I had a wonderful experience! I found the answers I needed, and the doctors and staff were efficient and friendly. This was my first visit, and I will go back if needed. I highly recommend this practice.

Pediatric medicine is like dentistry and chiropractic. And psychiatrist. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. See a internal medical doctor or general surgeon. Nothing personal but so far I can't find a educated doctor..oh for the Old Days when doctors were real.

One of the most pleasant doctors, medical exams and treatments that I have had. Good referral to another specialist also.

I waited almost an hour after my appointment to see Dr. Akerman. After a few moments in the room with me and her looking at my x-rays, she said my issue could be "this" or "related to this", but couldn't tell for certain. Then told me I needed a shot and equipment they sold in their office, with no explanation as to why I needed either, or what other treatment options were. After the shot she pretty much said here's some stretches, call us back if you need another shot.

Every time I go to this office I smell food.The first time it smelled of garlic.The last time I smelled a TV dinner.They need a break room in the back.I was diagnosed with 3 different issues with my feet.The Dr never explained what they were.She didn’t even make a treatment plan.She was more concerned with a callus that she barely cut off.The Dr and nurse are friendly.The front office rubbed me the wrong way.I think it’s time for her to retire! Had trouble finding somewhere that could get me in quick for an infected ingrown toenail. This office went above an beyond to make sure that they could try to squeeze me in on such a short notice. I’m glad I went here. Dr. Akerman was extremely friendly, helpful, and considerate of my situation. I will definitely be making this office my primary office. Friendly staff, speed of service, and overall helpfulness will have me back to them with any future issues I may have with my feet! Dr Akerman was thorough, patient, and understanding. She explains thing that are easy to understand and sets perfect expectations. I am so thankful for her and her staff that made this process easy!

First time visit and I will be sending my other family members here for treatment. Doctor Akerman is very thorough and kind.

Dr. Akerman is very professional and accomodating. I was in and out of the office very quickly for an ingrown toenail removal. I felt completely comfortable the whole time, despite my nervousness.

Staff & Dr. Akerman are great. She made me feel like I had known her for years. Awesome bedside manner.

Dr. Akerman and staff are amazing. I had two lapiplasty surgeries this year and both were successful and I’m very happy with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Akerman as well as the lapiplasty procedure itself. I can’t wait for sandal season next year!

I would not recommend. She did surgery on my foot for bunion. That was all i wanted... after surgery I found out she cut the end of toes off which caused nerves being hung up in bone. Severe pain , could not walk. After trying to correct her mess I have a ruined foot. Can’t walk good and a lot of pain. Do not let her do surgery on your foot! My word of advice check with orthopedic foot Doctor.

Listened to me and was very caring and took her time! Did all that was possible i felt to help me!

My son had to have a toenail removed, the staff took time to explain everything. Dr Akerman level of care removed all his fears, and he was so relieved to finally be pain free.

This doctor is a joke and you shouldn't waste your time with her. I went there complaining of my foot issues and she basically ignored them and didn't try and resolve the issue. I am seeing a new specialist soon because after dealing with this now going on two years I got an idea of what might be happening.

Dr, Akerman came in and listened to me even after reading the notes in my chart, She took her time in explaining to me the procedure she was going to do and then asked if I had any questions. During the procedure she checked on me to make sure I was doing okay. Spoke very clearly about after care and asked if there were questions for that as well. Very professional but also very personable. Great bed side manners!!!

First appt was January of last year and had an issue with the left ankle. Took xrays and diagnosed the problem. Working on my feet with 12 hour days and needed to come back for more care. Took more xrays and gave more treatment after explaining the issue. Listens and explains very well.

I had a great experience with Dr Ackerman, and I would and have recommended her to several people. She is very willing to spend time with each patient, listen, and she has a wonderful bedside manner that you don't see that much today.

I DO NOT recommend this doctor. Don’t permit her friendly demeanor to fool you. She talked me into a Cortizone shot… telling me that it would not hurt. Then why did she freeze the spot where the injection was to go and why did the nurse go to hold my hand at the time of the injection if it wasn’t supposed to hurt? It hurt so much that I cried all throughout the shot and continued to cry as I was leaving her office. The bottom of my foot was instantly swollen, extremely painful to walk on and the site of the injection was bruised when I got home. I developed a terrible headache and spent the rest of the day in bed. She did not go over all the possible risks that could be associated with this injection. When I asked about the risks and side effects she only told me there was one very mild side effect that rarely happened which would be a flushing of the face. She did not mention anything else. She did not tell me that I would be in more pain for a couple of days, it could cause weight gain, water retention, insomnia, headache and more... just as prednisone and Cortizone pills do.( I had mentioned that being on prednisone once before had caused me to have an adjustment reaction which was a change in mood and expressed my concern ). She was very quick to give me this injection and I truly feel it was because she wanted to collect the insurance money. This part, of course, is just speculation but I do trust my instincts. I am very disheartened about this trip to this doctor, as I am very disturbed that I now have this horrible drug in my body with many possible side effects. I even called back several times about my headache and how displeased I was...several times. I was told she would return my call. She never did. Seek out someone else. Trust me on this one. Being very nice is not necessarily the hallmark of a good doctor. I DO NOT recommend this doctor. Don’t permit her friendly demeanor to fool you. Carol Akerman is an excellent foot doctor and polite staff that works with Dr.Akerman.If you have any problems with your feet, I would high recommend her.

How can you NOT like a Doctor who's offices are in close proximity to a great pizza and ice cream establishment? I find her to be extremely competent, unfailingly informative and medically up-to-date in her knowledge and treatments. I would suggest that anyone having a major problem with her practise, such as the reviewer leaving the negative below go find another DPM and LISTEN to the prognosis delivered.
