Dr. Christopher S Sipe

I went to the Fertility Center of Illinois ready to embark on my egg freezing journey and coming from someone who interacts with the medical industry daily for my career, I had several questions lined up. Knowing the process was going to be overwhelming, I did go in very excited and with a positive attitude. After my initial consult with Dr. Christopher Sipe that all quickly changed. Not only did Dr. Sipe speak down to me but made me feel incompetent regarding the entire process. The few questions I did have were dismissed and I was left feeling rushed, disrespected, and defeated. The Fertility Center of Illinois then charged my insurance for diagnostics and testing, that were never completed. After these experiences I chose not to move forward with Dr. Sipe and the Fertility Center of Illinois as a whole. All I can recommend is that you find a fertility doctor that you respect and that treats you with the empathy and dignity you deserve, which you will not have with Dr. Sipe.

Would highly recommend FCI to anyone looking for help with fertility. All of the staff are extremely helpful and kind. FCI offers many locations and is flexible on appointment times. Dr. Sipe and his team are very knowledgeable and great to work with.

Our Visit with Dr.Sipe was awful. He treats you more like a number than a person. Wish we never went to him in the first place. After about 7 months in his care we were very frustrated with him. And we left and went to another clinic. And had success within a few months with them. Leaving Dr. Sipe was the best decision we made. My advice is don’t go see Dr. Sipe keep looking. You will waste your time and money with him. And get nowhere with him.

I spent nearly two years with FCI (Dr. Sipe) and it is one of my biggest regrets. Not because I did not achieve a healthy pregnancy under his care (because I don't think that can be expected of any doctor in this line of work), but because I feel our treatment could be characterized as chaotic, lacking empathy, no attention to detail, hostile, rushed, disrespectful, and painful. We moved on to another doctor and our results were stunningly better, we immediately made embryos and got pregnant. Please check SART scores. Don't repeat my mistake.

Horrible experience so far. I was supposed to be scheduled for an IUI and nobody ever contacted me. The doctor impossible to reach. He clearly does not care about his patients. Even the nurses are almost impossible to reach. Prepare to be frustrated if you choose to go with Doctor Sipe.

Dr. Sipe was great to work with after we were not pleased with our results at another clinic. I only underwent one procedure with Dr. Sipe and became pregnant right away. He knew exactly why we were having difficulty after our initial test results. His recommendation for a treatment plan was spot on because it worked right away. We can’t thank him enough. His demeanor is approachable and knowledgeable. He also tells you all the facts so you aren’t blind-sided. We learned more from him in five minutes than we did in six months somewhere else. FCI is good at what they do and I would highly recommend them.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr Sipe, FCI, and the practice in general. We went through a very long road of infertility (like so many others) and in the end we have a very healthy child thanks to Dr Sipe.

Our experience with FCI was awful. While Dr Sipe is personable and nice, he unexpectedly went on medical leave in the middle of our treatment. We were not assigned another doctor in the practice to fill in for questions. Our nurse was gruff and rude about this. Nurse Agnes and the woman at the front desk (Linda?) are unhelpful, rude and short. I dreaded working with Agnes or having to ask her any sort of question. She is impatient and cold. And with IVF you will have many many questions especially first timers. IVF and infertility is an extremely expensive, stressful and emotionally draining process. This clinic does nothing to make this process easier or more compassionate. If anything they make it 1,000% harder and 1,000% more confusing. Never once did Dr Sipe call us personally to deliver any results or news as our new clinic has. Never once did he do any of our IUI's himself. There is no personalized care here. I regret ever wasting time, money and energy here.

While Dr Sipe is personable, and good natured when you do actually interact with him- he completely disappeared off the face of the planet when our treatments began. He never once delivered any news of two failed IUI’s. Instead his cold, mean spirited nurse Agnes did all the disappointing calls and she was not sympathetic at all when I broke down in tears after the second failed IUI. I asked to meet or speak to Dr Sipe and I was roadblocked basically. It would take months to meet with him and during IVF you don’t feel like time is on your side. The last thing you want to do is wait 3 months to come up with a new game plan. He never once performed any of the IUI’s. A nurse did. I found that off-putting since a lot of research shows experience of the doctor doing IUI’s can increase or decrease the effectiveness. Why were we paying outlandish prices for IUI’s that were not even performed by the actual doctor? Also IUI’s should not have even been recommended. The success rates for them are dismal. We wasted time, money and energy with this. There was no meeting with Dr Sipe after two failed IUI’s His nurse blankly and without any explanation told us Dr Sipe says we can do another IUI or move onto IVF. Wow. Their IVF treatment plans take double to triple the time it took me at my new clinic. They want to throw you on BC for 3-4 weeks to get you on THEIR schedule. Which helps them pump out as many procedures as possible regardless if the treatment or protocol is right for your body and good for you. After a certain age, BC suppresses your ovaries resulting in more failed cycles. Stay away from FCI. I do not recommend Dr Sipe and I most certainly do not recommend the factory that is FCI. They care about their bottom line NOT what’s best for patients.

We are eternally grateful for Dr. Sipe for allowing us to have a family - thanks entirely to him we went from thinking we could not have any children to having 2 beautiful little girls. He could not have been more professional, kind, helpful, and clearly incredibly skilled throughout our 4 year fertility journey. I would recommend Dr. Sipe to anybody looking to have the best possible experience with one of life's most difficult challenges of infertility.

Dr. Sipe is an expert at maximining one's ability to a successful pregnancy. He has a sense of humor and a personality to add ease and comfort to the experience. He helped me have a healthy baby at age 43 and was both realistic and incredibly positive during treatment.
