Terrible person

This dr is the most amazing person he is so nice. I am 9 years old and he has been taking care of me since I was a toddler. He is patient and cares about his patients. This man has a heart of gold!

Excellent

I made an appointment for my 3yr old son for Dr Scher on a Monday for 1:50. The individual I made the appointment with was very nice took all of my insurance information and confirmed the appointment. When I got to the appointment at a few minutes before 1:50 the receptionist told me I had to reschedule because I needed to be there 15 minutes early, which I was never told. I asked her if we could still see the doctor as I have an infant and a 3yr told and drive 30 minutes to get here and she shrugged rudely and said too bad. I have no idea if this doctor is any good but I do know I’ve never been turned away from an appointment for not arriving 15 minutes early therefore I won’t be going back.

I love coming to this office because they’re never late with appts and treat you well.

Dr. Scher listened to the symptoms I was experiencing and then sent me for a specific lab work up. He diagnosed something that was ailing me for a long time with just one visit.

Lazy, uncaring, full of self. Perhaps the meanest office staff on east coast. The office staff behavior tells you more about the dr than any review. The other medical professionals in the area tell even more. Be vey careful with this doctors office because they will not care about you.

I was 2 minutes late for an appointment & they had to cancel it &reschedule. Really? he is not a top NY doctor. I have went to better doctors & wouldn't cancel especially when I canceled another appointment i had to make this one . Plus first time there I hit traffic & took a minute to get out of my car & find office. Actually thought my appointment was 5 minutes later & they didn't call to confirm it wasn't.

Dr. Scher is a highly qualified physician; however, I found his examination to be perfunctory and the visit less than satisfactory. If you have a serious disease/illness, I am sure Dr. Scher would rise to the occasion. If he considers you have a runof-the-mill malady, the implication is that you are not worth his valuable time.

Dr. Scher was quick to respond to a follow up concern I had following a simple procedure. He called me back personally and was very reassuring. So nice to know he took the time and it shows he is interested in keeping his patients happy!

Dr. Scher seems harried and hurried in appointments. I selected him because of the other very positive reviews I read on this site, and because he seemed to have an impressive pedigree, with a residency at Yale. He may be competent, and correct in his diagnosis, but I did not get the sense that he was truly listening to what I was saying. When I asked him if there was anything I should be doing besides taking the medication he prescribed, he handed me literature, without further discussion.

I cannot say enough about Dr.Scher. He is always on time and extremely thorough with his exams. He is truly a great doctor that cares about his patients.
