Dr. Caroline Josephine Simon

Dr. Simon did my liver transplant surgery. She is kind, patient, personable, and very skilled at her craft. My family was reassured by her during all our interactions. She exudes confidence about what will make me better even in situations with a lot of risk and uncertainty. Before the transplant she gave us total trust in her abilities and in her as a person. On the day of surgery she was able to visit and update my family during a short break in the 14 hour operation. During recovery she has managed every step personally with me and she makes sure we feel good about the game plan. I thought getting my life saved would be unpleasant and difficult, and it was - but I had no idea how invested my care team would be in making me well and making sure I felt okay. Others have said they couldn't have had a better surgeon - I couldn't have IMAGINED a better surgeon. The entire Lahey transplant team from CNAs to doctors is really exceptional too, you'll be in good hands.

Dr Simon always listens thoroughly during appointments and gives honest feedback. She allows you to make your own decisions with some guidance. She has worked so well with myself and family and make the surgical process as comfortable as possible. She can be very personable and always puts me at ease.

I had a liver transplant and Dr. Simon did the majority of the surgery and all of my follow-up thus far (3 months out). She is a phenomenal physician and was so kind and honest with my wife, as was much the rest of the Lahey transplant team, that I travel several times a year to Lahey for my follow-up appointments, rather than opt for someone closer. She is very personable, knowledgeable, and skillful and, in my case, seems to be able to work "miracles".

Dr. Simon is patient and very attentive. She listens and you never feel rushed. She gives you all the attention you need at your appointments. Thrilled to have her as my transplant surgeon. I couldn't have hand picked anyone better.
