Dr David Carrington is an abusive Arrogant and dangerous forensic psychiatrist who was forced to resign or be fired as director of psychiatry at Cook County Jail due to his misdiagnosis of so many and allowing staff to abuse the use of psychotropic drugs without supervision in violation of civil rights. Like many jail forensic psychiatrists he got full of himself and was blinded by confirmatory bias. He presumed officers & psychiatric social workers, assistants, & nurses never commit misconduct, despite the fact many working there do so because that is where they can abuse others and get away with it as proven by the Standford experiment which showed even decent folk degenerate into abusive people in a closed jail system without extreme supervision. His outrageously allowing illegal overuse of psychotropic drugs simply to shut up those with complaints, including those beaten by guards, should have led to loss of his license. For more info and proof read editorial in 2006 issue of JOURNAL OF PSYCHIATRY & THE LAW by Dr Richard Rappaport about abuse in jails by misdiagnosis and contact DrLindaShelton via Google search on the Internet for hard evidence. Also read DOJ Northern IL Div Atty Gen 2008 report on investigation of civil rights abuses at Cook County jail describing conditions on psychiatry unit so bad they were forced in consent agreement to change policies - and remove Carrington was result. The only reason he wasn't sued massively is statute of limitations was past and inmates too poor and defamed to get pro bono legal services. He simply refused to take seriously complaints from inmates & misdiagnosed those making complaints.
