Surgery to repair humerus break near shoulder. Was referred to Dr Nwosa and Iowa Ortho from a nearby smaller hospital. Dr. Nwosa communicated promptly, explained the surgery, answered all questions, and scheduled surgery promptly. This is exactly what was needed and very appreciated.

I fell on my shoulder & my humerus was completely broken in half & severly splintered. I had surgery from a different orthopedic surgeon, but when I went for my 2 week check up, the screws had backed out & the plate shifted, so that Dr immediately gave me to Dr. Nwosa. He performed a second surgery, basically the same except he built up the splintered area & used a different plate. I am not a young person (but not quite an old person) & my bones are soft in general. Dr. Nwosa's surgery was successful & I felt he was very kind & explained everything well. At follow-up appointments, he was thorough, I never felt rushed, & he explained everything he was doing. I would highly recommend him & have been told by other professionals that he's the best trauma orthopedic surgeon they know.

Dr. Nwosa repaired my shattered ankle. I followed his instructions and it has healed beautifully. I have full range of motion.

Dr. Nwosa is a kind and competent surgeon. He really cares about you and answers all your questions throughly. He doesn’t rush you at all. I would recommend him highly.

Dr. Nwosa is a very kind, compassionate man & one of the best trauma Ortho surgeons there is. I consider myself fortunate to have had him care for me after my accident. I 1000% recommend Dr. Nwosa. I didn’t get to choose him - the universe brought him to me in my worst moment of pain and fear - but if I had been able to choose a surgeon, this is who I would want again. Dr. Nwosa is compassionate and yet honest. Realistic but encouraging. He is skilled beyond what I can fathom to have navigated my very precarious and complicated case. Yet he never makes me feel as though there’s a reason to lose hope. Dr. Nwosa is truly a gifted human. I’m grateful to have received his care. To provide an honest review, I have to share that I recommend if your case is complex, you stick with seeing Dr. Nwosa as challenging as it can be to get on his schedule vs the PA. When Dr. Nwosa enters the room, he remembers the important elements of my story and is prepared. I don’t have to refresh his memory or get halfway through the visit only to discover he doesn’t know my history. Confirm appt if you don’t hear from clinic - they have left me off the schedule by mistake.

Dr. Nwosa is a very kind and compassionate surgeon. He explained the procedure and what to expect Post op and when to follow up, etc… Dr. Nwosa is a highly skilled surgeon trained in trauma orthopedics. Des Moines is blessed to have him!

One of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in central Iowa. He is well known, very knowledgeable, and is able to preform surgeries on complicated fractures. Dr. Nwosa takes the time to explain everything in a way you can understand and is very caring. I’ve never heard anything but good words about him.

Such a professional and courteous. Your comfort is their to priority so you receive the best care possible. Highly recommended!!

I experienced a fall & fractured my Tibia in 2 places back in June. I'm so grateful for Dr. Nwosa & his entire Team. The team showed such professionalism when ever I had any interaction. Thank you for all you do!!

First time I ever needed surgery. Dr Nwosa explained everything to me and answered my questions before surgery. I was set ease. Follow up care was exceptional and I highly recommend Dr Nwosa and his team.

After a bad fall I broke my leg just below my knee and was unable to walk (on my good leg) without pain. I’m still healing, about 4 weeks post op, but Dr. Nwosa has made every step easy. He or his team visited me in the hospital every day after surgery. Now after 4 weeks I’m virtually off pain meds and bending my knee fairly well. Dr. Nwosa performed an urgent surgery on my Grandmother when she broke her hip. The surgery was very high risk because of her health and age. The surgery went well and I’m grateful he took such great care of her. May Allah continue to bless and protect him and guide his hands Ameen! He is a ?? gem! We love this Doctor and hope you get the pleasure to work with him ??

Dr Nwosa operated on my 89 yr old father, who suffers from dementia, after a fall that fractured his hip. I was very pleased with the way he handled my dad..very confident and competent. The actual surgery was quick..which meant alot to our family that my dad was not under anesthesia for a long period of time. My dad is recovering quickly.

Was in a horrendous crash. His work is hands down some of the best I've had the privilege to experience along side a great bedside manner . If you have the option this is my recommendation.

Dr. Nwosa is amazing!!! He explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions! Breaking bones is never fun but at least I know I’m in extremely qualified hands. My healing process is going great!

I arrived at my appointment early and got in to the be examined in a very short time. He was very polite and explained everything clearly and simply, that even I could understand. Dr. Nwosa took extra time to explain everything surrounding my wife’s patella surgery. His supporting, caring nature was so comforting during a painful and stressful situation. Everyone seems to rave about him and we saw nothing to discount those comments. Time will tell if his hands were as skillful as his bedside manner, but I’m extremely confident at this point. Dr. Nwosa was very kind, and took the time to explain my options and why he felt surgery would provide the best outcome long term. He was reassuring and confident and put me at ease before and after surgery. I look forward to my post surgery appointment with him on Nov. 27th.

During my visit to Mercy Hospital Dr. Nwosa operated on my fractured pelvis. Dr. Nwosa was very kind and understanding with any questions or concerns I had. To his best ability he answered questions and helped with my needs whatever they may be. I highly recommend him because he is kind, honest, and very good at his job and what he does.

Incredible experience! After suffering a level 6 tibial Plateau fracture, I was told by my first doctor that you just can’t put Humpty Dumpty back together! So I decided to get a second opinion! Dr Nwosa was recommended to me by a family member who happens to be a registered nurse! After meeting Dr Nwosa he told me that even though it doesn’t get much worse, he felt confident he could get me back to where I was before!!! After discussing this with my wife I decided it was my best option! So under the knife I went! 2 surgery’s later, 2 plates, 12 screws and 6 months of recovery I was able to return to work in elevator construction!!! It’s been 8 months since the injury and I can perform almost all of the tasks I need to!!! Without Dr Nwosa’s experiences, and the help of his staff, I’m not sure I would be walking today let alone be able to do my job!!! I can’t thank them enough! I am forever great full!!! Dr. Nwosa is not only an outstanding surgeon, he genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to ensure all questions are answered and you are comfortable with your surgery.

Excellent bedside manner, explained the surgery well, and answered all my questions. On rounds the next day, he listened to my concerns. I felt confident that I was receiving the best care.

Amazing Dr!

My significant other was a stage IV prostate cancer patient. With weakened bones from the cancer and treatments, he fell and fractured his hip. Dr. Nwosa performed a partial hip replacement on that hip. The entire experience, especially given my S.O.'s condition, was wonderful. . . Dr. Nwosa was caring and very present before, during and after the surgery. He personally checked back on the healing progress while in the hospital. Highly recommended.

This doctor is a gentle, caring, EXCELLENT Physician. I was in an accident in November of 2015,suffering a crushed pelvis. Between him and God, I was put back together and am healthy and can do almost anything I did before. I expect with a little more healing and strengthening I will be able to do anything. I was blessed to have such a wonderful doctor. I will be forever grateful.
