Dr. Claudia Hilburn Methvin

Scheduled for a full physical. Got a cursory glance over. For the ten-minutes I spent in her exam room, six minutes were spent filling out Medicare forms on her computer. Don’t know if she treats all her patients with condescension, but I took it personally. She made her antipathy towards me very clear. Will be looking for a new physician.

Dr. Methvin has been my doctor for a long time and has always taken care of me. I'm in a wheelchair and my needs are sometimes different than what others may need. She always asks questions and listens to what I say. She helps me whether it's a prescription for meds, helpful suggestions or a script to get repairs on my wheelchair

Explains things well, spends time and answers questions fully during every visit. I didn’t think there were doctors practicing anymore that actually care more about each patient than how many they can bill in a day.

Called to make an appointment for a new GP. I was told that this doctor would not see anyone who was not vaccinated. I have a medical issue that permits me for getting vaccinated. So when did doctors who took an oath to do no harm become Marxist. What happened to my body my choice. This is what she says about herself: “There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to healthcare. Had a great initial appointment with Dr. Met him and her staff! I appreciate that she did not seem rushed and took time to talk to me so she could understand my medical history. Everyone was very casual and friendly!

The best doctor I’ve ever seen.. Very caring and very professional.. Would highly recommend to anyone

Worst (literally, life threatening!) experiences with that office. Had I JUST listened to them, I would not have ended up going to a specialist who found my CANCER, although my symptom, bloody urine, should have been looked into further by them or sent to a specialist, not blamed on a DIET! There are many diagnosis that could explain the reason I was there the 2nd time to see her. In person, she was fine. Her office notes (MY MEDICAL RECORDS!!!) on the other hand, I believe were condescending and very dismissive of my symptom, extreme fatigue, although there are quite a few of my diagnosis that could have helped explain it along with 4 more that I have been diagnosed with since seeing her (she did not seem, to me, to be interested in DIAGNOSING ANYTHING!) I have NEVER gone to her since, and would DEF not recommend this office…

WORST experiences (potentially life threatening!!!) with this office than anywhere I have EVER been in over 50 years for both visits! First impression was great! But did not last. Went in first time for blood in my urine (whole bowl). Had me come back to do urinalysis. PA called said it was from my DIET, keto. 2nd time I saw her was for EXTREME fatigue. Only thing she told me was to have bloodwork done. But when I got the visit notes I was INCREDULOUS! She basically said she didn’t think she would find anything but would send me for labs. My impression I’d the rest of it was that I was attention seeking and basically crazy. Needless to say, I NEVER went back to HER!!! Since I was at her office I have been diagnosed with multiple things that could cause extreme fatigue. One was, yes…. BLADDER CANCER!!!!!! One of the main reasons for blood in urine, I have found since is CANCER (not keto!) I thank God that I found a Dr in time and a urologist that LISTENED to me, gave me the proper tests and found and removed my BLADDER CANCER! I wouldn’t send someone I didn’t like to this dr, let alone anyone I care about! Life is short, but it can be a WHOLE lot shorter without proper diagnosis and treatment!

I had such a great experience switching to Dr. Methvin. She was very thorough and listened to all of my concerns. I felt like she understood exactly why I needed care and what was going on. I appreciate the nature of the office and how it is run (nurses and reception included!). I feel like I'm in good hands now.

Dr. Methvin and her staff are very caring. She takes the time to really listen and figure out the causes of your symptoms.

We had a very good experience. Dr. Claudia Methvin, MD, PLCC is very thorough when she talks to us about anything that might be troubling us medically. She takes her time to listen to all of our concerns. I would strongly recommend her.

Dr Methvin is amazing. Her and her staff are my kind of people. They tell you straight out what you need to do. They all live in this community and know what’s going on in and out of their office.

Dr Claudia Methvin is competent and caring in her practice as our family Physician. We have no complaints to register about the care we have received throughout the years. The atmosphere in her office is warm and friendly.

Methvin had been my physician for seven years and in that time never did a complete exam. She spent her time with her nose in her computer rather than listening to me or paying any attention to me at all. She refused to take my blue cross/blue shield insurance the last time I went even tho it was the exact same insurance I had always had and her receptionist did not know how to use their credit card terminal. I lost my colon because of her ineptitude. Find another doctor, do not use this woman!

I'm so grateful that Dr. Methvin took the time to truly listen to me. Not only is she the most helpful primary care provider I've had, but she's clearly a skilled doctor.

Dr. Methvin takes time with you and she listens. Genuinely concerned about your health. One of the best doctors I have used. 6 stars!

Feb. 2019-no longer accepting new patients. Her reviews as a doctor seem to be amazing, her office staff is the worst. I recently transfered to the area. After checking her website, which stated that she is currently accepting new patients, I called. I was seeking clarity that they, indeed, weren't accepting patients. Her receptionist answered my inquiry with anger. "Why should I check my website when you clearly will & call me back?!!?" I was shocked to be treated so rudely. Don't recommend

Dr Methvin has provided great care as my primary physician for several years. Head RN Stephanie is also great.

I would like to recommend this physician to family and friends. My visit with Dr. Methvin was on August 1st of this year was excellent and I was so happy that she was so very thorough regarding my examination and very smart MD. Thank you again for your assistance.

Extremely knowledgeable- explains everything in words you can understand. She is a very caring doctor and will go to any lengths to help you. I highly recommend.

Despite what is stated here, I phoned her office today and was told that she is not accepting new patients. It had nothing to do with my insurance, as the person I spoke with never asked for any information, just "we are not accepting new patients."

We had just moved to Woodstock, needing to change doctors as you know is very scary. Not sure we would ever find that faith and comfortably in another doctor ever again, we started our search. Dr. M hangs her shingle in front of an Old house, not a fancy office. She came in sat down, looked at my medical history, asked me about myself, listened, took notes, examined me and made suggestions that would take me off several Meds I had been taking for years. I feel SO much better. She's a keeper!

She was kind and understanding. .SHE'S A GREAT DOCTOR AND I WISH I WAS STILL WITH HER . MY quality of life got a lot better after being with her wish I would have not left her practice. ..

Dr. Methvin (or Dr. Muffin as my 2 yr. old says) is a wonderful family Dr. By FAR the best I've had in my 30+ years. She tries her best and it shows. If you have any questions or concerns she is more than willing to listen and give her best advice. If she doesn't know something (or is even a little unsure) she has no hesitation in referring you to a specialist and still keeps up with and answers any subsequent matters/ questions. In all earnestness she is the FIRST Dr. I've ever had who was more concerned about me than anything else. I hope she stays in practice for a very long time as I would be hard pressed to find another Dr. of such quality.
