I was in two days later and my bf said I was back in 20 min! anesthetic was gradual, and the perfect amount so I was coming to as they finished. (FELT NOTHING!) 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Dr Ettinger is absolutely brilliant. I've had two implants, one bone graft, and one extraction with him during the past two years. He has always allayed my fears of the unknown and once, during a particularly tense bit with drilling into my jaw, he unclenched my hands from digging my fingernails into my palms. I have never experienced any rudeness, abruptness, or anything other than supreme professionalism with Dr Ettinger. And all of his staff are absolutely lovely -- they are a perfect mesh.

David could come off arrogant and a little brash. Some may be offended but understand he gets the job done. He takes his craft serious. His staff is professional and friendly and made follow-up calls after my wisdom teeth surgery. I was in and out in less than an hour. I healed in just about a week. Great job Mr. Ettinger and staff.

He is very arrogant and rude. Brief search online and you can find awful stories describing how he treats patients. His staff is lovely but you can tell even they tread lightly around him. One assistant said to me that they couldn’t show him the poor quality of the X-ray they received from my dentist because he would “seriously lose it”. Um ok. He surely won’t be getting my money. You may be talented, but if you lack that bedside manner and can’t treat people with respect, you’re nothing.

I have been in Dr. Ettinger's office several times with my husband, son and my mom. Their staff has always been very attentive, especially the surgical assistant, Debbie. We also worked with Jewel, another surgical assistant, who was great, too! The finance person, Renee, let me know just what to expect as far as the bill and when the estimate was a tiny bit higher than the actual bill I got my refund very promptly. I had to get a severely broken tooth pulled and decided to get implants. The procedure to remove the tooth was so easy, I worked after it. The implants were easier than I ever thought. The staff was always on time, always upfront about prices and friendly and courteous. Dr. Ettinger knows his stuff and I would recommend him for ANYONE! Great Experience.

Highly recommended! Both of my children had wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Ettinger and had no problems and smooth, easy post-operative recovery. His use of platelet rich plasma helps to significantly reduce the risk of dry-socket. He has great training from Penn, extensive experience, and his office staff are caring, efficient and professional. We traveled a long distance to have him perform the procedure and we are glad we did!

This is my second experience with Dr. Ettinger. My son had surgery last year and my daughter had a procedure done this month. Both times, we had an excellent experience with Dr. Ettinger and his staff. They were very informative and sensitive to the kids' nervousness. The recovery was quick and with very little pain. Doctor Ettinger and the entire staff were phenomenal. I had my wisdom teeth out and the procedure was very quick and pain free. Dr. Ettinger answered any questions or concerns we had with thoroughly and respectful. He was kind to me the whole time and made me feel comfortable before and after the operation. I had four wisdom teeth removed in one go and as Dr. Ettinger had assured the procedure was a breeze through and I absolutely did not experience any pain during and after the procedure. All the staff were also extremely helpful and lovely. I definitely recommend Dr.Ettinger

Very skilled Dr...and very helpful staff

I hate going to the denist. I have an abnormal jaw line so my nerves are not where they should be which makes it difficult for me to get numb. So anytime I have major work to be done I want to be knocked out. So that means I go to Dr. Ettinger. He is a great denist with an excellent staff. They make going to the denist a nonevent, for me, that is saying something. In addition to having a no pain experience I have very quick recovery for any procedure I have done there.

If you are confused about selecting an Oral Surgeon, I would definitely suggest Dr. Ettinger. The staff is the most responsive and timely that I have dealt with throughout my numerous dental procedures. The nurses are very helpful and ease the process. As for Dr Ettinger, he seems to be very experienced in what he does and I felt very safe and comfortable when I had surgery to remove 6 teeth. He made the process as painless and less time consuming as possible. Scheduling is VERY convenient.

This office is WONDERFUL!! Absolutely make the pain of oral surgery a breeze!! The staff are all extremely kind and truly make their patients feel at ease. I was in and out with minimal swelling. Dr. Ettinger makes you feel at ease and calm for your procedure. Very experienced and professional. This will be the only oral surgeon I ever go to in the future.

Excellent environment and excellent results. Both my wife and I had dental implants with Dr. Ettinger. Scheduling was easy and all followup visits were the same. Dr. Ettinger used sedation(our choice), and healing was painless. he and his staff thoroughly explained all the procedures and what the end result would be. He's excellent. His staff is excellent. The process to get implants is lengthy but Dr. Ettinger is very good a examining, assessing, explaining, and performing the procedure with minimal stress and discomfort. His knowledge and confidence of the process helped me manage the appointments and also coordinate with my doctor. Dr. Ettinger has a great reputation and I have already encountered 3 other people who have had procedures performed by Dr. Ettinger and all have said good things about him as well. Also, the staff is wonderful!

I was referred to Dr. Ettinger for implants in 2005 . He completed 5 implants. Recently I needed a second option and he immediately came to mind. He removed the tooth that had been giving me trouble for over 2 months. His work with my implants withstood the test of time. He is and excellent surgeon. I did not have to use pain pills after his work. His staff is friendly and professional. I trust my most urgent dental needs to him and recommends him highly.

Dr. Ettinger was wonderful with our 13yo daughter, who was experiencing her first ever surgery of any kind. He managed to calm her anxiety and took excellent care of her.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ettinger and his staff when he performed implant surgery on me and a multiple wisdom tooth extraction on my daughter. The procedures were executed very smoothly and post-surgical pain was minimal. Having had multiple oral surgeries with other practitioners in the past, Dr. Ettinger was the best - hands down.
