So glad to have him as my doctor. Cannot praise him enough for the care he gives me related to nerve damage in my left leg.

This was my first visit and everything went great. Dr Heller explained everything to me regarding my issue and provided me multiple options moving forward. Would highly recommend to anyone in search of pain management options.

I have been going to Dr. Heller for years with my back problems. I am walking testimony to his ability to treat my pain and improve my quality of life.

Dr Heller has been my pain management physician for over ten years. I’ve found him to be a good listener and I trust his recommendations completely. My issues have been pre and post surgeries and he has never provided ‘cookie cutter’ options for each event. I appreciate his help.

My appointment with Dr Heller in February 2023 was good. I was seen in a timely manner. He is easy to talk with and I respect his work with regards to managing my back pain. I would refer him to friends with help managing back pain.

This was my first visit with is doctor. My appointment was at 8:30 but was not called back until 9:15, assistant was not sure of why I was there. Once doctor came in and we discussed my issues he was fabulous. Very thorough asked me many questions so that we can have a game plan to help me. I was well with the wait. I would highly recommend him!!!

Let me start by saying in my first meeting with him, he refused to return my greeting. That was probably the best moment of my appointment. He is arrogant and rude. He told me that he couldn't see anything wrong with my back, despite the fact it had been treated (with great success) and he himself had done a round of injections. Am I then to understand he treats patients unnecessarily? Furthermore, an hour after I left, my pharmacy contacted me telling me he had prescribed a highly addictive drug to me without even mentioning it to me during my visit. If he had, I would have refused. When I followed up with him as to why that happened, he refused to answer my question. It must be embarrassing for the other doctors at Blue Ridge to have to practice with this guy.

Dr. Heller is an excellent pain management .He is very caring and understanding. Tries to work with you with your needs. A very pleasant person

Always interested in how I'm doing, any new symptoms, and any new pain. I get seen in a timely manner and all the staff are friendly and pleasant. Never had an issue in all the years I've been seeing Dr. Heller.

I have worked with Dr. Heller for more than 15 years due to chronic pain from injury and progressive disease. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and exactly the right man you want on your team in terms of pain management. Top shelf doctor!

I want it known that I have filed a lawsuit against Dr.Heller. The merits of my legal action will be decided by a judge. Dr. Heller has every right to defend himself and his actions in court. I will say factually that unlike the majority of pain management doctors who are board certified Anesthesiologists Dr Heller is just a Physical Medicine Doctor. In the residency match system Physical Medicine residencies are one of the least competitive matches and frequently are filled by graduate medical school students who cannot match into the high paying highly competitive residency matches like cardiology or orthopaedic surgery. Close to the bottom of the barrel in residency matches. I have left his care and am seeing a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who agreed to do a procedure Dr. Heller said he WAS AFRAID TO DO. While I cannot tell anyone what doctor they should see I can simply state the facts herein. Physical Medicine is a non competitive match and Dr Heller is not a Board Certified anesthesiologist. Dr Heller is a one on one physician who takes interest in his patients individual needs. He listens topain specific needs! He also is one of the very few that allows patients to be sedated when getting steroid spinal injections so you do not tense up to allow for a more precise targeted area and longer results!

As a long time patient at this practice and various conditions I had my first appointment with Dr Heller and my initial impression wasn't what I would have expected. He was condescending and left me feeling disrespected so much so I left in tears. He isn’t in my body nor knows what I am going through and has cast judgement on me and has decided he was going to change up my medication regimen abruptly. I have never been so belittled in my life and never treat people like he did me. Let’s hope he was having a bad day and my next appt will be better. If not I will be switching to another practice for sure!

After spending quite a ot of time trying to resolve several issues I filed suit against Dr. Hellet. The suit is pending and only a judge or jury can decide the outcome. I am now under the care of a Board Certified Anesthesiologist which the majority of pain management physicians are. Dr. Hellers redidency was in physical medicine one of the least competitive residency matches I have had several pain management physicians in my lifetime and have seen the difference between Anesthesiologist and physical medicine residency training For two years I asked dr heller to consider a procedure that in the past brought excellent relief Dr Heller said he could not do the procedure due to previous implants in my spine On my first visit to my new physician a Bosrd Certifiex anesthesiologist had said he could do it and will finalize date and time on my next appointment Only you can decide if you want to seek care with Dr Heller I will follow up with results after the trial

He's a good doctor overall and you can tell he has a lot of experience. He's also very judgemental and doesn't do his due deligence when it comes to understanding the patient's history. The main thing (I studied psychology) that stood out to me was Dr. Heller looked like he was the one that was in a lot pain. His eyes said it all... it's seems deep. My recommendation is that he take a break from work and go on vacation. While he's at it, he needs to look for a pain management doc for himself. Life will humble Dr. Heller! Seen at appointment time, concerned about my back issues. Answered my questions about other back issues which have developed recently. Wish all of my doctors showed the same kind of care and concern.

Dr. Heller has been easy to talk with, as it is clear he listens. I have never felt rushed and his demeanor is caring & professional. I am thankful for his care.

Nothing but the highest regard for Dr. Heller and his staff. His intervention helped me with a serious back pain issue when other methods and MDs failed to find/fix the cause.

I was a patient of alleged Dr. Heller for a year or two. While in his “care,” he refused my repeated requests for more medication despite deterioration of my discs and increasing levels of pain. I left his “care” but it was too late and surgery was the only alternative. In my opinion he missed his calling....he ought to have been a veterinarian or a fish monger. One good thing...he treats everyone exactly the same...poorly and dismissively, as if they are criminals & drug addicts. BAD KARMA!

NOTE: scanning the 1 star reviews seem to be all patients on opiates; take that with a grain of salt. I went to Dr. Heller for a 13 year long chronic pain issue in my hip. He suspected it could be emanating from my lower lumbar and scheduled an MRI and scripted me a muscle relaxer and a stronger NSAID, which provided greater pain relief than I've enjoyed in years. He's knowledgeable and proactive, and has a very friendly manner. I feel I've found a solid doctor that I will continue with!

Office doesn't respond to emails, voicemails, Facebook messages, anything. Very unprofessional. Ultimately would not see me and would not tell me why. Huge waste of my time.

I've been seeing Dr. Heller for the past 3 months and couldn't be more pleased with my progress. He has diagnosed and treated my ailment with the utmost care and compassion. I would recommend Dr. Heller and his group to anyone! Very pleased.

I'm not sure why Dr. Heller is in pain management or even a doctor at all! He's an awful doctor who treats EVERYONE like a drug addicted criminal!! My disabled mom who is in her 60's & has never been in trouble her whole life was referred to Heller after her longtime family practice dr retired. In the 5 mins Dr.Heller spent with my Mom, he treated her very badly, he was rude, cold & focused on addiction instead of her medical issue! He clearly needs to be in another field of work!

Second time I saw Dr. Heller. 1st time all of 1 min and No help with my pain. 2nd time 30 seconds, so impersonal, rude and still no help with my pain. They did'nt have any records of me being in physical therepy for over 3 months. So Medicaid denied me. He focused more on pain addiction that's not real instead of helping me. Terrible Doctor

Dr Heller seems to focus too much on addiction that isn't real and not enough on pain that is real. As a pain management doctor he is horrible. Went for SI joint pain. He did an MRI of my back. Said he couldn't see my SI joint on the MRI. Recommended physical therapy after I refuse due to let him insert a spinal stimulator but didn't write up a referral. He treats me like an addict looking for pills as opposed to a business owner, homeowner, parent, and veteran that I am.

I am a cancer survivor and have post chemo neuropathy, Dr. Heller was treating this with Percocet and Lyrica. I got a phone call today saying I was being discharged due to noncompliance. The 1st noncompliance was that I consumed a 1 marijuana cookie for the pain which I was completely honest with Dr. Heller and now they are saying that Vicodin has showed up and was not prescribed by him. If you want to treated like a criminal by a uncompassionate dr that spends 3 min with you see Dr. Heller
