Daniel T Phelan

He cross-threaded a screw in a plate while repairing a bone fracture in my leg, so it had to be removed by another surgeon by sawing off the screw. He ran out of an exam room before I had finished with my questions, saying he “had already spent more time with me than he usually does with his patients.” The last time I was examined by him, I was not given the dignity of an exam room. Instead, I was placed in a shallow linen alcove in a busy hallway. I was placed on a folding chair with my fractured leg out in the narrow hallway, near a corner where people were flying by. He examined my broken leg by standing behind me and looking over my shoulder. That was the day I knew for certain he could never be trusted.

Dr. Dutt and Dr. Phelan performed an ACL reconstruction surgery on our 9 year old son. Six months Post op and he is fully recovered and back on the sports fields! Dr. Phelan was absolutely wonderful since our 1st apt with him. He is so awesome with children and so full of knowledge and compassion. He's an amazing surgeon and a wonderful person! Dr Phelan has great bed side manner and was very attentive to my needs and concerns. He listened to and answered all of my questions and put me at ease. I definitely plan on sticking with him for any further knee issues!

Dr. Phelan was recommended to me. Said he was great to see for shoulder injuries. Had scheduled a 9:50 appointment today. At 10:50 I still hadn’t been seen. Have no idea if he’s a good doc, but he’s certainly not respectful of your time. Just another one of those physicians who thinks he’s better than you because he’s a doctor.

Awesome job! Others said I wouldn’t run ever again after tearing my ACL,PCL and LCL and miniscus. I had my visit with phalen. Without hesitation he said we are doing this then this! I was seen at the bone and joint center in april 2020. I knew something was wrong with my bicep. I was told nothing showed on the x-ray. It’s probably just a muscle strain. I tried physical therapy and it was not helping . I Aug of 2020 i decided to change to Dr.Phalen. My children had him and the past and i loved him and the care he provided. He did a cortisone shot in my shoulder. It helped a little but not to much. He then fielded to order a MRI . After doing a MIR for me i was told i had a bicep tear and could have surgery to repair it. The surgery was longer than planned because my bicep was completely shredded. I don’t know how this happened. I can say i’m only about 6 weeks after my surgery and can tell a huge difference. Feels so much better already . Dr. Phalen is the best orthopedic i have came across. He takes the time to check everything and explain the issue. He then explains the options we have from finding out the problem. I highly recommend the bone and joint center. Dr. Phelan has been one of my doctors for years. Dr. Phelan takes the time to listen to your concerns and explains everything to you that is easy to understand. He is never too busy to listen to you, an Excellent doctor, and one I will highly recommend to anyone!

Dr. Phelan kept it simple and made me understand how to proceed. Felt very comfortable and he actually treated me like a human being and not just like a robot. Was very personable and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking a Dr at the Bone and Joint center.

Dr Phalen takes the time to listen to you and thoroughly examine you. When he operated on my daughter he took the time to explain the procedure to us before the procedure and after. He’ll answer your questions no matter what they may be. She was back playing hockey in the time Dr Phalen said she’d be; things went fantastically.

Doctor Phelan is the best!!!!! Hands down. Idk what the person below me is smoking, complaining cause of the wait, guess what lady? They are busy!!! That does not define this man at all. He is thorough and addresses all concerns. He is personable and is a FANTASTIC DOCTOR.

He has the ultimate bedside manner and was extremely patient and thorough when he discussed my tests, procedure and post op protocols. This is a busy place. The staff are always courteous and quick. My shoulder surgeon Dr. Dan Phelan has been very attentive from my initial injury all the way through my post surgical follow-ups. Very quick to complete necessary FMLA paperwork for my employer. A top notch facility and doctor all around I would recommend.

My daughter has been having hip pain. Dr. Phelan was great about explaining to her what he thought the issue was and what the next steps were going to be to heal. The staff took care of me quickly and professionally. I could not have asked for better care. I was expecting a long wait for urgent care on my newly fractured wrist, but was pleasantly surprised by immediate responses from all the staff.

He lies about treatments, tell you one thing next month tell you he never said it. Makes excuses why your not healing, tell you he is the best orthro in NYS but will refer you to someone outside of NYS. Test results from specialist say one thing he will tell you no I dont see that. Don't worry it's all good. DON'T GO TO HIM!! You will be sorry
