Here I am 12 years later!! At 12 years old I came down exstremely sick. For months my family battled with finding me healthcare solutions until my pediatrician sent me to the hospital. Just days after turning 13. I still remember freaking out in the office thinking I would die. I was admitted into Fairfax INOVA and that is where my family met Dr. Keim during my treatment. My mom even had to tell him not to tell me he was infectious disease because I loved the she House at the time. Multiple doctor's and nurses had determined I had leukemia since that was the closest thing they could think was wrong with my care until he found the citrobactor in my upper right kidney. Dr. Keim provided excellent care for my son's serious and unusual illness. His bedside manner was extraordinary. My son was very comfortable with him. He kept my husband and me updated, listened carefully, took our concerns seriously, and never rushed through consultations. I am terribly grateful for his kindness but most especially for his committment to researching and finding the best course for my son's treatment.
