Two of my sons had an appointment with Dr DiMeo today for a second opinion about their GI conditions. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He was also very kind and spent a lot of time with us answering all my questions. Very happy with how our appointment went and with his future treatment plan for my kids!

told my best friend that it was all in her head and dismissed her from the clinic because she got a second opinion and he was wrong. yikes.

Just said my daughter is not loosing weight or blood in stool so there is nothing wrong when there is. She is only 3 months,she has been vomiting, screaming her head off.....

Told my friend all her stomach issues were in her head she now went to a better hospital and got a diagnosis. He repeatedly told her she had an eating disorder and tried to send her away. He tested a few things and turned her away it was very traumatic for her.

He can cure a stomach ache with a mere glance. 10/10.

I was very impressed with the time and patience given during our appointment. He addressed all of questions and concerns. Dr. DiMeo was kind and gentle when examining my son. Thank you !!

I gave him the second star only because I could tell he does have compassion for children. I first took my son to him quite awhile ago for g.i. distress, and he diagnosed constipation-related diarrhea. After six months of high-doses of Miralax, my son only got marginally better. But I could tell there was something more causing the distress. I did my research and found a unique set of g.i. disorders uniquely related to children with autism (which my son has). I took this research to Dr. DiMeo and requested consideration for scoping procedures, and he refused, saying he only would do them if the child presented with bloody stools or over a week without a bowel movement. I made multiple requests and got multiple refusals. So I found a pediatric g.i. doctor who would listen and consider these procedures (halfway across the country). Endoscopy, colonoscopy, and wireless pillcam endoscopy revealed a multitude of abnormal g.i. conditions. If it ended in "itis" or "opathy" and was from his lower esophagus all the way to the terminal ileum, my son had it, along with a case of IBD. I lost almost a year of treatment time because of Dr. DiMeo's closed-mindedness. It only makes me wonder how my son would be doing now (and he still struggles with some of these conditions) if we had that year back and started with actual treatment. Like I said, Dr. DiMeo seemed like a nice guy and had compassion for children. It's just that I lost all that time because he didn't want to "think outside the box" and even consider anything that he referred to as "unconventional." I hope and pray that in the time since I took my son to him, he has become more open-minded when it comes to all potential conditions and treatments. There are children who need this type of treatment in the area, and if he would consider all possibilities, it would certainly be beneficial to his potential patients. Dr.vDiMeo is amazing .. kind, caring, and went out of his way to find the correct compounded medications for my son. Truly a Godsend for us. Recommend him most highly!

At first we sent my child there and I liked him and thought he was helpful but he began suggesting medications that are not safe for children and not recommended for children by the manufacturer and then asking that my 4 year old take 2x the dosage of a adult amount. When I asked about other options he stated that there are no other options ( I found that there were) and if I didntd like it then I could find someone else. I cannot tell you how happy I with our new GI who doesn't poison my child. TL;DR - Dr. Dimeo is great and I highly recommend him! Dr. Dimeo has cared for our 3yo since her NICU discharge. She was born at just over 1 pound with triplet siblings. Her diagnosis of a TE fistula w/ atresia, was further complicated with significant congenital heart defects. She utilized a G-tube for over 2 years, as well as, had a fundoplication procedure and numerous esophagus dilatations. Through all of that, I really got to know Dr. Dimeo and his professional staff (Nurse Melissa ✌????). As a father himself, I felt his empathy was sincere and he made decisions as if she were his own child. I saw a contrary, 1-star Google review (“Mrs. Miller”) and had to set the record straight. I suspect she is referring to the use of an antacid, such as omeprazole. If so, the use of such is also accompanied with routine blood work and limited periods of use. Regarding dosing, acute gastritis may best be treated with a higher dose than recommended for short durations. All of which can easily be researched and is an industry standard. It is his way or the highway. You cannot ask questions or suggest anything to him. He uses medications that are not recommended for children and then uses 2x the amount recommended for an adult. When you ask about getting a second opinion he says he wont see the patient again and they would say the same thing which I found was extremely incorrect. He has terrible manner and often talks over you when you are trying to ask and understand what the procedure or medication is. Consider someone else.

I can not say enough great things about Dr. Dimeo and his nurses. Our son's Crohn's Disease diagnosis was a hard pill to swallow, but the care and knowledge of Dimeo and his nurses has made this journey much more bearable. We are thankful beyond words for their expertise. Our family highly recommends Dr. Dimeo to anyone with GI issues. His care has completely changed our son's quality of life for the better.

Dr Dimeo will not see patients who have seen another GI. He won't consent to coordinating care with patients whose primary GI doctors are far away due to multiple medical conditions. He does not allow patients to seek second opinions. This is pretty messed up.

One of the best doctors we have ever seen for our son. He keeps appointments open for new patients so we were able to get an appointment within a week of calling. He was running ahead of schedule and they took us back immediately for our appointment. He had already read our son's file and took plenty of time to understand his situation. He even adjusted his schedule to get him in for testing as soon as possible. He was very caring and considerate during the procedure. Awesome doctor!
