Sent here to supposedly get the quality care since my pancreas is basically dead. Gave me insulin with no education... next visit.. increased insulin without labs...etc.. Next visit was teleheath... spent 25 bucks after insurance for him to b#tch about me having a telehealth appt..waste. Went to visit in January... he increased insulin, no education... then proceeded to fuss at me for using a telehealth visit THE LAST TIME. If this is the best of the best in the South.... we are DOOOOOMED Worthless. I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO, JUST INCREASE INSULIN AND DIE.

Dr Arguello has always treated me an my mom with respect. Im always so pleased wit the the dr visit we have an please with whatever test work that come bk to he explains VERY WELL! LOVE THIS MAN .been with him for over 5yrs now an still counting !

ALWAYS PLEASED with his attention to my particular concerns. He’s thorough, explains well and obviously has my best health at heart. VERRY pleased!

This provider will not let you get through, into the surgery dept. when I finally did. He personally called me, threatening me twice (2 threatening phone calls). He needs to be relieved of his position and title at UAB. He is not good enough to work with such prestigious physicians.

This provider actually called me threatening to cancel my dexa scan appointment, because we disagreed about his ability to treat Parathyroids. Then after I got him off the phone, he called again to tell me he was going to cancel my followup appointment. Unbeknownst to him, he had told me at the visit to follow up in 2-3 years. I guess he forgot. If you want to be bullied and not get the care and treatment you need; this is the boy for you! This is not a good person. Dr Arguello called me personally that he knows how to work with parathyroids, and in threatening manner, stated he knows how to work on them. He said, because of that, he was going to cancel my Dexa scan. I said okay, thank you and got off the phone with this bitter person. Literally 5 minutes later, he called again and had decided to tell me he is canceling his followup appointment with me, unbeknownst to him, he never scheduled one for me. He actually told me to follow up in 2-3 years! Anyway, if you want “threatening” personal calls, because you don’t agree with a provider, “then this one is for you!”

He explained everything to us and was very helpful.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Arguello for several years. He works along with my Kidney Doctors at UAB to make sure that I’m getting the best care for my medical condition.

My questions are not answered, and treated as if they are foolish questions to even ask. I would not really want to use him again.

He doesn't explain test readings very short with you is not very informative!!

If I could give a negative number I would for this guy !!!! UAB is paid by research grants/contributors. Do not expect concern nor professional knowledge, for it will not be given by Endocrinology, Neurology, Cardiac/Vascular Departments at UAB Medicine Center. They will take your insurance and money and leave you to rot.

I thought it was just me i went to him 3 yrs ago the First time i had a none functional Thyroid and Graves Disease! He wanted to just keep a watch over my Thyroids,until my husband asked him to do a biopsy he didn't want to but they did!! Afterwards they didn't find cancer, but this doctor didn't want me to see a surgeon but he gave us the options but kept cutting us off short!! Dr porterfield at UAB Highland saved my life!! When he went in they did find cancer on the right Thyroid gland behind my nodule!! So both Thyroids were removed!! If i would have listened to this doctor and not my HUSBAND instincts, and with the help of God i wouldn't be here!! I go to him now for checkups,but after this i will be changing my doctor!! I paid and gave him a form for the DMV since I am diabetic in November. He asks to wait to fill it out till my next appointmemt in the beginning of january after no action being taken in two weeks to turn it in. After my appointment he says he'll send it in that day. Feb. 8 i call to check and my lisence is suspended due to his lack of responsibility. How am I supposed to pay for insurance to go see/pay him to do nothing if I can't drive to my job. Rude, doesn't read information if you hospitalized would not recommend him. Out all the doctors I have been to he has to be the worst. The staff is wonderful he just RUDE. WENT twice want see him ever.
