(English) Please be advised if you or a loved one ever visit Memorial Hospital or MD Carlos Sklaver private practice, do not take his word as the final judgment call and do dont allow him to make important life decisions. My Grandmother recently went to Memorial Hospital for a knee surgery and due to neglecenge ended up with Staff infection. While in the hospital trying to recover due to all the medication and sedation she was under ended up choking on her food in their care which led to her initial cardiac arrest. She was then Moved to the ICU and put on life support. His Inital prognoses was very negative but my grandmother beat the 1% chance he said she had and woke up and still had her brain activity. The max amount of days they allow someone to be on life support is 14 days but on the 7th day Carlos Skalver removed the oxygen support after letting my grand mother breathe for 13hrs alone. He then proceeded to call my aunt over the telephone and very unprofffesionally told her that my grandmother is going to go into cardiac arrest again give him the ok to not revive her. He made a decision for our loved one with out getting our ok and without giving us the courstey to know what was happening. My grand mother was not brian dead and was still smiling and communicating when he decided that she was too weak to live any more. Please!!! Please!!! I am writing this so that if you have a loved one under his care or he gives you a diagnosis do not listen and take away his power of authority I hope no one else ever has to experience his unproffessional critical choices where a loved one is concerned. Mi abuela recientemente fue al Memorial Hospital para una cirugía de rodilla y, debido a una negligencia, terminó con una infección del personal. Mientras estaba en el hospital tratando de recuperarse debido a toda la medicación y la sedación a la que estaba sometida, se atragantó con la comida que tenía a su cargo, lo que llevó a su paro cardíaco inicial. Luego la trasladaron a la UCI y le pusieron soporte vital. Su pronóstico inicial fue muy negativo, pero mi abuela superó la probabilidad del 1% que dijo que tenía, se despertó y todavía tenía su actividad cerebral. La cantidad máxima de días que permiten a alguien estar en soporte vital es de 14 días, pero en el séptimo día, Carlos Skalver retiró el suministro de oxígeno después de dejar que mi abuela respirara por 13 horas solo. Luego procedió a llamar a mi tía por teléfono y muy poco profesionalmente le dijo que mi abuela iba a tener un paro cardíaco otra vez y le dio el visto bueno para que no la reanimara. Tomó una decisión por nuestro ser querido sin nuestro consentimiento y sin darnos la oportunidad de saber qué estaba pasando. Mi abuela no estaba muerta de brian y todavía estaba sonriendo y comunicándose cuando decidió que ella estaba demasiado débil para seguir viviendo. ¡¡¡Por favor!!! ¡¡¡Por favor!!! Estoy escribiendo esto para que si usted tiene a un ser querido bajo su cuidado o él le da un diagnóstico, no escuche y le quite su poder de autoridad, espero que nadie más tenga que experimentar sus elecciones críticas no profesionales en lo que respecta a un ser querido.
