After suffering from Alopecia on/off my entire life and going through post-partum hair loss twice, I was desperate for a solution to help the growth of my natural hair. There are many other things I’ve tried. I’ve had steroid shots in my scalp. I’ve used prescribed creams that were irritating and made my scalp burn. I even use Minoxidil on a religious basis and stay on top of my collagen peptides & vitamins everyday. I certainly got hair growth from some of these things but I wasn’t getting the results I wanted. I would be scrolling through my social media and see my senior photos from highschool thinking.. What happened to all of that hair I had? Sure, to the general public my hair looks healthy and full but when I compare it to my 18 year old self it was not even remotely the same hair I had. You know how it goes.. Fast forward to a few months later and I get an email from @ellisonmedical asking if I’d like to come in for a consultation on their services. He sits me down and goes over my medical history to make sure I am a good candidate for the PRP hair injections. He said most folks have fabulous results but some do not favor so well. This is why it’s important for a consult. Luckily I was a good candidate because I was ready to have the procedure done that day! He starts by drawing your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, extracting the plasma, and then injecting that plasma into your scalp. This plasma being rich in growth factors will essentially, ‘wake up’ your hair follicles to help with the growth of your hair. Creating a more dense strand of hair. So if you had thicker hair when you were younger that can help determine what your results could be.
