It really is an amazing place, everyone is so welcoming , organized and most of all so professional!! Love it
Dr. Paka interrupted me over and over again. Barely looked at me and did not address my issues or concerns. I get that she's busy but she couldn't have run out of the room quick enough. She made me feel very uncomfortable and as if I was a burden. I also choose female OB's because I'd like to think that they'd be understanding and able to relate but Dr. Paka did my apt in about 30 seconds and threw medicine at me then left.
In a well woman visit with Dr. Paka she gave me the impression that she, nor her staff, have had any training in trauma-informed care. When I asked her to slow down so I could take notes of what she was explaining, and in order to process it in real time, she told me I didn’t need to memorize what she was telling me, that it’d be in her notes and I could read it post visit. Dismissive and condescending—I’ll be finding another obgyn. In a well woman visit with Dr. Paka she gave me the impression that she, nor her staff, have had any training in trauma-informed care. Worst gyno experience in my life. I waited 30 minutes in a paper gown. When Dr. Paka arrived she seemed to be in an incredible hurry. I was told that an additional person, a 'chaperone', would be coming in for my pap smear. I told Dr. Paka that I had never experienced this before and asked why a chaperone was necessary. She told me it was common and that the chaperone was there for 'her protection'. She seemed annoyed that I asked this. My entire exam — breast exam and pap smear took 5 minutes. She was beyond cold and I felt she was punishing me for being a difficult patient. I have had an annual pap smear for a decade now and never had an experience like this. No joke or exaggeration, she barely did the exam.
Avoid forever. I'm still processing the traumatic surgery that Chandhana Paka put me through.
All this negative reviews are correct about this doctor, I had a surgery by her and her mother, trust me that was the biggest mistake of MY LIFE. I'M SUFFERING the consequences alone. I'm scare to see an OBGYN doctor because they left me with physical and emotional damage.
If you'd like to be spoken to in a condescending manner and without any empathy, then this doctor is for you.
Literal best doctor I’ve ever been to, I felt extremely heard with any concerns I had, am looking for new insurance and am basing it around who Dr Paka takes because I don’t want to lose her
Writing on behalf of my partner who left in TEARS after the abysmal treatment she received from Dr Paka. Waited for an hour in the waiting room for an insulting 5-minute meeting. This includes 30 minutes in the doctor’s room itself! She refused to answer any of my partner’s questions and gave absolutely no clarity to any of the symptoms that she is experiencing. Told her to sign up for an ultrasound and sent her on her way. Unbelievably awful, cold, uncaring, unhelpful bedside manner. I’d give -10 stars if I could. This was by far the worst doctor's visit I have had in my life. To start, her office is extremely disorganized. Despite calling ahead 4 times and emailing them my insurance information, her office kept me waiting when I arrived for my appointment to check whether they accept my insurance (they do). I had to wait for 1 hour 15 minutes before they checked me in to see Dr. Paka. When the doctor finally arrived, she was rude, condescending, and dismissive. She barely saw me for 5 min and rushed through my questions without properly addressing my confusion and concerns. She acted as though she were doing me a favor by evaluating me. She was also unable to perform the procedure, suggesting her inexperience. Save your time and look for another OB-GYN!
This doctor and her staff have consistently been rude and outright mean. She is consistently impatient, dismissive and condescending. I highly recommend seeing another doctor.
This doctor may be good at what she does but her attitude, bedside manner, way she explains things is horrible. And god forbid you ask her twice she will give you a very nasty look. She always looks like she's an a rush, making you feel seriously uncomfortable. Some of her colleagues have also seen this as she preps for surgery.
Not much wait time, if any at all- Super quick. Dr Paka listened to my concerns... she went above and beyond to help me. I did not feel uncomfortable or awkward to discuss my history and current issues. I came to her as a specialist but after one visit she is my ObGyn for everything. Also, the entire office staff was friendly, patient (no pun intended) and efficient.
I had seen a urologist for an overnight frequent urination problem, who did a complete bladder study, and could not find the cause of the problem. He tried two prescriptions, neither one worked. Dr. Paka told me to try one of the prescriptions again - it 'might work this time.' It didn't. She tried a second prescription. She tried a third. Didn't work. She suggested a Botox injection. I was fearful, and told her. She said the only possible side effect is that you may need a catheter. Don't worry, 'lots of women do it.' Don't worry - a catheter - lots of women do it?? I have never been spoken to by a doctor in such a demeaning attitude - particularly by someone at least 30 years younger than me. She treated me like an uneducated stupid woman. Her title of 'Doctor' does not allow her to speak to a patient like this. I just got a letter that her office is moving from Union Square to 57th street, and she hopes I will continue my care with her at her new Midtown location. Goodbye Dr. Paka
I am post-menopausal and wanted to try HRT but Dr. Paka said I am ineligible because it's been over two years since my last period. I was surprised because information I've read and conversations with other post-menopausal women I know indicate otherwise. Instead, she prescribed the anti-depressant Paxil which was sent to the wrong pharmacy because her staff ignored the form they required me to fill out where I wrote the name and address of my local pharmacy. After reading about Paxil I decided not to take it. (I don't take or need anti-depressants.) The pelvic exam was routine but as she was walking out of the room she said that when having sex I should always use a condom and 'don't trust anybody' (not that I asked for any such advice) and then she was out the door. Fortunately I have been better at choosing a sex partner than I was in making this recent choice of gynecologist. Too bad the good gynecologist I had dropped my insurance.
I went in a few months after my annual because I was concerned by some changes in my cycle as they may relate to hormonal imbalances and infertility. Not only was Dr. Paka very short and condescending, she actually said to me when I referenced wanting a hormone panel, 'Well, you're not getting one.' She made me feel ridiculous and stupid for even having concerns in the first place. I understand that she's the 'expert' and I do believe she is knowledgeable, but if a patient has concerns, the appropriate response is not to make them feel dumb for having them. It's my right to know what is going on in my body and if I want a test done on my hormones (that I am paying for), it should be done, not brushed off because she doesn't have the same concerns. After that rude encounter and zero tests or examinations done, I still had to pay the co pay for her basically telling me it was stupid for me to even come in. If she felt that way from the beginning - which was clear by her dismissive nature for the entire 5 minutes she spoke to me - there should have been a quick phone call to tell me I shouldn't bother coming in at all. Waste of time and money, and I don't feel any better or have any more knowledge than when I went in.
I saw Dr. Paka last week for the first time and had a great experience. She took her time with me and answered all of my questions. She was very informative and very down to earth. It was easy to feel comfortable with her and I definitely recommend her.

So happy I found Dr. Paka! Needed to find an Obgyn after moving to the city almost a year ago. Just went for an annual check-up and was relieved to see that Dr. Paka is friendly and cheerful. She has an easy-going manner and I never felt rushed. Also she was knowledgeable about various topics that I inquired about; she answered all of my questions with confidence, which put me at ease. I will definitely be back !
I went to Dr. Paka since she is advertised as a urogynecologist. I didn't know if my pain problem was one, the other, or both. When I got there I was asked if I was there or my 'annual' or for--I think--urology. Anyway, she told me was she submitting bills for both because they're separate. I guess I answered wrong. She did nothing beyond a routine gyn exam. Fast forward: Not especially interested in my severe pain as evidenced by no call-back with labs or for follow up. Now I have to go out and find a urologist I guess, having learned through the patient portal my pap smear was fine. The urine I can't figure out and I need a doc who will stick it out past that first-time visit billing. So waste of time, money and carfare. Just as well, I suppose, as the new Mt. Sinai with all their acquisitions and mergers is a disorganized mess, so I've learned to avoid them too.

I saw this Doctor about 2 weeks ago and was advised by her that I had no lumps in my breast. I asked for a referral to obtain a Mamogram anyway and the paperwork was filled out poorly. I needed to obtain a breast ultra sound so I needed another referral. spoke with the office staff on Tuesday and advised them that I needed the referral. Please keep in mind if the paperwork with filled out correctly the doctor would have gotten the results. When I spoke to the office staff I advised the girl that answers the phone that the doctor misdiagnosed me and I needed the referral because my appt is today at 9:30 needless to say I still don't have the referral and when I called the office this morning the young lady was abrasive and short with me. Be careful when seeing this physician.
