I sat down with Dr. Bernstein the day after my daughter was diagnosed at LCPH ER with ASD and SVT. Dr. Bernstein handed my husband and I the AHA reading material and explained my daughter's conditions and what they could do to treat them. After his talk, I asked him to speak with my daughter, aged 8, at her bedside and tell her what he had just told us. He kindly did that. Afterwards my daughter said that she "felt good." From that moment on all physicians who operated on her answered to her directly and to us indirectly. Her care was very good and she went on to become a D3 College All American water polo player and physician. My gratitude toward Dr. Bernstein and staff is still as strong today as it was 21 years ago.
