Dr. David S. Dawes

Is an excellent psychiatrist.

He needs to retire. His current location feels like the slum. The front desk people are incompetent. He seems tired and distracted.

One of the greatest. When I lost my only child, he reached out to me. Was very pleased with Dr. Dawes.

Not reliable. Staff doesn't do their jobs.

My time with dr.dawes was to say the least,interesting,i enjoyed his company while i was recovering,he helped me to see positive aspects of life,,my life,without his expertise i really dont think i would have made it out of compass a sane person,,God bless you dr.dawes???? linda winn

Dr. Dawes is nothing short of AMAZING! I have had so many doctors in my lifetime mostly due to an injury I had when I was 15 years old . I have had so many different doctors, specialist, general practitioners pretty much any form of doctor I have seen at one point or another. Dr. Dawes is a psychiatrist and he is amazing. I have been really struggling lately and trying to find help felt impossible. I had pretty much given up at this point. He was the last doctor that I made an appointment with and I had decided that I was just going to stop trying if this appointment was anything like the others. I had made an appointment with a different specialist office and not only was the staff horribly rude they refused to see me because I was seven minutes late due to them not answering the phone at any point.( I tried seven times ). I could not get anyone to assist me in finding the office. I actually sat at another psychiatrist office for 15 minutes because the address that I was given was not accurate. I was told that I had to reschedule and the earliest appointment was two weeks later. So I did I rescheduled. The day before the rescheduled appointment I received a phone call saying that the nurse practitioner that I was supposed to be seeing had an emergency and would not be in the office and they needed to reschedule me for a week later. The morning of my 3rd time they had rescheduled me at 7 AM I received a phone call from them. No message was left and of all the many many times I called back no one answered. When I arrive to that appointment and hour early the receptionist informed me that Miss Kathy the nurse practitioner I had an appointment with had another emergency and I had to reschedule and there was nothing available for a month. Needless to say after this appointment I felt hopeless. Thankfully I called and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Dawes after reading reviews on their office. He was wonderful he listened and he was in no way judge mental. He explained the course of treatment that he believed would help me and was very compassionate and empathetic. He truly treated me like I am a person which doesn’t always happen at doctors offices. He is an amazing doctor! And I would refer anyone that I know or even a stranger to Dr. Dawes! He’s amazing. Don’t give up there is help out there. And he is one of the few doctors I have ever seen that truly wants to help you. The staff is also amazing and very considerate! He’s amazing. Simply put. Always has a smile on his face when you walk in. I’ve been seeing him since 2014 and he’s helped me change my life tremendously. I can honestly say without his help I wouldn’t have the healthy family and social life that I have. Thank you so much Dr. Dawes. You are a blessing.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dawes for years. He has always been professional, caring and kind. It doesn’t matter to me if he has moved a lot or if he has an assistant in the room. He has always been there for me when I have needed him. I will continue seeing him.

He does not listen to patients concerns, is dismissive and condescending. I don't know how he still has a license to practice, especially for psychiatric needs.

Very uncomfortable with a staff person in his office. Waiting room like a clinic; people in and out within 5 minutes. Many people, noise, odors. No thanks will not be back

I have been with dr Dawes for over 10 years. In that time he has moved at least 4 times. He disappeared for over 6 months last year with no explanation. Dana was the best thing he had going for him. She was able to keep his patients calm and feeling like everything was ok. When he came back, we could not see him without another person in the room with him. That created a VERY uncomfortable feeling. I felt like I could not say what I needed to say The new location is not a safe feeling place. I don’t like walking so far to get to the door or walking through people smoking at the front door. I miss the professional feel at the other locations. Dr Dawes is a great dr. I just do not know if I can keep going to a place that makes me feel like I am going to a low income psychiatric facility. Therapy groups going on in the parking lot... not what I am used to. I do not know what is going on, but this last year with Dr. Dawes has created MORE anxiety.

Sterile, clinical and uninspiring. He typed on a laptop during the appointment. Little to say or recommend. Threw a prescription at me and said to come back in 6 weeks. Stay away.

I began seeing Dr. David Dawes when my first psychiatrist Dr. McDonald retired. I actually look forward to going to see Dr. Dawes. His secretary Dana is so friendly and I look forward to seeing her also. Dr. Dawes has gone above and beyond when trying to find the right medication when one does not work. I have been seeing him for at least 8-10 years now. I have no wait time or if I do it may be 5 minutes. He is not even on my insurance plan but I refuse to switch to someone that is a PPO provider that is how much I trust my mental health care to Dr. Dawes. I convinced my daughter to see him also and she too is extremely satisfied with his care for her mental health. We both suffer with anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

Dr. Dawes really cares about his patients.

Excellent physician and has helped me a great deal through his very empathetic nature and his thorough listening to the issues I may be working through from time to time.

Horrible on picking up signs of psychosis. Doesnt spend much time with patients doesnt see patients as frequent as he should. Doesnt hospitalize patients when needed, instead he sends them home for their families to deal with it
