Dr. Christopher R. Collaco

Our family has been going to Dr. Collaco for years. He and his entire staff are great and always treat us like family. Dr. Collaco takes time to explain in great detail any treatment plan and answer any questions we may have. Highly recommend the Advanced Allergy and Asthma Center.

Dr. Collaco is a terrific allergist and thorough doctor who takes excellent care of his patients. I went to ER and they just gave me Cortisone shot , a week later went to my PCP she also gave me a Cortisone shot. I walked into Dr. Collaco and he took his time evaluating me seeing what medicines would work the best. Genuinely cares for his patients. I will be back to get allergies under control after I get better. I highly recommend this doctor if you suffer from allergies , he has been my doctor for 7 years. I have had chronic hives for twenty years. I have been to two allergist as well as several other doctors to try to get my hives under control. I have been on many medications, shots and tried various ways to get rid of the hives. I was told I had cold induced hives. While cold makes my hives worse I would break out into hives even when I was not cold. I started seeing a new general physician and he sent me to Dr. Colleco. After my first visit with Dr. Colleco, he adjusted my medication. I haven’t had hives since…even when getting cold. He listened to everything I had to say. He explained things very clearly. For the first couple of visits Dr. Collaco and staff were good, BUT now that I've been there for a few months, true colors are showing. Specifically with the insurance coordinator / Fatima, she is the rudest and most argumentative person I have EVER encountered. She does not do her job, she expects the patient to do most of the leg work for her and the rest will get done when she feels like it, nothing is of any urgency to her, and because Dr. Collaco supports this horrible behavior makes it 10X worse. Fatima was SUPPOSED to verify and get acceptance from my insurance for a specific medication, but instead she made excuses and she even lied about what she had done, I got the insurance on 3 way to speak to her directly while I was on the phone and she started arguing with my insurance about what my health insurance policy was (she argued with the people that created the process), who does that, she was arguing with my health insurance about what the insurance procedure was and my insurance rep kept trying to let her know that she was wrong, but she even lied about what she had done, that they had NO record of. In fact once she did what the insurance told her to do, it took her 5 minutes to complete what she had originally told me would take 2 weeks. Dr. Collaco was fine as my doctor, but once he co-signed her horrible behavior today, and Dr. Collaco was very abrupt with me on the phone about the situation, I felt like the trust was out the window at that point, if I only had to deal with Dr. Collaco it wouldn't be that bad but since you have to deal with the staff on a regular basis, I am opting to go to another doctor. I've had one Asthma and Allergy Dr. most of my life but he has since retired, plus I moved away. I did my research and landed on Dr. Collaco and I am very glad I did. He listened to what I was experiencing, gave me options (explained the options very well), showed me results and made sure that I understood said results, and answered all questions that I had. On top of being what I consider to be a great Doctor, he is super easy to talk to, very chill, and he explains things in a way that anyone can understand. When I call with a question or concern, I never have to wait for someone to get back to me, like with most doctors’ offices. Dr. Collaco was is the fourth doctor I have been to for my sinus/ allergy issues. I even underwent sinus surgery, with little relief. He was able to diagnose me and treat me by thinking outside of the box, which no one else had done. He has a great bedside manners and makes you feel extremely comfortable. His office staff was sweet and efficient. They were extremely accommodating, and I really felt like Dr. Collaco cared for me as a person, not just a patient. Business model is straight forward. Dr. Collaco meets with you the first visit and offers basic improvements (nose spray, allergy pill, eye drops). He then recommends being tested for allergies and then shots. You won't interact with him after that. Once that's done, you're handed to his staff (who is great) to receive shots and you'll only see him again in passing if he's in the office. No follow up or plan review. You just get shots until you decide to stop. If you have a prescription, you meet with the PA annually for a couple minutes to get it renewed and then back to your shot routine.

Staff and doctor very friendly and knowledgeable. Systematic plan quickly formulated and explained clearly. Team is very efficient, but I never felt rushed.

If only every doctor was as good and professional as Dr. Collaco! He became a doctor for all the right reasons. He is extremely caring and has assembled an A+ staff to support him.

I started to go to Dr. Collaco this summer for my asthma and allergies after a well known Pulmonologist didn't bother to help me much - for a year! My experience with him has been phenomenal. He is intelligent, interested in me as a patient and very thorough. He began with my allergy treatment and half way through it he referred me to another and much better Pulmonologist for help with my -complex- case. Through her I found out much more about my asthma and for the first time, I feel we are going somewhere with my treatment. His staff has always been wonderful, very helpful and nice. Wait times are minimal, and they are very responsive by phone when i need something. Can't recommend them all enough! There is no reason to go anywhere else. Amazing experience with Dr. Collaco. He was so well-informed. I’ve been in Houston for about 2 years dealing with all different sorts of doctors trying to find someone to help me manage my health. I kept running into doctors and practices that were only interested in pushing surgeries or medications and doctors who were not knowledgeable about my issues. Dr. Collaco not only took the time to explain and educate me on the details of my healthcare plane but he also made specific recommendations that were new to me even though I’ve been receiving treatment for almost 7 years. I loved my entire appointment and am excited to see how my health turns around under Dr. Collaco’s treatment. I will be recommending him to a few friends who are looking for allergists and look forward to seeing him again.

I went to this office, because it had great reviews here. However, my experience was awful. I don’t have anything bad to say about the staff, they were kind and friendly, but Dr. Collaco was horrible. I went in my with my mother, who wanted to get a second opinion on her drug allergy. Dr. Collaco was very hostile, he kept sneering when we talked about the blood work we had done in our country. It even felt racist. I didn’t get the feeling that he was knowledgeable on drug allergies. Maybe he’s a pro at regular food and sesonal allergies, but on more serious matters - he kept looking things up on Google. I want to give him a 1 star bc he won't cure my allergy to shrimp (hahaha!) but I'm so glad I found him and his staff. They are courteous, quick, helpful, and I didn't catch the name of the NP that's currently there (May 2019) but she was AMAZING. Even called out some side effects from meds and irritation that I had noticed but not connected to my allergies. Glad they're here in this town that's terrible for breathing. Dr. Collaco is an all-star. Great patient outcome with extreme attention to detail and incredible “bed side manner”. From your complicated allergy needs to cold and flu issues...he’s your guy and the front desk staff is always so accomidating. They worked me in 30 min aftrt i called in sick.

Dr Collaco had corrected a longstanding misdiagnosis of asthma, something that no other doctor had ever considered, and gave me a course of treatment for paradoxical vocal cord dysfunction that probably saved my life. I happen to be allergic to just about everything in Houston so he's a vital resource for me. Dr. Collaco is by far the best at what he does. He is very knowledgeable and informative along with being very personable. He was very compassionate towards my daughters eczema condition and treated her accordingly. He made her feel special and gave her hope that her condition could be maintained with the right regimen. Nearing to the point of giving up, I finally came across Dr Collaco and could have not been more pleased with him & his staff. They all were always very nice and professional. It was also a relief that someone was willing to help me get answers rather than turning me away. I would definitely recommend him if you are needing an allergist! Great doctor. Resolved my 4-year old's chronic sinus infection issues after months seeing the pediatrician without results. He is also punctual and you don't have to wait.

A coworker recommended Dr. Collaco to me, and I am forever grateful. This doctor and his staff are just so amazing and knowledgeable. Fabulous medical practice. After two years of ineffectual treatment at a nearby allergy clinic here in Bellaire, a physician friend told us about Dr. Collaço. I have been under his care since late February (it is now June) and I am finally getting better. The Eustachian dysfunction is almost gone so that I'm rarely dizzy, I am no longer extremely fatigued, no longer sneezing uncontrollably, no longer feel like my sinuses are exploding, headaches are much better, ear aches are nearly gone. Best of all, I am no longer being pumped with steroids. Everyone at Dr. C's office is also superbly trained and exceptionally nice, from Fatima and her colleagues at the front desk to the techs and nurses. And Gina, Dr. C's PA, is warm, caring, thorough, and competent. Finally, no one wastes your time. You go in for shots and are called in within 5 minutes of arrival. Dr. C is awesome. He truly cares for his patients and will do whatever he can to help. I have terrible allergies and he has helped tremendously. His office staff is also great. They remember every patient and are timely. As a medical professional I have been around multiple offices. Hands down, Dr. C and his staff are the best.

I had a great experience at Dr. Collaco's office the other day. He really listened and tried to help me with my issue. Although it's not solved yet, we have steps planned for the future. I recommend him for any allergy problem!

Dr. Collaςo is awesome. I moved to Texas from Michigan and never new how many things I was allergic to. I can go months without having any symptoms. His treatment has worked and I would recommend anyone who can't get a hold of their asthma or allergies come visit him.

After about one year of allergy problems (while seeing another allergist in town), my child slept better the very first night after seeing Dr. Collaco!
